Abstract

The purpose of this study is to look at the needs and potential of the Department of Automotive Engineering for the video tutorial assessment model as an evaluation of learning and achievement of student learning targets in LEO course practice. Vocational education in Indonesia is one example or concrete evidence that the Indonesian government is serious about building a smart generation to realize the ideals of the nation. Educating the life of the nation means continuing to develop the quality of education so that Indonesia is not left behind by other nations, especially in the field of education. Vocational education in Indonesia requires professional educators who are able to direct learners towards predetermined learning goals. A professional educator certainly understands that the learning process consists of three main stages namely, preparation, implementation and evaluation. Student competency evaluation consists of 3 components that must be evaluated, cognitive competency evaluation, affective competency evaluation, and psychomotor competency evaluation. The research will be conducted using descriptive research methods, where this research will describe the need for video tutorials as one of the models to measure the psychomotor abilities of students in LEO courses. From the descriptive research that has been conducted on the needs analysis of Psychomotor Assessment Based on Video Tutorials Based on Manualbooks on Vocational Education to Improve Learning Targets Achievement, it can be seen that LEO students in making video tutorials as a material for evaluating psychomotor competencies reap good responses from students and lecturers. Based on this research, it can be seen that automotive engineering students at the Padang State University Engineering Faculty are greatly assisted in the process of assessing one's own abilities, and lecturers can also assess student competency as a whole from each topic that has been studied or comprehensively.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of discussion methods using zoom applications during the covid-19 pandemic on the results of learning brake steering courses and suspensions in the Department of Automotive Engineering Faculty of Engineering, State University of Padang. This study consisted of two sample classes, of which one class was an experimental class of 17 people and another class of 17 people as a control class. Discussion methods using zoom apps taught in experimental classes, while the control class without using the zoom-assisted discussion method, control class uses only e-learning platform as experimental class also uses. Sampling research using incidental sampling techniques. Data analysis to test hypotheses using T-test. Before the data is analyzed, conducted in advance descriptive analysis and test of analysis requirements (homogeneity test and normality test). The results prove that there is an influence of discussion methods using zoom applications on the learning outcomes of brake steering courses and suspensions. Keywords : Discussion Method, Zoom, Learning Outcomes, Covid 19 Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode diskusi menggunakan aplikasi zoom pada masa pandemi covid-19 terhadap hasil belajar mata kuliah kemudi rem dan suspensi di Jurusan Teknik Otomotif Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas sampel, dimana satu kelas merupakan kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 17 orang dan satu kelas lagi berjumlah 17 orang sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode diskusi menggunakan aplikasi zoom diajarkan pada kelas eksperimen, sedangkan kelas kontrol tanpa menggunakan metode diskusi berbantu zoom, kelas kontrol hanya menggunakan platform e-learning sebagaimana kelas eksperimen juga menggunakannya. Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik sampling incidental. Analisis data untuk menguji hipotesis menggunakan uji-T. Sebelum data dianalisis, dilakukan terlebih dahulu analisis deskriptif dan uji persyaratan analisis (uji homogenitas dan uji normalitas). Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh metode diskusi menggunakan aplikasi zoom terhadap hasil belajar mata kuliah kemudi rem dan suspensi. Abstract

