Abstract

Stroke is a serious problem faced almost all over the world. The incidence of stroke varies between countries and places. Stroke ranks third largest in developed countries and is the third leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer. The disability due to stroke is generally higher than the mortality rate, globally 15 million people have a stroke each year, one third die and the rest experience permanent disability. Restoration of motor functions as a supporter of body movements in post-stroke clients is very important. This is because more than 85% of clients who suffer stroke have upper limb dysfunction. This Literature Study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Range of Motion (ROM) exercises on improving the ability of motion or independence of Activity Daily Living (ADL) in post-stroke clients. This study uses the literature review method by analyzing the results of previous studies. Search for articles was conducted on August 19 to August 31, 2019 through Pro-quest, Pubmed and Science Direct databases using the keywords Activity Daily Living AND Range of Motion AND Post Stroke, then article selection based on criterion of inclusion was carried out critical appraisal so that the relevant articles amounted 14 articles. From a number of studies conducted by previous researchers, it was found that there was a significant effect of Range of Motion training on increasing the ability of the stroke client's range of motion. The Range of Motion training program is effective in increasing the ability of the client's range of motion after a stroke so that it will have an impact on increasing the ability of clients to do daily living activities.

Abstract

Background: Elderly will experience various degenerative diseases due to decreased bodily functions. The common suffered by the elderly is hypertension. Hypertension causes psychological problems in the elderly and following by depressed and afraid of the condition they are experiencing.Purpose: To determine the description of depression among the elderly people with hypertension living in old folk homesMethod : A quantitative with a design cross-sectional, the sample taken by a total sampling of 41 elderlies with hypertension. They were living in old folk homes Ciparay- west java under Indonesian Department of Social Welfare. Measurement tool using Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) and screening by mini mental status examination (MMSE).Results: Finding of 10 elderlies (24.4%), without a symptom of depression, 24 (58.5%) had a mild depression, and 7 elderlies (17.1%) had a moderate depression.Conclusion: The most elderlies with hypertension can cause symptom of depression. Depressed and hypertensive in elderly, both symptoms need attention from management old folk home and health workers, to providing psychotherapy to help elderly hypertensive sufferers with depression change negative thought patterns or unproductive patterns that may as a trigger for the depression occurrence.

Abstract

Health problems in West Bandung regency is very complex. One of them is Hypertension is one of the chronic diseases that the number of events and complications that resulted in increasing from time to time. The condition of limited health personnel requires the involvement of health cadres as community empowerment so that people understand about hypertension. In addition, people do not regularly check blood pressure. This devotional activity is aimed at implementing community-based programs that facilitate the community in forming hypertension community groups and add knowledge and good behavior about the management of Hypertension in the Village of Rajamandala Kulon, West Bandung Regency. The methodology of research was one group pre post design with group training care hypertension to cadres and community leaders who measured knowledge, attitude and self-efficacy before and after training. The instruments used are knowledge, attitude and self-efficacy based on previous research. Data analysis uses frequency distribution and Wilcoxon. The result of this research was a significant difference of knowledge, attitude and group self-efficacy about Hypertension (p value <0,05). Through the formation of community-based Hypertension community groups that can be applied independently by the community through health cadres with the supervision of health workers who can impact on improving the health status of the people of West Bandung regency.

Abstract

Number of elderly in Indonesia in 2014 was reached 18.8 million lives and in 2025 would reached 36 million lives. Along with the increasing age, change of cognitive function on elderly was increased. Impaired cognitive function on elderly may caused alteration on personality and disrupting daily activity. If it took progressively, they can lead to dementia. By knowing dementia status on elderly in society it may be used as a database on developing program that related with elderly health in society. The aim of this research was to achieve description of dementia status on elderly in society. The method that used on this research was descriptive with quantitative approaches. Data collected by using Early Dementia Questionnaire (EDQ) on 98 elderlies took by used stratified random sampling technique at Puskesmas Ibrahim Adjie work area Bandung city. Univariat analysis has done to saw description of dementia status on elderly based on respondent characteristic. The result of this research obtained as many as 38 respondents with presentation 38.8% experienced early dementia and 60 respondents with 61.2% respondents belong to normal category

Abstract

Health problems in the elderly are characterized by a decrease in functional ability and adaptation which over time can cause dementia. The cause of dementia was important to know in order to reduce the incidence of dementia in the elderly. Knowing the status of dementia and its risk factors can be used as basic data in developing dementia prevention programs at the Puskesmas. This study aims to determine the relationship between education level and dementia status in the elderly who participate in Posbindu activities at Caringin Health Center. The design of this study was correlational with a retrospective approach, namely identifying secondary data on the relationship between education level and dementia status in the elderly in the Caringin Health Center working area with 125 elderly respondents. Data analysis in this study used a frequency distribution and Fisher's Exact. The results of this study showed that most of the respondents or about 84% had mild or normal dementia status. Chi Square test results with Fisher's Exact analysis. Obtained - value = 0.048 with a value of = <0.05, which means that there is a correlation between education level and dementia status in respondents in this study, which means that the higher the education level, the lower the chance of dementia. The implication of this research is the need for strategies that need to be carried out in optimizing the health of the elderly, especially the prevention of dementia and its management.
