Abstract

The text of Tutur Bhuwana Mareka is a lontar text that has a Shivaistic nuance and is thick with Tattwa teachings. The text of Tutur Bhuwana Mareka has a core teaching that discusses a lot about the creation, maintenance, and destruction of the universe or what is known as Virat Vidyā. This study will discuss three basic consensus as the formulation of the problem which includes the meaning of harmony in the process of creation (uttpti), maintenance (stiti), and destruction (pralina). This study uses the theory of Hermeneutics from Friedrich August Wolf to discuss the overall problem formulation in this study. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with several stages, namely: determining the type of research, finding sources of research data both primary and secondary data, determining research instruments, determining informants using purposive sampling techniques, collecting data using library, document, and descriptive methods, interview, thenanalyze the data, and present the results of the data analysis. The meaning of harmony in the process of creation (uttpti) of the universe in the text of Tutur Bhuwana Mareka is the existence of Sang Hyang Mareka Jati to respond to an empty and silent situation without any creation. All objects and living things that He created are correlated with each other and this is what shows the existence of harmony in the universe. Because in essence the universe without its contents is incomplete and living things cannot live and settle without the existence of the universe. Furthermore, the meaning of harmony in the process of maintaining (stiti) the universe in the text of Tutur Bhuwana Mareka is the existence of Sang Hyang Mareka Jati in protecting the universe and all its contents. Then the last is the meaning of harmony in the process of destruction (pralina) of the universe in the text of Tutur Bhuwana Mareka which isthe return of the elements of creation to the creator, namely Sang Hyang Mareka Jati. The destruction process in this text shows the existence of a cyclic cycle, proving that there is harmony, balance, and harmony in the universe. Creation, maintenance, and destruction are forms of harmony created by God in his manifestation as Sang Hyang Mareka Jati to give understanding to humans that the entire contents of the universe are His manifestations and will surely return to Him.

Abstract

The social life of the Hindu community in Bali cannot be separated from the ins and outs of work which then reflects the profession of the people who claim it. Professions in the social life of society will give birth to something called the professional group. This professional group will then have a social impact in the form of life strata in society. There is a separation between one profession and another, which then gives birth to a concept of ideas called the Catur Varṇa. In recent years there has been a widespread dualism of perspectives on the meaning of this Catur Varṇa concept. Some of them stated that this concept was a tradition passed down from generation to generation and there were also those who stated that this concept was an idea to organize the social life of Balinese people. The Catur Varṇa concept itself can be understood through literature which gives birth to a reality and facts. The concept of Catur Varṇa has been degraded due to the cognitive bias of the Balinese Hindu community in Bali in embodying the meaning of this concept. So that this concept does not give birth to social life that is more organized but instead creates a social problem that causes inequality in the body of community life. This inequality must be corrected immediately so that it does not become a tradition that has increasingly worsened the atmosphere of social life in Bali. Because today the concept of Catur Varṇa is consciously shifting meaning into a new concept that we have previously called the term Catur Wangsa.

Abstract

God is an object of abstraction that is difficult to understand. However, God can be understood through several methods in the science of religion. Efforts to learn and understand God are widely discussed in Hindu religious studies. One of the most widely used studies is the Brahma Tattwa study. Brahma Tattwa is a study to learn and understand God through efforts to analyze sacred literature. Holistically, the researcher used a qualitative approach in carrying out this research. The primary source is Pūrwa Bhūmi Kamulan's papyrus which has been converted into Old Javanese text and its Indonesian translation. Based on the results of the researcher's analysis, Prwa Bhūmi Kamulan's lontar emphasizes the theological aspect of God in his personification as Bhatāra Guru and Bhatārī Umā who created the world. As the name implies, namely Pūrwa Bhūmi Kamulan, this lontar does discuss more about the beginning or the beginning of the world/earth.  Keywords: Brahma Tattwa, Pūrwa Bhūmi Kamulan.

