Abstract

This writing is discussing Alquran perspective about the attitude which should be owned by every Moslem in facing religion pluralism as something is possible and factual. By doing deep analysis on QS AlBaqarah /2: 136-137 and QS Ali Imran /3: 64, it is clear that pluralism is factual and be sunnatulah which should be exclaimed its truth. The three verses are also claim five ideal forms which should be had and implemented by all Moslem in regulating their interaction with other religion followers. As the biggest inspiration of a Moslem, then the finding meaning on Alquran verses will minimalize even erupt all exclusive paradigm on religion which for long time constraint the harmony of religion relationship. Exclusive religion bears, because there is misunderstanding and less of understanding about Alquran verses.

Abstract

This article aims to elaborates M. Quraish Shihab's thoughts on the concept of tajdīd in addressing the challenges of globalization. In conducting legal reasoning, M. Quraish Shihab distinguishes between principles and particulars (al-qat’ī min al-zannī), understanding the legal sources contextually and allegorically. M. Quraish Shihab's legal response in fatwas based on the moderation paradigm, ease and far from being fanaticism. It is very frequently happening that the choice and answer to the law and the fatwa of M. Quraish Shihab opposite the mainstream, such as the ability to choose a leader who is not a religious leader congratulates Christians on the Christmas day and does not require a headscarf. For these different opinions, liberal accusations are often pinned to M. Quraish Shihab.

Abstract

Prophet Muhammad left two very valuable legacies, namely the Qur'an and Hadith. These two legacies have always been the main source of reference for anyone in solving the myriad of life's problems. The complexity of human life in the end also demands the reading and review of applicable sources that have been appreciated by the Prophet Muhammad on his period to be contextualized and exist all the time. Likewise, the emergence of modern challenges that tend to reduce the authority of prophethood is a challenge for Muslims to reconstruct the religious foundations that have long been the formal law in interacting. This research is library research which is analyzed with a normative approach and a contextual approach. The results of this study indicate that as part of Islamic teachings, jihad in the early Islamic narrative may be different from the current version of jihad, either due to contextualization of meaning or due to a reduction in the true essence of jihad.
