Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui apakah kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran ekspositori, (2) mengetahui apakah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran ekspositori, (3) mengetahui apakah kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran ekspositori. Jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian kuantitatif, dengan pendekatan penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Binjai Kab. Langkat yang terdiri dari 7 kelas, dan sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu kelas X-IPA 1 (kelas eksperimen) sebanyak 30 siswa dan kelas X-IPA 2 (kelas kontrol) sebanyak 30 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan analisis varians dan dilanjutkan dengan uji tuckey pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Hasil temuan ini menunjukkan: (1) kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran ekspositori, (2) kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah tidak lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran ekspositori, (3) kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih baik secara signifikan dengan siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran ekspositori. Kata Kunci:Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah, Pembelajaran Berbasis masalah, dan Pembelajaran Ekspositori Abstract:This study aims to: (1) determine whether the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who get problem-based learning models is better than students who get expository learning models, (2) find out whether the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students who get problem-based learning models are better than students who get expository learning models, (3) know whether the ability to understand concepts and mathematical problem solving students who get a problem-based learning model is better than students who get expository learning models. This type of research is quantitative research, with a quasi-experimental research approach. The population of this study were all class X SMA Negeri 1 Binjai, Langkat Regency which consisted of 7 classes, and the sample in this study was X-Science 1 (experimental class) of 30 students and 30 X-Science 2 (control class) of 30 students. . The sampling technique is done by using cluster random sampling techniques. Hypothesis testing is done by analysis of variance and followed by tuckey test at a significant level of 0.05. These findings indicate: (1) the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who get a problem based learning model is better than students who get expository learning models, (2) the ability to solve mathematical problem students who get a problem based learning model is no better than students who get expository learning models, (3) the ability to understand concepts and mathematical problem solving students who get a problem-based learning model is significantly better than students who get expository learning models Keywords:Concept Understanding Ability, Problem Solving Ability, Problem Based Learning, and Expository Learning

Abstract

This research focuses on the effort to describe the difficulties experienced by students in the learning process on the subject of building a flat side room in mathematics learning. This research was conducted in connection with the difficulty of students in learning mathematics on the matter of building a flat side room. Therefore, it takes an effort to to find out the causes of difficulties experienced by students in the process of learning mathematics. One way that can be done is to identify the causes of student learning difficulties experienced by mathematics students during the process of learning mathematics took place in the classroom. This research will be conducted on the students of class VIII SMP Negeri 12 Bandung

Abstract

In general, mathematics learning is monotonous, as a result the teaching process is teacher-centered, so students are less active in learning mathematics. So, a mathematical approach is needed, namely the Open-Ended approach. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were 30 students of grade VIII – A MTs Darul Irsyadiyah. Through the results of the Open-ended question test, the SPLDV material given to students of grade VIII-A MTs Darul Irsyadiyah amounted to 30 students obtained by students with critical thinking level group 4 (TBK 4) with a percentage of 10%, students of critical thinking level 3 (TBK 3) percentage of 13%, students of critical thinking level group 1 (TBK 1) with a percentage of 14%. Based on the results of interviews with open-ended syntax conducted on each group of TBK, it was concluded that students of grade VIII-A MTs Darul Irsyadiyah were only able to think critically on two or three indicators, this showed that students were not fully developed to develop critical thinking skills in solving open-ended problems of the Two Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV) material.

Abstract

This study investigates the three-dimensional geometric concepts and the underlying philosophical meanings embodied in the architecture of the Great Mosque of Al-Abror, Padangsidimpuan, employing a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. The research is motivated by a notable gap in ethnomathematics scholarship, which has predominantly focused on identifying geometric forms without thoroughly integrating the associated philosophical and Islamic cultural values. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with mosque administrators, and visual documentation, complemented by an extensive literature review. Data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, encompassing data reduction, data display, and reflective conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the mosque’s architecture incorporates a variety of three-dimensional geometric forms, including cubes, rectangular prisms, pyramids, cylinders, and spheres, which serve not only structural functions but also convey rich symbolic meanings, such as unity, steadfast faith, balance, and order in alignment with Islamic teachings. This integration of geometric analysis and philosophical interpretation offers a more contextualized understanding of mathematics and simultaneously fosters the internalization of cultural and religious values among learners. The novelty of this research lies in its comprehensive integration of geometric exploration with philosophical interpretation in the study of mosque architecture. Future research is encouraged to broaden the scope to other historical structures, develop technology-enhanced learning media, and evaluate their effectiveness in improving students’ academic performance and cultural appreciation.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan tanaman serai (Cymbopogon citratus) sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan spray anti nyamuk merupakan bentuk pemberdayaan masyarakat yang bertujuan mengatasi masalah kesehatan akibat nyamuk dengan cara ramah lingkungan dan bernilai ekonomi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Nagori Silau Dunia yang memiliki potensi sumber daya alam lokal melimpah. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam memproduksi spray alami, mengembangkan peluang usaha berbasis potensi lokal, serta mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap produk kimia sintetis. Metode yang digunakan bersifat partisipatif melalui tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan kewirausahaan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan masyarakat, terutama ibu rumah tangga, mampu membuat dan memasarkan spray berbahan serai yang efektif mengusir nyamuk, aman digunakan, serta diminati konsumen lokal. Kegiatan ini juga meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya pengelolaan sumber daya alam berkelanjutan dan membuka peluang ekonomi baru di tingkat rumah tangga. Kata Kunci: Serai, Spray anti nyamuk, Pemberdayaan masyarakat, Ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan warga Desa Silau Dunia melalui penanaman apotek hidup sebagai upaya peningkatan kesehatan, pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan, serta penguatan kemandirian herbal masyarakat. Program dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu survei, sosialisasi, dan demonstrasi penanaman tanaman obat. Pada tahap sosialisasi, masyarakat diberikan pemahaman mengenai manfaat, jenis, dan teknik budidaya tanaman herbal, sedangkan tahap demonstrasi dilakukan melalui praktik langsung penanaman bibit jahe, kunyit, kencur, lidah buaya, sereh, dan temulawak. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan tingginya antusiasme masyarakat, khususnya ibu-ibu PKK, dalam mengikuti seluruh rangkaian program. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan literasi masyarakat mengenai tanaman obat, memberikan keterampilan budidaya herbal, serta mendorong pemanfaatan pekarangan rumah sebagai ruang hijau produktif. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap kesehatan, lingkungan, dan potensi ekonomi rumah tangga di Desa Silau Dunia.
