Abstract

Today, business activities seem to have shifted towards green business with the inception of women entrepreneurs who are more environmentally conscious. This study aims to examine the behaviour construction of women entrepreneurs' intention towards green business in Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 122 women entrepreneurs using simple random sampling, which were then processed by PLS-SEM. This study found that green behavioural intention among women entrepreneurs in Indonesia reflects their environmental concern with a strong solid vision to create the change. The argument that market rationality will mediate green business behaviour and predicted as a barrier factor to their intention of having business with environmental concerns was not proven. This study argues that women entrepreneurs with green business initiatives in Indonesia belong to the visionary champion type, an entrepreneur who takes themselves as agents of change. Increasing the number of women entrepreneurs with green business initiation in Indonesia will favour Indonesia's future economy and sustainability. The nurture of women's role in spreading knowledge allows them to create their market by educating the market with their green image and offering alternatives. The government needs to pay strict attention and formulate policies on encouraging women entrepreneurs in Indonesia, particularly those starting their business with environmental consciousness. Abstract

Rural has become a prime headline for Indonesia’s development since the enactment of the Rural Act. Since the ratification, rural governments in Indonesia have more authority to manage their village economy through the establishment of a Bumdes. Unfortunately, although several Bumdes show good performance, most have problems that hamper their growth. This article stems from the researchers’ desire to observe the contribution of entrepreneurial activities in the village to rural resilience. This research applied qualitative research by interviewing rural stakeholders in nine Bumdes. The findings of the study indicate that low commitment from village heads and Bumdes directors, low motivation from Bumdes management, inadequate business knowledge from Bumdes management, rural political dynamics, and fluctuations in community participation are all obstacles to Bumdes' ability to promote rural resilience. This research demonstrates that in order to attain rural resilience, Bumdes requires a more holistic strategy to promote stakeholder attachment. https://doi.org/10.21632/irjbs.14.3.257-266

Abstract

Green cosmetics have an added value where they are not only made of natural ingredients, but also being produced with less pollution, free from animal cruelty and using less of non-renewable materials. Previous research shows that environmental concerns tend to have a significant effect on the purchase intention of the green cosmetics. Yet, consumers react differently toward the idea of green cosmetics itself, it becomes important to have solid understanding on the internal and external factors that lead to a purchase decision. This research aims to understand Indonesian consumers’ behavior toward green cosmetics by adapting the theory of reasoned action (TRA) framework. It focuses on how consumers’ attitude toward green cosmetics and subjective norms could affect the purchase intention, which would later affect the purchase decision. This research conducted using the survey method. The questionnaire consists of 5 Likert scales. The data analysis of this research was conducted by using the latent variable analysis (lavaan) packages on RStudio. From the test results, it was found that attitude and subjective norm positively affect purchase intention. Then, purchase intention and environmental responsibility have a positive effect on the purchase decision of green products. This study contributes to the literature of green marketing, and future research is expected to reach more green cosmetic users to be more representative.

Abstract

The enactment of the Village Law marks the beginning of the rural development transformation through Village Owned Enterprise (VOE) implementation. In Indonesia, 45,549 VOEs have been established in 83,931 villages. VOEs are developed with a social business model to provide economic and social benefits to the community. Unfortunately, VOEs demonstrating satisfying performance in Indonesia have not reached 600. This research focused on discovering significant factors influencing VOEs’ ability to accomplish their best economic and social performance and proposed a success pattern that other VOEs could adapt to their natural and human assets. This study adopted a qualitative mono-method with 24 sources, varying from village government officers, directors and personnel of VOEs, academicians, and other parties, focusing on exploring three VOEs with accomplishments. The findings uncovered six propositions that must be fulfilled for VOEs to attain the necessary success concerning social and economic performance. These results suggested that the village government’s commitment, the VOEs’ management professionalism, and the village community’s involvement must cooperate to produce a balanced social and economic performance. This discovery also suggested VOEs to reflect and reproduce local knowledge trough take an advantage of their distinctive natural and human resources.
