Abstract

One of the city community efforts to improve its economy is the cultivation of bird's nest. Bird's nest can be made at the shop (the home-stores) by conditioning the shop as same as habitat for birds swallow, so the bird nest cultivation has increased,  including in the District Pasar of Jambi city.bird's nest Cultivation also come with negative impact, i.e. influence on public health. One of them is against the vector density. To find increased density vector can be analyzed through the presence of larvae in the pond water of bird nest building (container index, CI) and in places the water in the home and outside the home (house index, HI) around the location of bird's nest.The results showed that the bird nest cultivation in Jambi City Market District affect vector density; obtained CI = 7.91% and HI = 14.24%. CI and HI of this magnitude exceed the value of ≤ 5% dengue endemic area of Jambi city.Key words : Burung walet, vektor, jentik, container index, house index

Abstract

Garbage timbulan estimation data of a city is important data that must exist for the city waste management planning of comprehensive and integrated from upstream to downstream. Timbulan saampah estimates the city preferably there should be every year or at least 5 years. Timbulan estimates data trash city of Jambi is data in 2005.To estimate the timbulan of garbage city are obtained by means of survey timbulan the garbage using SNI 19-3964-1994Timbulan Jambi city residents as much as junk 1755.05 m³/day. Its characteristics 32.98% organic and inorganic 67.02%. The composition of the organic waste of 32.98% and inorganic garbage of 67,02%.Keywords: garbage timbulan

Abstract

The Lake is an ecosystem of wetlands to note preserved. However, since the Lake is an open system that can also be utilized for the certain provisions tailored to support power and capacity of the Lake. One of the supported power and capacity of the Lake is the availability and quality of the water of the Lake. Sipin lakes located in the city of Jambi, have long been exploited by various parties, just that its utilization is not maximal for a variety of activities. To maximize its utility it is necessary to know the power support and power tampungnya. By knowing the power support and power tampungnya then it can be determined the allocation it is used so that will give you maximum results. One of the variables that need to be taken care of in order to use Sipin Lake against correspond to peruntukkannya is about the availability and quality of water. Study on quantity and quality of water of the Lake can be done by way of Sipin analyzed the data using the method of precipitation F.J. Mock. Water quality studies done by using water quality Index method of electronically Stored. F.J. method using Mock data to analyze rainfall from year 2005 until 2015, obtained that debit maximum inlet reach 4,870 m3/sec and the minimum discharge of 2,090 m3/sec.Method Stored i.e. testing kualiats Sipin lake water from year 2014 2016 disimpulkkan s/d that the water quality of Lake Sipin only in accordance with the requirements of the water quality of the IV. From fluctuations in discharge and water quality of the IV, then Lake peruntukaan Sipin can only be utilized to provide water gardening or urban businesses or other businesses that comply with the requirements of the water quality of the IV.Keywords: Lake, water quantity, water quality, allocation, and utilization.

Abstract

The increasing of palm oil mills as a result of an increase in public interest of land exploitation to produce  palm oil can cause high environmental pollution if the waste oil generated were not managed properly. Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) is the wastewater generated by palm oil extraction process. On the other hand, POME is a renewable energy source. To address the need for electrical energy increases, the monitoring of POME is an effort that needs to be studied because POME is no longer a pollutant to the environment but a helpful resource.This study uses field data collection in the form of POME volume and treatment plant process management to determine the COD levels so that the estimation of total biogas can be done. Based on the calculation of the energy potential of POME in Jambi province with  processing capacity of the entire Province amounted to 1,230 tons FFB / hour, 20 hours operating time / day and COD content of 50,000 mg / L, the amount of energy can be obtained is 737.712 MWh / day or 269.26 GWh / Year.Keywords: POME, biogas, energy