Abstract

Initially, the image of the Indonesian nation was that of a humanist, friendly and polite nation. However, as technology advances, Indonesian people begin to put aside the noble values of morality and ethics in everyday life. Conceptually, technology is not the cause of the moral and ethical conditions of the Indonesian people today, but technology has also become a mediator that causes the Indonesian people to override the noble values of morality that are the identity of the Indonesian nation. The purpose of this study is to determine the condition of morality and ethics of the Indonesian people in social life, especially from the aspect of using social media. This research is a qualitative research that uses a phenomenological study approach in studying and analyzing phenomena or events that occur in the field. The data collection method used in this research is through observation of research objects, literature studies, online data searches and using a phenomenological approach as the foundation. The data analysis technique used in this study is the data analysis technique proposed by Miles and Huberman while the data validity test technique in this study was carried out using the credibility test. This study finds that there is a disequilibrium between the image that has been attached to the identity of the Indonesian nation and the reality that occurs in the lives of Indonesian people today. This disequilibrium leads to the degradation of the image of the Indonesian people in the reality of social media, especially Instagram.

Abstract

Catur Yoga are four ways that humans can take to unite themselves with Brahman. The four paths include Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, and Jnana Yoga. Of the four paths, this study will discuss Raja Yoga, which is the most difficult way or way for humans to do if it is done without the assistance of a spiritual teacher. Raja Yoga teachings emphasize the process of the self to be able to control all activities of the movement of the mind for the realization of a clear and good mind and always focus on Brahman. The state of the self that is able to control the movement of one's mind in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is called Citta Vrtti Nirodha. Citta Vrtti Nirodha will lead human life to Moksartham Jagadhita Ya Ca Iti Dharma. The teachings of Raja Yoga will be studied in depth and comprehensively using the literature study of the sacred literature of Bhagavad Gītā as the main source.Catur Yoga are four ways that humans can take to unite themselves with Brahman. Abstract

Kakawin Rāmāyaṇa is part of the Itihāsa which contains elements of heroism and leadership. Leadership is a very fundamental thing to discuss because it is closely related to everyday life. Today it is difficult to find an ideal type of leader like the Daśaratha in the Kakawin Rāmāyaṇa. For this reason, the purpose of writing this article is to examine the leadership tips of the Daśaratha so that they can be reflected by prospective leaders or even those who are leading. One of the most obvious descriptions of the ideal leader that can be used as a reflection by today's leaders is in Kakawin Rāmāyaṇa sargah I pada 3. To be able to study properly and correctly and obtain reliable findings, the author uses the Hermeneutics theory proposed by Hans-George Gadamer as a tool for study. Regarding the method, the writer uses an interpretive descriptive approach, considering that the writing of this article is part of a qualitative research that is oriented towards library research. The writing of this article is directed at three discussions related to Kakawin Rāmāyaṇa sargah I's reflection on 3 in forming intellectual, divine, and humanist leaders. To form an intellectual type of leadership, a leader must be oriented to the Kakawin Rāmāyaṇa sargah I pada 3 which reads "wruh sira riṅ Wéda". Then to form a divine type of leadership, a leader must be oriented to the Kakawin Rāmāyaṇa sargah I pada 3 which reads "bhakti riṅ déwa". And finally, to form a humanist type of leadership, a leader must be oriented to the Kakawin Rāmāyaṇa sargah I pada 3 which reads "tar malupéṅ pitrēpūja, māsih ta siréṅ swagotra kabéh".

Abstract

The lack of research and in-depth discussion of the concept of Hindu Cosmology became the basis for researchers to conduct this research. This study uses the text of Tutur Bhuwana as the object of research. The purpose of this study is to be able to analyze the concept of Hindu Cosmology (Virat Vidyā) in the Tutur Bhuwana Mareka text, especially in the aspects of creation (uttpti), maintenance (stiti), and annihilation (pralina) of the universe. This research is a type of research that uses qualitative methods by conducting research or literature studies and searching online data as a data collection technique. The use of this method is to obtain in-depth information related to the concept of Hindu Cosmology (Virat Vidyā) in the Tutur Bhuwana Mareka text. Mainly related to the process of creation, maintenance, and dissolution of the universe. The process of creation (uttpti) of the universe in the text of Tutur Bhuwana Mareka begins in a very quiet and empty state of the universe (hning sunya nirbhana). Then came Sang Hyang Nora as the initial entity for the emergence of Sang Hyang Mareka Jati as the beginning of the process of creating the universe. Then there is the maintenance process (stiti) of the universe which is based on the basic concept of the Tri Sakti which includes the mind (idep), breath (bayu) and sound (sabda). And the last is the process of fusion (pralina) of the universe which adheres to the concept of Shiva Linga. This concept describes the process of creating the universe by Sang Hyang Mareka Jati, who will eventually return to Him as the highest entity.
