Abstract

The succes of Higher Educational Institution in competing is highly depends on how the institution gives the satisfaction to customers through the creation of quality service. Many corporations have got their success because they are able to apply quality management principles. Total Quality Service (TQS) is a service quality management that can be used as strategic tools for Higher Educational Institution in the effort to get sustainable service quality improvement. In order to apply the TQS successfully, a Higher Educational Institution must be able to identify existing constraints.This research is intended to find potential constraints on the application of TQS and it was conducted in the Private University, School of Business, and Academy of Management/Accounting in Yogyakarta. This research is also to test the differences of potential constraints on the application of TQS among the Higher Education, that is Private University, School of Business, and Academy of Management/Accounting. Instruments used in this research are the same as the research instruments used by the previous research conducted by Ngai and Cheng (1999). The respondents of this research are faculties who have structural position in the Faculty of Economics in Private University, School of Business, and Academy of Management/Accounting.This research findings show that, in general, the potential constaints on the application of TQS in the Higher Education are cultural and employee factor, infrastructural factor, and organizational factor. Other findings also show that infrastructural factor is the main constraint, and is followed by cultural and employee factor, and organizational factor. By using a hypothetical testing with 95% confidence level, the conclusions of the findings are follow: there are no significant differences of the potential constraints on the application of TQS in the higher education; there are no significant differences of the potential constraint on the application of TQS between Private University and School of Business; and there are significant differences of the potential constraint on the application of TQS between Private University and Academy of Management/Accounting, and School of Business with Academy of Management/ Accounting.Keywords: potential constraints, Total Quality Service, service quality, customer

Abstract

The trend of facilitating technological devices for students in the classroom still becomes controversial among teachers, whether these devices can be effectively applied or conversely. This study aims at revealing students’ collaboration effectiveness using smartphones. 528 teachers of primary and secondary schools in Sleman District, Indonesia involved as the respondents. Data collection used self-rated questionnaire indicating teachers’ perceptions and was analyzed by descriptive and factor analysis tests. The results confirmed that learning and discussion with peer, comfortableness with learning activity, dynamic learning atmosphere, mutual appreciation when giving feedback, mutual respect with peer, and collective usage encourages a good habit of learning descriptively engaged students’ collaboration effectiveness, whereas one factor, peer’s social relationships with teachers gain better showed its ineffectiveness. Further, the principal component sequentially adjudged the position of seven perceived factors with the Eigenvalue and the factorial analyses affirmed two rooted components with a total factor of 72.97%, where component 1 gained 67.16% and component 2 gained 5.81%. Using smartphones coherently need an exploration and an engagement through the social mechanism to support students’ learning activities.

Abstract

Penilaian kinerja akan sangat memiliki makna apabila diikuti oleh kesadaran, pengetahuan, pemahaman dan kehendak yan kuat dari aparatur perpajakan Kantor Pelaya¬nan Pajak Yogyakarta Dua untuk mau menyadari kekurangannya, mengetahui dan memahami apa yang dibutuhkan konsumen seraya berusaha optimal mengubah diri menjadi penyedia layanan jasa perpajakan sesuai dengan tuntutan konsumen.Penelitian dengan topik kualitas layanan ini dimaksudkan untuk memberikan in¬formai, petunjuk dan arah bagi banyak pihak khususnya Kantor Pelayanan Pajak Yogyakarta Dua dalam rangka menilai kinerja layanan jasa perpajakan, menemukan titik kelemahan dan kekurangan yang akhirnya melakukan perbaikan guna memberikan layanan yang prima bagi konsumen.

Abstract

Iklan bertujuan untuk mengenalkan, membujuk, dan mengingatkan pembeli mengenai keberadaan suatu produk dan meningkatkan penjualan. Musik merupakan salah satu unsur periklanan. Penggunaan iklan dengan latar belakang musik akan efektif dalam pengingatan merek dan pesan-pesan yang disampaikan sampai akhirnya konsumen bersedia melakukan pembelian produk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh iklan televisi menggunakan background musik terhadap recall audience. Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi variabel recall audience sebagai variabel terikat, variabel jingle iklan, bintang iklan, dan tema iklan sebagai variabel bebas. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi berganda. Kontribusi seluruh variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat sebesar 86,3%. Dari hasil perhitungan regresi diketahui bahwa keseluruhan variabel secara bersama-sama berpengaruh terhadap recall audience, tetapi secara parsial hanya variabel jingle iklan yang berpengaruh secara signifikan.

