Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk memberikan literasi sampah elektronik berbasis gender di kalangan generasi Z. Lokasi kegiatan dilakukan di Dusun Demen, Pakembinangun, Pakem, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Penulis merasa bahwa permasalahan sampah di Indonesia menjadi sebuah urgensi bersama yang harus kita selesaikan bersama masyarakat. Khususnya di Dusun Demen yang belum memiliki standar tata kelola sampah, dan fasilitas pembuangan sampah. Oleh karena itu, penting bagi masyarakat untuk dapat sepenuhnya memahami sampah, jenis-jenisnya, cara pengelolaannya, hingga imbas yang dihasilkan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan gender, agar dapat memberikan sebuah insight baru tentang peran gender dalam membentuk serta mentreatment sampah yang lebih efektif. Hasil kegiatan ini dapat disimpulkan sudah terlaksana dengan baik dan mencapai target yang telah ditetapkan. Pertama, remaja dusun Demen sudah cukup baik dalam memahami tentang sampah elektronik, sebagaimana target capaian mengedukasi dan evaluasi sampah elektronik. Kedua, para peserta juga sudah cukup baik dalam memahami tentang gender, sebagaimana target capaian program kegiatan kedua yakni diskusi dan refleksi berbasis gender. Ketiga, para peserta sudah mampu mengaitkan permasalahan sampah elektronik dengan perspektif gender, sebagaimana capaian target simulasi berupa permaian peran berbentuk game.

Abstract

One of the most accessible options for the public to build a digital ecosystem is to use social media in communication and socializing practices. This community service activity basically aims to provide training on making village promotional videos for youth groups in Dusun Demen, Pakembinangun, Pakem, Sleman, Yogyakarta, aged 16-20 years. Involving young people as participants in this video training activity is an urgency that is expected to represent Gen Z as active users of the YouTube networking media. The result of this activity is to make young people understand more about the function of social networking media, especially Youtube as a promotional medium. Almost all of the participants became more knowledgeable about procedures and implementing the basic techniques of making videos. They also gain experience and skills on how to direct a video production process. So, it is hoped that in the future young people will be more skilled and more skilled in creating videos that are published on the YouTube channel, especially in an effort to promote the village.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis praktik komodifikasi adegan humor dalam film dan serial TV Netflix yang dilakukan dalam akun jejaring media sosial Netflix Indonesia (@netflixid). Netflix sebagai perusahaan media yang berperan sebagai produsen sekaligus distributor film, banyak melakukan praktik komodifikasi konten untuk mencapai keuntungan lebih. Peneliti menggunakan paradigma kritis dan perspektif ekonomi politik media sebagai pisau analisisnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis tekstual deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data, peneliti mengurutkan dan melakukan klasifikasi konten yang dipublis dalam akun @netflixid. Peneliti menemukan sekitar 3 hasil temuan yakni: budaya netflixing dan binge yang memunculkan pengalaman dan cara baru dalam menonton film; freedom yang membahas tentang bagaimana kuasa kontrol film diberlangsungkan menjadi pilihan audiens (audiens choice), serta standarisasi pelayanan global dalam ranah teknis yang dilakukan Netflix.   This study aims to analyze the practice of commodifying humorous scenes in Netflix films and TV series which are carried out on the Netflix Indonesia social media network account (@netflixid). Netflix, as a media company that acts as a producer and distributor of films, carries out a lot of content commodification practices to achieve more profit. Researchers use the media critical paradigm and political economy perspective as a knife analysis. The method used is descriptive qualitative textual analysis. Data collection techniques, researchers sort and classify content published on the @netflixid account. Researchers found around 3 findings: netflixing and binge culture which gave rise to new experiences and ways of watching films; freedom, which discusses how the power to control films is extended to audience choice (audience choice), as well as the technical standardization of global services.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the discourse of Blackpink fan antagonism which is built through news by Kumparan.com. Kumparan as one of Indonesia's online news channels is assumed to be contributing to the contestation of perpetuating the antagonistic image of Kpop fans in Indonesia. The researcher uses the critical paradigm and Laclau's theory of discourse analysis as a tool for analysis. The method used is hegemonic and deconstructive analysis which is used to analyze research objects. The data collection technique uses hashtags and search features on the Kumparan site or platform. The news classification used as the research corpus is those belonging to the hashtags #Blackpink, #Blink, #Persija, #Jackmania (10 news stories in March 2023). There are 2 findings, firstly, the practice of platypus journalism carried out by Kumparan actually minimizes the exploration of in-depth information and does not represent the public's voice fairly. This actually gives rise to partiality and clarifies the agenda of the Kumparan media. Then, the second finding is that Blackpink fans (Blink) antagonism discourse is constructed using negative and quite provocative words. Moreover, Kumparan also helped build subject interpellation as a discursive strategy in building an antagonistic discourse field for Blackpink by presenting formal parties and supporting parties. Abstract

Since the emergence of internet media, digital music was born which then marked as a change in the dominance of conventional recorded music. It is slowly and surely replacing the roles of conventional media, starting from the production process, distribution, to the level of music consumption. One of the most prominent music streaming platforms today is Spotify. In practice, the music streaming platform Spotify acts as a cultural industry that seeks to obscure people's real needs. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method based on a critical paradigm. With the aim of analyzing power relations in cultural practices that have been built by the digital music industry, either through the media or by the owners of capital through the perspective of the political economy of communication media. There are 2 main findings as a result of the study. First, there are 5 forms of digital music standardization that emerged because of the Spotify platform. Second, there are 2 forms of culture created from the relationship and identity of digital music actors, namely, the trend of soloist musicians or music by do it yourself, and bargaining power between musicians and music labels. In the end, Spotify is the party who benefits the most because it acts as a mediator who provides services or services for digital music streaming providers.

Abstract

This study aims to see the depiction of the meaning of eastern culture in the Disney Princess film 2020-2021. Disney as a global film company that is very thick with stories of western culture is now slowly starting to reconstruct eastern culture as a manifestation of its tolerance and openness to cultural diversity in the world. The method used is a semiotic analysis of Roland Barthes' model which sees a message meaning based on symbols ideologically. Researchers chose 2 Disney Princess films, namely Mulan (2020) and the film Raya and The Last Dragon (2021) as objects of research. Data collection was done by film observation and literature study. Researchers do documentation by screenshotting scenes and scenes that show symbols of eastern culture in both films. Then the screenshot images will be sorted based on the type of scene classification. The results of this study there are 4 forms of meaning of eastern culture, namely ideology or belief, attitude towards nature, collectivism, and lifestyle. The four cultural forms are practiced every day as a form of eastern cultural image represented in these two Disney films. Ironically, Disney still preserves the orientalization and Otherness of Eastern culture as a colonialism of Western hegemony.
