Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between locus of control and social loafing of students on group-based tasks. The results of the study of 300 students in the University of North Sumatra showed there is a positive relationship between locus of control and social loafing. The data obtained in this study indicates that the more internal a person's locus of control, the lower the tendency to decrease their effort on working in a group. The majority of subjects have lowtendency to do social loafing and prefer to work in small groups. There is no gender difference either in subject‟s locus of control or on the tendency to do social loafing. Collectivistic belief in Indonesian society may be one of the causes of students‟s low tendency to do social loafing

Abstract

English This research examines the effects of fear of missing out on cyberloafing. Individuals who experience fear of missing out are afraid to miss a pleasant experience. The individual will try to stay connected with others through social media. The study hypothesized that fear of missing out would be positively related to cyberloafing, which refers to behavior of accessing the internet for non-academic activities. As expected, the results show that fear of missing out accounted for about 22 per cent of the variance of cyberloafing. Those who are more afraid of missing out tended to engage more cyberloafing than those who are less fear of missing out. Abstract

The This study aims to examine the effect of religious commitment on attachment to a place of worship. Emotional attachment to a place affects a person's emotions, including to a place of worship. A person who has an attachment to a place will also affect the frequency of his activities in that place. and can also reduce stress. The research method used in this study is descriptive quantitative with an incidental sampling method. The sample in this study amounted to 197 subjects. Data collection used a Likert scale, namely the scale of religious commitment and place attachment. The analysis method used is a simple regression analysis method. Based on the results of the study, the Tcount value is 10.676 and it is known that Ttable is equal to 1.645. It is said that Tcount is greater than Ttable, so the alternative hypothesis in this study is accepted. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of religious commitment on place attachment in a place of worship.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between gullibility and the bandwagon effect among binary option traders. Gullibility is defined as an individual's tendency to trust others excessively, even in the presence of cues suggesting dishonesty. Highly gullible individuals are more likely to follow group decisions without critical verification, making them susceptible to the bandwagon effect—a phenomenon in which people adopt behaviors simply because many others are doing the same. This research employed a quantitative correlational approach with 125 participants who were active binary option traders. Data were collected using validated gullibility and bandwagon effect scales. The results revealed a significant positive correlation between gullibility and the bandwagon effect (r = 0.520; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that the higher an individual's gullibility, the greater their tendency to be influenced by the bandwagon effect in trading decision-making.

Abstract

Technology development has brought about a lot of changes in the business world, especially when it comes to online transactions, which has made the internet market quite successful. The online market has changed by using social media as a platform for e-commerce. Live streaming was the first step toward the emergence of social commerce. Because consumers have a high level of purchasing interest, which is affected by entertainment elements, live streaming has become popular. Immersion is the mediating variable used in this study to examine the indirect impact of entertainment on purchase interest. The purpose of this study is to investigate how entertainment affects consumers' inclination to buy, using social commerce live streaming as a mediating factor. A quantitative approach is used in this study, using a sample of 350 participants. A Likert scale that includes metrics for immersion, entertainment, and purchase interest is used to collect data. The study's findings show that: 1) Entertainment has a positive and significant influence on purchasing interest in social commerce live streaming, 2) Entertainment has a positive and significant impact on immersion in social commerce live streaming, 3) Immersion has a positive and significant influence on purchasing interest in social commerce live streaming, 4) Entertainment has a positive and significant influence on purchasing interest through immersion as the mediating variable in social commerce live streaming. Therefore, the influence of entertainment on consumer purchasing interest can be achieved either through immersion as a mediating variable or directly, without necessitating immersion as an intermediary.
