Abstract

The study aims to analyze the effect of the learning model with a scientific approach on the learning outcomes of Buddhism and students' creative thinking skills. The study Employing quantitative research, this study carries out a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The research population is SMP Negeri Uggulan Doremi students, and the samples are the grade VIIA students in the 2020/2021 academic year. The instruments used are science learning outcomes tests and creative thinking skills tests. Descriptive statistics and T-test analyze data on learning outcomes and creative thinking skills. The results show that there is a significant difference in (1) learning outcomes between students who were taught using the direct instruction model and students who were taught using the scientific approach (p<0.05), and (2) students' creative thinking skills between students who were taught using the direct instruction model and students who are taught using the scientific approach (p<0.05). This study proves that the scientific approach is an effective learning model to improve student learning outcomes and creative thinking skills.

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive and complex world, students, students, or anyone involved in education often faces various challenges that can trigger stress. Academic stress is a significant phenomenon, because it has a direct impact on a person's well-being and academic performance. The background of this research emphasizes the need for an understanding of the impact of meditation before learning on the ability to deal with academic stress of Buddhist students. The questionnaire distribution method was used in this study, and the data analysis technique used was correlational statistical techniques. The results of the analysis showed that there was an effect of meditation before learning in dealing with the academic stress of Buddhist students at SMP Negeri 1 Kaloran. However, a value of X = 0.633 + 0.400 Y (percentage value or coefficient number) shows how much influence the meditation has. Thus, meditation before learning has a role in dealing with simple linear regression problems between education and the ability to handle academic stress of Buddhist students.

Abstract

Gambir leaves (Uncaria gambir Roxb) contain phenolic compounds that have the potential to act as sunscreen and have antibacterial activity. This study aims to determine the total phenolic content, SPF value of gambier leaf extract in vitro and antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes. Gambier leaf extract was made using the maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. Total phenolic content and sunscreen activity were tested by measuring absorption using UV-Vis spectrophotometry, while the antibacterial activity test used the agar well method. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel to test phenolic levels and SPF values, while for antibacterial activity using SPSS 25 with the One Way Anova test. The results showed that the total phenolic content of gambier leaf extract was 1.3322 mgGAE/g ± 0.2456 with ultra-protective SPF values at concentrations of 120, 100 and 80 ppm respectively, namely 31,94; 22,62; and 15,24. Gambir leaf extract has antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes with inhibitory diameters at concentrations of 50, 25 and 12.5% respectively, namely 23,67; 18,00; and 14,57 mm.
