The aging process is a life cycle characterized by the decline in various organ functions in the body which is marked by the susceptibility of the body to various disease attacks. As for the changes, it affects the deterioration of physical health which in turn will affect the susceptibility to disease. Rheumatic disease and joint inflammation are diseases that are often found in the community, especially in people aged 40 years and over. More than 40 percent of these age groups suffer from complaints of joint and muscle pain. This study aims to determine the experience of caregivers in caring for the elderly with chronic rheumatic disease in Buku Village, Mapilli District, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi Province. . The method used in this research is to use qualitative research where this research is a method to find answers to elderly cargiver. The sample was 5 elderly respondents who were made as respondents. Results of the study] The experience of caregivers in caring for the elderly with chronic rheumatic disease, there were 5 respondents who were carried out by the research. From the results of the conversation above, it can be concluded that the Caregiver plays an important role in treating the Elderly with Chronic Rheumatic Disease.

The method used in this sresearch is this research using qualitative research where this research is a method of inquiry to find answers to the elderly. The sample was 20 elderly respondents who were made as respondents. The results of the study were based on the results of the research on the understanding of caregivers in caring for the elderly with chronic rheumatic disease, there were 20 respondents who did the research.The results were the understanding of caregivers in caring for the elderly who lacked understanding as many as 2 people (10%) and good understanding of caregivers as much as 18 people (90%).

Proses penuaan merupakan siklus kehidupan yang ditandai dengan tahapan menurunnya berbagai fungsi organ dalam tubuh yang ditandai dengan rentannya tubuh terhadap berbagai serangan penyakit. Salah satu penyakit yang sering dialami Lanjut Usia adalah penyakit Hipertensi. Penelitian Ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Karakteristik Hipertensi Pada Lanjut Usia di Desa Buku, Kecamatan Mapilli, Kabupaten Polewali Mandar, Provinsi Sulawesi Barat.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode Deskriptif Kuantitatif Dengan Instrumen penelitian yaitu lembar kuesioner dan di dalam kuisioner ada beberapa pertanyaan yang diberikan salah satunya tentang usia, jenis kelamin, pekerjaan lanjut usia dan tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuke mengetahui Karakteristik Lanjut usia yang meliputi usia, jenis kelamin, pekerjaan. Populasi di Desa Buku yaitu 267 oranglanjut usia dan Sampel ada 50 Responden Lanjut Usia yang dijadikan sampel dimana dari 50 Responden ada 35 Responden yang mengalami Hipertensi ,penelitian dilakukan pada bulan April 2020. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Lanjut usia yang berumur 60-74 tahun (Elderly) atau usia tua dengan umur 60-74 tahun sebanyak 46 orang (92%), dan Lanjut usia tua (old) atau Usia sangat tua dengan umur 75-90 tahun sebanyak 4 orang (8%), Lanjut Usia (elderly) Usia tua 60-74 tahun yang mengalami Hipertensi sebanyak 32 orang (91,4%) dan di dominasi berjenis kelamin perempuan sebanyak 39 orang (78%) dan hasil untuk Lanjut Usia yang berjenis Kelamin Perempuan yang mengalami Hipertensi sebanyak 29 orang (82,8%), lanjut usia yang bekerja sebagai IRT (Ibu Rumah Tangga) sebanyak 39 orang (78%), Pekerjaan Lanjut Usia yang bekerja sebagai IRT ( ibu rumah tangga) yang mengalami Hipertensi sebanyak 29 orang (82,8%)
