Abstract

The background of this research is the decreased number of tourists, either domestic or foreign tourists, visiting Lombok, in which Lombok is a halal tourism destination in Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the influence of electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) and travel motivation toward the interest in visiting Lombok with gender as the mediator, using a purpose-sampling technique on its sample collection. The respondents of this research are university students in Surakarta. The number of questionnaires spread by the researcher is 316 samples and the samples that can be used are 264. This research uses the analysis tool of SPSS 22 with a scale of 1-5. The result shows that e-WOM and travel motivation influence the interest in visiting Lombok, while the influence with gender as the mediator shows that males have a bigger influence toward the use of e-WOM and travel motivation toward the interest of visiting Lombok

Abstract

Purposes. Sustainability Balanced Scorecard (SBSC) is the development of balanced scorecard as a comprehensive company performance appraisal method, which the assessment focus on financial perspective, customer, internal business processes, growth and learning as well as the social and environmental perspective as an effort of sustainability. This sustainability effort is in line with the legitimacy theory, which states that the company should be run in accordance with the prevailing norms of the place where the company is located. Madukismo Sugar Company (PG. Madukismo) is a company that has potential environmental destruction is the subject of this research. This research is intended to provide an overview of PG Madukismo's performance evaluation using the SBSC method, whether it is able to explain the legitimacy theory.Method. The case study with a descriptive qualitative method by triangulation system becomes a method of this research development.Findings. Outlined, the performance of PG Madukismo shows good results, the financial perspective shows some improvement, profit has increased, as well as efficiency. The customer's perspective also shows satisfactory performance, the high level of customer retention and the minimum level of complaints is enough to explain. The internal business process perspective results are also satisfactory, innovation on production, sales and after-sales processes are considered good. A less encouraging perspective is the perspective of growth and learning, even though employee retention is good but the amount of employee training actually shows a downward trend. Last but not least, is a social and environmental perspective. The results obtained were quite surprising, although in 2016 the news about Madukismo waste management was less pleasant, in 2018 Madukismo was able to improve its waste management and get a positive response from surrounding communities who said that the stench from Madukismo waste continued to decrease.Implication. This research gives insight and detail of how to assess a company using five perspectives of SBSC to prove that legitimacy theory can be applied and bringing the hope of sustainable business.Keyword: Sustainability Balanced Scorecard, green accounting, social and environmental, PG.Madukismo

Abstract

This study aims to make a critical review of Torchia & Calabro research in 2016 titled “Board of Directors and Financial Transparency and Disclosure: Evidence from Italy”. The critical review is carried out with the aim of mapping out future research opportunities that can be based on Torchia & Calabro's research. Future research that can be mapped out is research on corporate governance which is calculated by a total index which includes the characteristics of the board of directors and commissioners, characteristics of audits, remuneration, internal control and risk management. The relationship with voluntary disclosure which is also calculated by the total index which includes disclosure of the company's strategic management, disclosure of financial information and stock information, disclosure of information on company management structure, disclosure of information on the company's future mission and CSR disclosure. The research will be more comprehensive if it is added with the disclosure of the company's environmental management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and identify the effects of inflation and rupiah exchange rates on profitability in Islamic banks in Indonesia with mudharabah deposit as the mediator. Using secondary data that are published by the central bank of Indonesia and financial services authority, the method used in this research is Ordinary Least Square. The result indicates the inflation variable, exchange rate, and mudharabah deposits simultaneously give a significant influence toward profitability (ROA) of the Sharia Commercial Bank in Indonesia. While partially, inflation and exchange rate have no significant effect on profitability (ROA). While mudharabah deposits have a significant positive effect on profitability (ROA). Inflation has a significant negative effect on mudharabah deposits and the exchange rate has a significant positive effect on mudharabah deposits. The path analysis result shows that the mudharabah deposit variable is unable to mediate the effect of inflation and te exchange rate to profitability (ROA)
