Abstract

Steel is often used as crucial in the world of metal casting. This study aims to determine the effect of aluminum alloy fluid on the hardness of the crucible steel interface. The method begins with melting aluminum, copper, and tin according to each variant with a temperature of 700oC, then stirring on the liquid for 15 minutes and holding it for 30 minutes. From this research it is concluded that the addition of Cu (10% and 20%) in Al-Sn-Cu fluid causes hardness value at the interface layer area but the increase is not very significant.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of vegetable oil or water cooling media on the Hardening process on the value of the impact strength of S45C. The research method of the S45C steel sample was heated at 900˚C for 1 hour. The sample then in quenching the medium of water or vegetable oil is then tested for impact using the Charpy method. Research result. The value of impact strength of S45C steel is 0.416 Joule / mm2, Hardening (900˚C, 1 Hour) with Quenching Air media causing the value of impact strength to decrease from 0.416 Joule / mm2 to 0.135 Joule / mm2, Hardening (900˚C, 1 Hour) with media of Vegetable Oil Quenching causes the strength value to increase from 0.416 Joule / mm2 to 2,276 Joule / mm2, Microstructure in S45C steel "Raw Material" is ferrite and pearlite, Microstructure sample code "Quenching Air" is Martensite and Troostite, Microstructure sample code "Quenching MinyakSayur "is Bainit.Keywords. Abstract

Wire rope is made from several steel  wires a combined form a strand, a couple of strands twisted around the core to form a steel rope. One example of its usage is on the bridge to provide support for a heavy load. The steel wire is composed of several parts that is, steel wire, core and wire strand. Increasing the hardness of steel wire have the impact, the hardness of the steel wire. In an effort to improve the hardness of steel wire, there are opportunities to increase the hardness of steel wire with aluminizing method. The aim of this research is to find out the hardness of Wire in aluminizing process with alloys Al - Cu - Sn. Moreover to the research also aims to focus on the addition of Sn element in Al - Cu liquid. The methodology research was preceded by spliting wires from the wire rope. After that cut the wire into the sample wire. Then soak the wire into Al - Cu – Sn liquid at a temperature of 700ºC for ± 3 minutes. Elements of Sn which contained in the composition of Al - Cu - Sn vary from 0 % , 10 % and 20 % , while for CU’s component is 10 % and the rest of is Al, and the latter only elements of Al - Sn, without adding Cu element. Wire samples were then take away and cooled at room temperature, then test the wire by using micro hardness test, the test data was analyzed with Anova and finally made a conclusion. The results of this of this research showed that for the violence that occurs in the intermetallic layer shows the increase in value of hardness obtained on steel wire.

Abstract

Tujuan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini sebagai berikut: mensosialisaikan bahan alam Indonesia yang berpotensi untuk menjadi green inhibitor. Masyarakat mengetahui adanya peluang alternatif utk meningkatkan pemanfaat pohon atau tanaman tersebut. Membuka peluang utk memproduksi inhibitor. Metode Pengabidan kepada masyarakat adalah dengan penyuluh secara daring. Kesimpulan. Bahan alami indonesia yang berpotensi untuk dijadikan corrosion green inhibitor adalah kulit manggis, daun belimbing wuluh, tembakau, kulit jeruk, kulit mangga, daun pepaya, daun kakao, daun jambu biji, daun bawang dan daun cocor bebek. Metode maserasi digunakan untuk mengekstrak bahan alami. Metode uji kehilangan berat digunakan untuk mengetahui laju korosi baja. Mekanisme pencegahan korosi baja oleh inhibitor adalah pembentukan lapisan tipis / film yang menghlangi pada permukaan baja bersentuhan dengan lingkunan.

Abstract

Bersepeda bersama-sama teman atau gowes sekarang sudah menjadi sebuah trend. Komponen utama sepeda terbuat dari baja yang rawan terhadap korosi (karat) bila kontak dengan air dalam tempo yang lama. Tujuan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) adalah memberikan penyuluhan pada tentang pencegahan korosi di daerah perumahan. Tahapan pelaksanaan dimulai dengan pertemuan antara Tim PKM dengan mitra yaitu ketua RT 03/RW 022 Kelurahan Pengasinan, Kecamatan Rawalumbu, Kota Bekasi. Pada pertemuan awal diutarakan permasalahan mitra yang kemudian dilanjuti dengan pengajuan proposal ke Universitas Trisakti. Tim PKM kemudian berdiskusi kembali dengan Mitra dan bersepakat bahwa metode PKM adalah penyuluhan yang dilakukan secara daring pada 15 April 2022. Instruktur adalah Tim PKM sementara peserta penyuluhan adalah anggota masyarakat. Sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan dilakukan tanya jawab untuk mengetahui kepahaman atas materi penyuluhan. Pertanyaan yang diberikan oleh instruktur dapat terjawab oleh peserta. Pelaksanaan PKM dapat berjalan dengan baik atas dukungan mitra dan seluruh anggota masyarakat.
