Abstract

Anemia is a significant micronutrient problem in pregnant women, with a global prevalence of 41.8%. In Indonesia, 48.9% of pregnant women experience anemia, resulting in health risks for both mother and baby, including low birth weight and death. The administration of iron (Fe) tablet supplements is one of the solutions to reduce the anemia rate. Despite the government's efforts, such as the distribution of Fe tablets, the compliance of pregnant women at the UPTD of the Singandaru Health Center in Serang City is still low. At the UPTD Singandaru Health Center, Serang City, there are 58% pregnant women with anemia in the January-December period in 2022 and in 2023 as much as 60% of this data is obtained from the UPTD Singandaru Health Center. The researcher made 16 respondents and obtained non-compliance results from the ANC compliance category as many as 10 respondents (62.5%), compliance as many as 6 respondents (37.5%). The category of Fe tablet consumption in pregnant women was affected by anemia in the non-compliant category as many as 11 respondents (68.8%). Meanwhile, for the compliant category as many as 5 respondents (31.3%), the category of compliance with family support for pregnant women and compliance with family support in the category of non-compliance were 11 respondents (68.8%). As for the compliant category, there were 5 respondents (31.3%). The role of health workers The role of health workers in the category of no role was as many as 3 respondents (18.8). Meanwhile, the role of health workers in the category of existing or assisting as many as 13 respondents (81.3%). The Chi Square results of 4 variables obtained a value, ANC visit compliance received a value of 0.551, Fe tablet consumption compliance received a value of 0.119, family support compliance received a value of 0.119, and the role of health workers received a value of 0.247.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the physical condition of the home environment and history of disease with the incidence of tuberculosis or pulmonary tuberculosis in the work area of the Rangkasbitung Health Center in 2023. This study is a descriptive correlation study with cross sectional design, which is research that explores the relationship between the physical condition of the house and the behavior of residents towards the incidence of tuberculosis. The type of data used is primary data, from the results of questionnaires and secondary data obtained from recording and reporting TB patient visit data at the Rangkasbitung Health Center. Data analysis in the study, using univariate analysis with positive TB incidence results (69.2%); Bivariate analysis showed a relationship between home air circulation and the incidence of tuberculosis (P<0.028), occupancy density (P<0.011), lighting (P<0.015), humidity (P<0.020), education (P<0.002), employment (P<0.006), and smoking (P<0.009); and humidity factor being the dominant factor with the largest OR (OR=28.579). The results of the cross-sectional test in the study, showed a significant relationship between the physical condition of the home environment and the history of disease with the incidence of tuberculosis in the work area of the Rangkasbitung Health Center. Suggestions in this study are the need for education related to environmental factors and behaviors that cause tuberculosis, such as counseling about healthy homes with qualified ventilation, good lighting, good humidity, occupancy in an adequate place, and reducing cigarette use habits. Other factors that need to be improved, in order to support the reduction in TB prevalence rates, namely education and employment factors. Patients with pulmonary tuberculosis must also be given understanding, related must always be tried to be in a place that has adequate air ventilation and good humidity, in order to reduce the risk of the severity of TB disease which can lead to death or the duration of the treatment process.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is a free school lunch initiative in Indonesia introduced during the administration of Prabowo Subianto. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the government's MBG (Free Nutritious Meal) program on kindergarten students' learning interest through a literature review approach. The background of this study is based on the issue of low student learning interest, which is influenced not only by pedagogical factors but also by physical conditions, particularly nutritional intake. This research employed a qualitative approach using a literature review method. The data sources consisted of scientific articles published within the last five years and accessed through Google Scholar. Data were collected through documentation studies, while thematic synthesis was used for data analysis. The findings indicate that the MBG program has a significant positive impact on improving students' learning interest, particularly in terms of attention, motivation, participation, and attendance. The results also reveal that meeting students' physiological needs contributes to their cognitive and emotional readiness to learn. However, the effectiveness of the program is influenced by the quality of its implementation and management in the field. Therefore, more optimal program management and continuous evaluation are needed to maximize its impact on improving the quality of learning.

Abstract

High consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) has become an increasing public health concern, particularly among adolescents. Excessive SSB intake is a major risk factor for various non-communicable diseases, including type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, dental caries, and certain types of cancer. This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with the level of sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption among adolescents. This study employed a descriptive literature review approach. Data were obtained from national and international journals relevant to the topic of SSB consumption among adolescents. The selected articles were analyzed to identify factors associated with SSB consumption. The findings indicated that SSB consumption among adolescents is influenced by several factors, including individual factors (gender and knowledge), socioeconomic factors (peer influence and pocket money allowance), environmental factors (mass media exposure and beverage availability), and psychological factors (stress level and preference for sweet tastes). This study highlights that SSB consumption is a multifactorial behavior influenced by various interacting determinants. Therefore, comprehensive interventions targeting both individual and environmental factors are needed to reduce SSB consumption among adolescents.

Abstract

Laboratories are work environments that contain various physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards that may lead to occupational accidents and work-related diseases. The implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is therefore essential to ensure the safety and well-being of laboratory personnel. Previous studies have shown that the successful implementation of OHS is influenced by several factors, including knowledge, attitudes, and the availability of safety facilities. This study employed a literature review method by examining 10 scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026. The selected articles were identified based on topic relevance, variable suitability, and full-text availability. Data were analyzed descriptively through a synthesis of research findings. Most of the reviewed studies indicated that OHS knowledge was significantly associated with the implementation of safe work practices. Positive attitudes toward occupational safety were found to enhance compliance with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs). Furthermore, the availability of safety facilities, such as PPE, fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, adequate ventilation, evacuation routes, and laboratory SOPs, was shown to support the effective implementation of OHS. Knowledge emerged as the most dominant factor compared to other variables. In conclusion, knowledge, attitudes, and the availability of safety facilities significantly influence the implementation of OHS among laboratory personnel. Strengthening OHS education, fostering a safety culture, and providing adequate safety facilities are necessary to improve the effectiveness of OHS implementation in laboratory settings.