Peningkatan polusi udara dan program percepatan kendaraan listrik nasional mendorong Universitas Negeri Padang untuk mengevaluasi transisi armada operasionalnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kelayakan ekonomi penggantian kendaraan konvensional (Defender) dengan kendaraan listrik (Challenger) menggunakan metode Equivalent Uniform Annual Cost (EUAC). Hasil analisis menunjukkan efisiensi biaya signifikan pada kategori roda dua, di mana Honda Em1 e memiliki nilai EUAC sebesar Rp 41.530, jauh lebih rendah dibandingkan Honda Vario A/T sebesar Rp 2.134.090. Sebaliknya, pada kategori bus, Bus Hino terbukti masih lebih ekonomis dengan EUAC Rp 36.231.650 dibandingkan BYD K9 sebesar Rp 453.247.311. Berdasarkan perhitungan tersebut, 29 dari 36 unit kendaraan (80,5%) direkomendasikan untuk segera diganti guna mengoptimalkan anggaran operasional. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa transisi selektif ke kendaraan listrik merupakan kebijakan strategis yang mampu meningkatkan efisiensi finansial jangka panjang sekaligus mewujudkan komitmen keberlanjutan lingkungan kampus (Green Campus). The rise in air pollution and the national acceleration program for electric vehicles have prompted Padang State University to evaluate the transition of its operational fleet. This study aims to analyze the economic feasibility of replacing conventional vehicles (Defender) with electric vehicles (Challenger) using the Equivalent Uniform Annual Cost (EUAC) method. The analysis results show significant cost efficiency in the two-wheeled category, where the Honda Em1 e has an EUAC value of Rp 41,530, substantially lower than the Honda Vario A/T at Rp 2,134,090. Conversely, in the bus category, the Hino Bus remains more economical with an EUAC of Rp 36,231,650 compared to the BYD K9 at Rp 453,247,311. Based on these calculations, 29 out of 36 vehicle units (80.5%) are recommended for immediate replacement to optimize the operational budget. These findings confirm that a selective transition to electric vehicles is a strategic policy capable of improving long-term financial efficiency while fulfilling the commitment to campus environmental sustainability (Green Campus).

Abstract

This study aims to develop Google Site-based learning media on Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) System Maintenance material for class XI students of Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering (TKRO) at SMK Negeri 1 Padang. The background of this study is based on the problems of learning that is still monotonous, less than optimal use of digital technology in the teaching and learning process, and low motivation and independence of student learning. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4-D development model that includes the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The research subjects consisted of two experts, namely media experts and material experts, two subject teachers, and 31 class XI TKRO students. Data collection techniques were carried out through validation questionnaires and practicality questionnaires. The results of the study showed that Google Site-based learning media has a very high level of validity based on the assessment of media experts by 93.33% and material experts by 90.00%. In addition, this media was considered very practical by teachers with a percentage of 94.25% and practical by students with a percentage of 78.2%. Thus, Google Site-based learning media is declared suitable for use as a learning tool to increase learning motivation, student independence, and learning effectiveness in the EFI System Maintenance material in vocational schools.

Abstract

This research focuses on the vocational interest and readiness to enter the workforce of students in the Light Automotive Engineering (TKRO) program at SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between students' vocational interest and their readiness to enter the workforce. This type of research is a descriptive study with a correlational approach. The study involved 64 students enrolled in Light Automotive Engineering (TKRO). The sample size taken for this research was 39 students, selected through stratified random sampling using the Taro Yamane formula. Questionnaires that have been declared valid and reliable were utilized to collect data regarding the students' vocational interest and their readiness to enter the workforce. The data analysis was conducted using the Product Moment correlation formula. The results of the data analysis indicate a positive and significant relationship between vocational interest and the readiness to enter the workforce among Light Automotive Engineering (TKRO) students at SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh, with a correlation coefficient of 0.442 (greater than 0.316) and a significance coefficient of 2.9982 (greater than 2.02269) at a 5% significance level.

Abstract

The limited availability of teaching materials in the Automotive Sensor Technology and Electronic Control course is an obstacle in learning, because the lecture process is still dominated by presentation media and lecturers’ explanations, causing students to experience difficulties in understanding abstract and technical material. In addition, no digital teaching materials are yet available to support students’ independent learning. This study aims to produce an e-book that is valid and feasible for use as a learning medium in the Automotive Sensor Technology and Electronic Control course. This study used the Research and Development method with the 4D model, which includes the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages, but its implementation was limited to the Develop stage. The research subjects consisted of two validators from the Department of Automotive Engineering, Universitas Negeri Padang. Data were collected using a validation questionnaire covering the aspects of material, media, language, and instructional design, then analyzed descriptively and quantitatively through the calculation of the product validity percentage. The results showed that the developed e-book had a very high level of validity, with a material validation percentage of 89.29%, media validation of 96%, language validation of 91.74%, and instructional design validation of 89.33%. The conclusion of this study affirms that the e-book for the Automotive Sensor Technology and Electronic Control course is declared very valid and feasible for use as a learning medium. These findings imply the provision of digital teaching materials that can support independent learning and help students understand technical material on automotive sensors and electronic control.
