Abstract

Abstract The use of information and communication technology to overcome problems at intersections has been widely used. However, these technologies are still focused on managing traffic and road users and has not been used to access information about the condition of traffic control devices. In the City of Tegal, the assessment of the traffic signal devices is conducted using manual system which requires large number officers. Therefore, a new system which can inform the traffic signal devices condition automatically is needed. In this study, an automatic information and monitoring system for traffic signal devices, called SIMAPILL, was designed by using SMS Gateway. This system can give information related to the condition of traffic signal equipment in real time. By utilizing the results of this study, traffic signal equipment problems can be solved easily, quickly, and accurately. Keywords: Traffic Signal Equipment, SMS Gateway, intersections, traffic  Abstrak Penggunaan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam mengatasi permasalahan di simpang telah banyak digunakan. Namun teknologi tersebut masih difokuskan pada pengaturan pengguna jalan dan lalulintas serta belum digunakan untuk mengakses informasi kondisi alat pengatur tersebut. Untuk mengetahui kondisi Alat Pemberi Isyarat Lalulintas di Kota Tegal saat ini masih digunakan sistem manual yang membutuhkan petugas dalam jumlah yang besar. Karena itu diperlukan suatu sistem baru yang dapat menginformasikan kondisi Alat Pemberi Isyarat Lalulintas secara otomatis. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan rancang bangun Sistem Informasi dan Monitoring Alat Pemberi Isyarat Lalulintas yang disebut SIMAPILL dengan menggunakan SMS Gateway. Sistem ini dapat memberikan informasi kondisi Alat Pemberi Isyarat Lalulintas secara real time. Dengan memanfaatkan hasil penelitian ini kegiatan monitoring Alat Pemberi Isyarat Lalulintas dapat dilakukan dengan mudah, cepat, dan akurat serta proses pengambilan keputusan untuk menangani alat-alat tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan segera. Kata-kata kunci: Alat Pemberi Isyarat Lalulintas, SMS Gateway, persimpangan, lalulintas

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing a Management Information System on employee performance improvement at the Serang City Department of Transportation. Management Information System serves as a tool for data management, reporting, and decision-making support based on information technology. The research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods, by distributing questionnaires to employees from various divisions within the Serang City Department of Transportation. The results show that a structured and integrated Management Information System significantly influences work effectiveness, task completion timeliness, and employee performance accountability. Supporting factors such as system usage training, Information and Communication Technology infrastructure readiness, and leadership commitment further strengthen the positive impact of Management Information System on employee performance. This study recommends strengthening human resources and continuously developing the system to improve transportation services and support bureaucratic reform in the Serang City Department of Transportation.
