Peripheral vascular and sensory to motor neuropathy disease are the highest complications of diseases and frequently found in diabetes mellitus case. Diabetik foot spa is one of the therapies to boost patient’s blood circulation also provide a relax feeling for patient’s feet, therefore this activities aims to observe the effectiveness of diabetik foot spa treatment to the patients of diabetes mellitus to minimize diabetik neuropathic. This study used a quasi-experimental research design with pretest-posttest techniques, took action in two groups, the intervention group and Kontrol group, each group consist of 25 samples in 4 weeks of observation period at “Puskesmas Sunggal”. Found that there was a significant point result on the Paired Samples t-test pretest-posttest test with p value= 0.000 at the 0.05 level for the intervention group in the comparison result before action and after and on the other hand in the Kontrol group was found p value result with 0.587 at the 0.05 level. This study shows that respondents who were given the diabetik foot spa in the intervention group had better feeling and sensation after than before the treatment were given to the patients

Abstract

In dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, it is necessary to have the participation of the community in synergy with the government, so that it can break the chain of the spread of Covid-19. The country's success in dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak cannot be separated from the community's compliance with the rules and policies made by the government, one of which is by applying the 5M method as an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This  research  was  aimed To know the level of knowledge of SMKN 1 PST students about preventing the spread of the Corona Virus with 5M. This research is a quantitative study using a quantitative descriptive research design using univariate data analysis. Univariate analysis to describe descriptively the frequency distribution of respondents' demographic data consisting of: gender, age, class. The knowledge level variable will describe the amount and level of knowledge with a level presentation. The results showed that the average age of the respondents was at the age of 17 years, namely 52 people (53.11%). The gender of the majority of the respondents was 50 men (52.08%). And each response is in the same class average between class X, XI and XII, namely 34.33%, 33.33% and 32.39%. Presentation of knowledge level: good knowledge 40 people (41.67%), sufficient knowledge 36 people (37.50%) and less knowledge 20 people (20.83%). The results of this study indicate that there are students who have less knowledge as much as 20.83%.

Abstract

The gap that occurs at the time of handover of the patient is due to incomplete communication so that it can cause disruption in the continuity of nursing which has the potential to endanger the patient. The implementation of patient handover (handover) basically transfers care information and responsibilities from one nurse to another (between shifts) of nurses so that they can provide safe and quality care. This study aims to determine the relationship between nurse caring on the implementation of SBAR communication during hand over cardiac patients in the cardiovascular inpatient ward at Royal Prima Hospital. The research design is descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted in October 2021. The sample in this study were all 32 nurses who served in the cardiovascular inpatient ward. The results of the chi-square test obtained a value of p <0.002, meaning that there is a relationship between nurse caring on the implementation of SBAR communication during hand over cardiac patients in the cardiovascular inpatient ward. It is hoped that respondents can add insight into nurse caring for the implementation of SBAR communication during hand over of cardiac patients in the cardiovascular inpatient ward.

Abstract

Health promotion can influence a person in having knowledge and motivation about health sciences, including a healthy and regular way of life. The role of nurses who have received information or knowledge through health education can also have positive values, attitudes and motivations in carrying out matters relating to the maintenance, assistance, and treatment of hypertension. The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the nurse's role in conducting health promotions for patients with hypertension. This type of research was an analytic survey with a cross sectional design. The population in this study were 42 people with hypertension in UPT Puskesmas Marike Kecamatan Kutambaru. The sampling technique in this study was determined by a total sampling technique of 42 people. The results of the chi square test based on the degree of significance (α) = 0.05 and df =1 obtained the calculation results, namely X²count 9.732 > X²table 3.841, it can be concluded that the value which means Ho is rejected Ha is accepted. The conclusion of the study is that there is a relationship between the nurse's roles with conducting health promotions for patients with hypertension. It is hoped that nurses will implement the health promotion program for hypertension sufferers better so that the symptoms and prevention of hypertension can be implemented properly.

Abstract

The importance of consuming fruit and vegetables is commonly neglected by the Indonesian people. Only 6.4% of adolescents at the age of 10-14 consume fruit and vegetables about 5 portions or more per day while the remaining 93.6% fewer than 5 portions. It is probably caused by their lack of knowledge and negative attitude toward it so that health promotion, using audiovisual, is needed. The research method used quasi experimental method with group pretest-posttest design. It was conducted at SMPIT AL Musabbihin and  Namira Medan. The population was 58 students consisted of 28 at SMPIT Al Musabbihin and 30at SMPIT Namira. The data were analyzed by using univariate and bivariate analysis with paired-sample t-test at significance level of 95% (α=0.05).The result of statistic test showed that there was significant difference in attitude between the students at SMPIT Al Musabbihin and SMPIT Namira about the importance of consuming fruit and vegetables. The conclusion of the research is that audio visual media is more effective to change students' attitudes become more positive about the importance of vegetable and fruit consumption in SMPIT Al Musabbihin and lecturer method is effective at SMPIT Namira Medan.

Abstract

Spinal cord injury is a serious and complex medical condition that affects many aspects of a patient's life. This study aims to explore the influence of family support on the rehabilitation process of patients with spinal cord injury. Through a survey involving various respondents who have experienced spinal cord injury, this study attempts to identify how family support, both in the form of emotional and physical support, can affect patients' motivation, quality of life, and their rehabilitation outcomes. The survey results showed that the majority of respondents felt positively supported by their families, which had a positive impact on patient motivation and their quality of life. Family involvement in medical care and creating an appropriate environment also proved important in the rehabilitation process. However, the study also revealed that conflicts within the family can be an obstacle in providing effective support. The results of this study highlight the importance of the family's role in the recovery of patients with spinal cord injury and its practical implications in healthcare. With a better understanding of the positive influence of family support, health and care providers can design more effective interventions to improve the rehabilitation process of patients. This study also provides a basis for further research in understanding more in-depth aspects of family support in the context of spinal cord injury. With collaborative efforts between the patient, family, and healthcare team, patients with spinal cord injury have a better chance of achieving optimal recovery and improving their quality of life.

Abstract

Night shift workers face unique challenges related to unconventional sleep patterns, which can have a significant impact on their mental well-being. In this context, this study aims to explore the impact of sleep quality on the mental well-being of night shift workers through a qualitative approach. Through an in-depth analysis of the individual experiences of 10 night shift workers with varying backgrounds, ages, genders, and work experiences, this study analyzed the challenges faced, coping strategies used, and broader implications regarding sleep quality and mental well-being. The results showed that night shift workers faced diverse challenges in maintaining sleep quality, including disrupted sleep patterns, jet lag, and work schedule uncertainty. However, these individuals adopted various coping strategies, such as maintaining a regular sleep routine, avoiding caffeine consumption in the evening, and applying relaxation techniques before bed. A supportive sleep environment, such as appropriate lighting and sleep comfort, also plays an important role in maintaining sleep quality. Implications of these findings include the need for management and organizational support in creating a work environment that supports quality sleep. This support may include stress management programs, psychological support, and schedule flexibility. In addition, this study contributes to our understanding of the interactions between sleep quality, circadian rhythms and mental well-being. The practical and academic implications of these findings may assist in the development of more effective interventions or support programs for night shift workers.
