Abstract

The text of the Bible as the basis for implementing Christian Education (CE) has several parts that seem ambiguous in its actualization. It can be seen in three groups of CE teachers and parents with their respective understandings. The first group considers that discipline is part of realizing the authority of teachers and parents at home, which is accompanied by firm punishment. The second group believes that corporal punishment is not permitted, and the third group believes that strict discipline and corporal punishment must be implemented. Still, it needs to be accompanied by an educational aspect. If so, how should CE teachers and parents at home as educators respond to the ambiguity of Proverbs 13:24, which seems to suggest applying a strict discipline pattern? The author uses a qualitative method with a hermeneutic research library approach for text interpretation. So it can be concluded that PAK teachers and parents at home, as much as possible, apply educational patterns with a firm attitude towards children as students but still have a "loving" heart attitude in educating.

Abstract

Today there are still Christian parents who do not understand their responsibilities as educators in inculcating Christian faith values for children from an early age at home. This study aims to explore the concept of Christian education for children as part of the responsibility of parents related to the vocation of Christian transformative pedagogy. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach. The results showed that Christian transformative pedagogy in Christian education for children focuses on the individuation process by Christian parents in educating autonomous children. This process is communicative and dialogical by a child, for himself and his parents as "I and the other-I" and God as the Other-I. The same process is carried out by parents to their children in their proximal environment as a process of individuation between "I and the other-me" in a future-oriented Christian transformative pedagogic call through creative imagination so that children become adults in Christ according to Bible.

Abstract

The urgency of this study aims to explain the actualization of Christian religious education which currently seems not to be going in rhythm with various expectations. This condition occurs because of the rapid demands of science and information networks development in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 intertwined with waves of disruption. It is ironic because, in practice, some teachers still use conventional patterns. This of course is tedious and burdensome. The author uses a qualitative method with a literature approach and concludes that the praxis of Christian religious education is intertwined with a transformative call in the semantic meaning of Matthew 11:28-30. Therefore, the actualization of Christian religious education must be passionate, provide relief, be interactive, and dialogical, and lead to an invitation to learn continuously by educators to students gently and pleasantly as the Lord Jesus did.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss technological disruptions that need to be addressed by Christian education teachers with adequate competence. Apparently, the rapid development of technology has created a dilemma for some Christian education teachers in Indonesia because they do not yet have adequate digital competence. Therefore, the qualitative method and the literature approach along with the thought analysis step are used to explore theoretical aspects and empirical facts. This is the effort made in several literatures such as books and journals. The results show that Christian religious education teachers should continue to improve their competence, including digital, spiritual and multiliteracy competencies that are responsive to the influence of Post-Truth in the era of technological disruption. Furthermore, Christian education teachers are responsible for utilizing the development of information technology, optimistic in increasing digital competence, in order to concretize the principles of multiliteracy education in a critical-reflective and effective manner on a variety of information for students in relation to the existence and social relations of a pluralistic society.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aimed to articulate an integral mission for marginalized communities. So far, The Great Commission has mostly been understood as a command to preach the gospel verbally for the purpose of converting other believers. Meanwhile, marginalized communities need a Gospel message that liberates them from all kinds of oppression. Therefore, a new perspective on mission is needed that can answer these needs. This study used a qualitative approach by starting from the text analysis of Matthew 9:35-36. The result of the analysis of the text showed that Jesus' mission was an integral one. The mission originated from a compassioned hearth and intended to answer every aspect of human needs.

Abstract

Abstract. The former mission paradigm often displays an arrogant, triumphalistic and imperialist face. Such missions often trigger disharmony in a society characterized by religious pluralism. Therefore, this paper intended to propose a new paradigm in missions by starting from the text Matthew 5:13-16 as a mission text, and not from the text Matthew 28:18-20 which is usually used as a paradigmatic text in missions. The method used in this study was context and literary analysis of Matthew 5:13-16. The result is that the mission should aim public glory for God, and not for the main aim of increasing the number of the religion adherent, through living production that is able to salt and light the public space.
