Abstract

A set of software requirements is an important element in software development. Engineers realize that requirements are interrelated. The interconnections between requirements indicate interdependences between requirements. This interdependence is crucial in decision-making processes of requirement engineering, such as a change management requirement, a version launch plan, and a requirement management. Researchers have been focused on visualizing dependency between requirements, analyzing the impact of changes in software by using changes to UML class diagrams, and predicting bug occurrences based on dependencies between requirements. Previous studies assumed that the requirements dependency information was pre-build by requirements engineer during the previous development process. This paper introduces a method that builds a requirements dependency model. The model was built based on realization associations between requirements and classes in the system design as well as dependencies between classes. The modeling process used semantic similarities between the requirements and the classes. A class is said to have a realization association with a requirement if and only if the semantic similarity is higher than a certain threshold. The output obtained from the dependent software development method was compared with the output produced by annotators. The method reliability was measured by the level of agreement between the method and the annotator using kappa statistical index. The preliminary result shows that the method was fair agreement (0.37) reliable as an annotator when generating requirements dependency graph.

Abstract

Academic writing is one of important skill to have students in tertiary education, including students of Information Technology Diploma. Using Systemic Functional Linguistics Genre Pedagogy (SFL GP), the students report writings are investigated, his research aims at investigating how students comprehend SFL GP in their report writing and find out the relationship between students’ knowledge of SFL GP with their language proficiency. The texts are analyzed using the genre division by Rose and Martin. The results of the analysis will be used to investigate if the knowledge of genre writing for technology-based students is related to their language proficiency. This research contributes to better use of genre pedagogy for science students, more specifically, students of Information Technology.

Abstract

RRequirements association depicts inter-relation between two or more requirements within a software project. It provides necessary information for developers during decision-making processes, such as change management, development milestones, bug prediction, cost estimation, and work breakdown structure generation. Modeling association between requirements became a focus of software requirements researchers. Previous studies indicate that requirements association was pre-defined by requirements engineer based on their expert judgments. The judgments require knowledge on requirements and their class realizations. This paper introduces a method to generate a mapping between a set of requirement statements and a set of classes of a given project that realized the respected requirements. The method also generates associations among requirements based on information on associations between classes and the class-requirement mapping. The method utilizes element of relational information resided in a class diagram of respected project. A semantic similarity method was used to define the requirements with their realization classes. A class is considered realizing a requirement if and only if their semantic similarity is higher than a certain threshold. A set of experimentation on four different projects was conducted. The result of the approach was compared with the output produced by human annotators using kappa statistics. The approach is considered as having a fair agreement level (i.e. with kappa value 0.37) with the human annotators to identify and model requirement associations.

Abstract

In today's technological era, it cannot be denied that advanced knowledge and the way humans think can be written with a series of experiments on knowledge base engineering through protégé. At this time, a user has an interest in finding the regional origin of certain types of instruments. However, there are times when users enter different names for the same location. This study asks the ontology model to integrate two different domains, namely the licensed domain and location lending. The trick is to use owl: sameAs. From the result of test, it can be seen that the new ontology model can answer questions related to instrumens and locations. Whereas in this study the focus is on combining 2 ontology schemes, namely instruments and Geonames from East Nusa Tenggara and North Sumatera. Instrument ontology has parameters that will be related to geonames ontology that cosist of technique, material, place and geonames.

Abstract

The information and communication development technology continues relentlessly. Especially when it comes to knowledge, data plays a significant role. In this case, one of the services obtained from the internet is website access. There is a wide variety of  information provided by the website, one of which is the job opening website. Many people searching for work have difficulty because the information provided by the concerned often makes applicants disappointed because of the delay in data that has not mentioned the number of requirements needed. This study explores user responses to website containing job openings in one particular Toba district.  Designing a web-based job application using the PHP programming language and MySQL as the database became a solution for the problem. The application for a job search in Toba Regency itself has never existed. This application can simplify job seekers to find job vacancies information and the employers can add job vacancies. The application development model used is the waterfall method. We chose this method because this method provides sequential and systematic development steps in developing software. The waterfall stages used in this website consist of communication, planning, modeling, and construction.
