Abstract

Pada dasarnya proses pendidikan merupakan bagian dari kegiatan untuk membentuk konstruksi kultural masyarakat yang menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai egalitarianisme, keadilan, demokratis, dan seterusnya. Pendidikan sebagai institusi sosial memberikan peran terhadap trasformasi dan internalisasi nilai-nilai kultural masyarakat. Sehingga proses konstruksi kultural masyarakat tersebut menjadi bagian dari semangat untuk membentuk masyarakat pancasilais. Maka, pendidikan tidak layaknya “menara gading” yang menjauhkan diri dari realitasnya. Karena pendidikan sendiri tidak akan terlepas dari suatu fakta sosial. Karena itu, menurut ahli sosiologi pendidikan, terdapat relasi resiprokal (timbal balik) antara pendidikan dengan kondisi sosial masyarakat yaitu dapat menumbuhkan nalar kritisisme sosial. Pendidikan islam harus mampu beradaptasi sekaligus bersinergi dengan social wisdom yang dalam realitasnya memungkinkan sangat beragam. Beragam kultur yang muncul di masyarakat diposisikan sebagai sumber sekaligus orientasi islam, agar pendidikan islam terus eksis dan diterima oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

This article discusses the religious thoughts of K.H. Abbas Abdul Jamil regarding manhaj in carrying out preaching and social approaches and solutions to problems in society. Since the literature discussing the figure of K.H. Abbas Abdul Jamil Buntet mostly talks about his struggle and heroism, this research aims to explain the other side of K.H. Abbas Abdul Jamil regarding religious thought and his approach to society. The researchers used a qualitative approach to discuss K.H. Abbas Abdul Jamil's thoughts. Data were obtained through interviews with families and santri (students)/alums regarding daily life and how to educate santri. The data were then analyzed with related literature. The results of this study revealed that, among others, the approach to society taken by K.H. Abbas Abdul Jamil in carrying out his preaching mission was through a shar’i approach by applying qawā'id fiqhiyyah and an approach to the culture and habits of the community. In conclusion, societal problems need to be solved using the right approach. K.H. Abdul Jamil intelligently used his qawā'id fiqhiyyah analysis skills and socio-cultural approaches as his manhaj preaching.

Abstract

The focus of this research is the implementation of the Qur'anic halaqoh program at MAS Tihamah Putri during the 2022/2023 academic year. The main goal of religious (Islamic) education is student diversity, not just religious understanding, which is the center of the study. In other words, religious (Islamic) education prioritizes being (religion or life) over just knowing (knowing religious teachings and values) or doing (being able to do what is known) after being taught at school. Islamic education focuses more on morals, students not only learn the language, but also have the desire and habit to apply religious teachings and values in daily life. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the halaqoh program affects students' Tartilul Qur'an skills at MAS Tihamah Putri in the 2022/2023 academic year. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. The purpose of this study was to collect data about the implementation of the halaqoh program at MAS Tihamah Putri. Data about the halaqoh program were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The study involved teachers, students, and the principal. Furthermore, the results of data collection will be tested for data validity and analyzed starting from data collection, reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study can be concluded that this halaqoh program is quite effective in improving Tartilul Qur'an skills at Madrasah Aliyah Tihamah Putri. This halaqoh program is expected to provide added value for students in madrasah. With this program, it is expected that students will be better and istiqomah in reading the Qur'an. Abstract

This paper discusses the issue of cultural and religious diversity in Indonesia and the urgency of multicultural Islamic education as a solution to social conflicts with SARA backgrounds. Issues such as radicalism, group fanaticism, and intergroup violence show a weak understanding of the plurality of Indonesian society. Historically, religious and ethnic conflicts have left a dark record, showing the importance of an inclusive and tolerant perspective in social life. Education has a strategic role not only to educate, but also to shape cultured and noble human beings. This paper uses a social phenomenology approach and literature study and ethnography methods to explore how the transformation of religious values can be done through culture. The author emphasizes the importance of multicultural education in Islamic education as a medium to shape students' inclusive attitudes. Acculturation between culture and religion is seen as a form of dialectic between divine revelation and the social reality of society. Islam, as a universal religion, is not present in an empty cultural space, but rather dialogues and transforms with local culture. In this context, education becomes a strategic space to reconstruct a harmonious understanding of religion and culture, in order to create a peaceful, tolerant and civilized society. This study is presented as a reflection on social anxiety and the challenges of education in responding to the complexity of life in a multicultural society in Indonesia.