Abstract

ISO 9000 telah diterima secara luas sebagai acuan sistem manajemen kualitas dan penjaminan kualitas. Perusahaan-perusahaan yang memperoleh sertifikasi ISO dari tahun ke ke tahun mengalami pertumbu¬han yang pesat. Dengan implementasi dan memperoleh sertifikasi ISO 9000, banyak perusahaan di dunia mem¬peroleh peningkatan kinerja. Meskipun demikian, implementasi ISO 9000 juga dihadapkan pada sejumlah ham¬batan. Implementasi ISO 9000 seringkali dikaitkan dengan Total Quality Management (TQM). Banyak pihak yang menyatakan bahwa implementasi ISO 9000 sebagai langkah awal implementasi TQM. Namun antara ISO 9000 dengan TQM memiliki perbedaan yang mendasar. Oleh karena itu ISO 9000: 2000 sebagai revisi terhadap ISO 9000: 1994 didasarkan pada semangat total quality dan dipahami sebagai upaya lebih mendekatkan ISO 9000 dengan TQM.Kata kunci: ISO 9000, ISO 9001, ISO 9002, ISO 9003, ISO 9004, Total Quality Management

Abstract

Hasil-hasil riset terdahulu meyebutkan keunggulan bersaing bidang pemasaran atau kompetensi pemasaran mempunyai pengaruh positif terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Sejumlah studi bidang pemasaran telah mengarah pada penjelasan kinerja bisnis dan berusaha menghubungkan kompetensi bidang pemasaran dalam mempenga¬ruhi kinerja perusahaan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada perusahaan dalam industri manufaktur di Indonesia untuk menguji kembali konsep hubungan sumber keunggulan bersaing bidang pemasaran dengan hasil kinerja perusahaan. Tujuan lain penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh bukti empiris mengenai pengaruh kompetensi bidang pema¬saran terhadap kinerja perusahaan yang diukur dengan pangsa pasar (market share) dan pertumbuhan pangsa pasar (market share growth) dan menguji serta menganalisis pengaruh sumber-sumber keunggulan bersaing bidang pe¬masaran terhadap kinerja perusahaan-perusahaan manufaktur di Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia is a multicultural country rich in culture. One culture that still is in the form of tradition mantenan sustainable or traditional Javanese wedding. During the procession of events taking place mantenan language using the Java language. In supporting the smooth and successful series of wedding procession that is so sacred, one of the driving forces is the role of organizers (MC) which uses the Java language introduction adicara institutions. The desire of people RT-03 Pedukuhan Somodaran, Banyuraden village to preserve the traditional wedding ceremony Yogyakarta, the main attraction. However, the village is still shortage of professionals in performing marriage ceremonies Yogyakarta. One reason is the lack of knowledge and understanding of the custom wedding procession Yogyakarta is still low. In addition, the human resources that can act as guides and teaching institution with an intermediary adicara Java language still small in number.In this study objectives to be achieved are: improving public speaking skills and have the ability as an intermediary institution with the Java language adicara need a comprehensive effort. One alternative that is done is a method of skills development and training in public speaking skills intermediary institutions adicara with the Java language. Participants will be given training to be pranacara various wedding events, namely: pranacara application, peningsetan adicara institutions, institutions adicara consent, midodareni adicara institutions, and institutions adicara Panggih. The method used is setting the example by instructors and practice directly by the participants.Some of the findings in the training process are: supporting the smooth and successful series of wedding procession that is so sacred, one penunjangnnya is the role of organizers (MC) which uses the Java language introduction adicara institutions. In addition to the welcome speeches from both candidates keluaraga groom and women (public speaking) using the Java language supporting the ongoing success of the wedding procession. After training and simulation, public confidence in Somodaran hamlet, village Banyurade will gradually increase and also the increase in professionals as MC in the event mantenan. The public will learn to plan, create structure and practice of bringing the event in front of an audience. The training is designed with an informal atmosphere and the risk-free personal feedback where needed on each individual to know the obstacles faced when he became institutions adicara (MC) with intermediate Java language.
