Abstract

The purpose  of  this study was to determine the types of trees at the potential and deployment  Macaranga Spp haul roads around  wood PT. Ratah Timber particularly at Km  23.26 and 30 villages  Mamahak  Teboq  District of  Long Hubung Mahakam  Ulu Regency. Data collection  and research done by the preparation method of  sampling  is  done  using  a 20x20 meter plots  were arranged in lines of research.  Number of PU in daloam each path varies according to the field conditions, distance of between 9-10 plots. Also in  the   interview  did also  used to obtain  data and information from officers in the field, officials of relevant agencies and  the  local population  that  has  to do with the  activities  of research and from the literature that support.Research results can be sorted by diameter class is 10-15, 16-20, 21-30, and> 30 cm  and are obtained  1) Volume  Macaranga Spp tree on plot  1, 2 and 3 with a diameter  of  10-15 cm  class is 10 , 58 m³ with 236 trees, the diameter  class 16-20 cm  was 6.35 m³ there  are 62 trees,  while the volume with a diameter of 21-30 cm class is 15.64 m³ there  are 75 trees  while the number  of  overall diameter  is  32.97  m³.  Distribution  Macaranga Spp  tree   most commonly found on the second plot  with 173 trees  including the number of trees under 10 cm  in diameter (not measured).Suggestions submitted on the results of  this study are 1) To    the   PT.  Ratah   Timber   trying   keep  the   existence  and preservation  of   trees   Macaranga  Spp.  existing   in  PT.  Ratah Timber from forest fires disorders; 2) Keep an inventory of  trees Macaranga  Spp.  on  the   whole  area   of   PT.  Ratah  Timber  to determine the distribution and potential Macaranga Spp.

Abstract

Estimation of Carbon Stock in Secondary Forest Land Cover, shrubs and thickets in Samarinda. Climate change mitigation efforts have been conducted, among others in the field of land is to be able to maintain the rate of conversion of vegetated land into another use, the role of CO2 absorbent vegetation becomes an important part at this time in order to overcome the global warming. Carbon absorbed by the plants is stored in the form of wooden biomass, so the easiest way to increase carbon stocks is by planting and maintaining trees also maintaining the land in order to keep it vegetated, therefore it is necessary to have carried out research aimed suspect carbon reserves on the type of cover land either shrubs, thickets and secondary forests, in Samarinda city. The study was conducted by the plot and the data retrieval with destructive and non-destructive and the analysis calculations using allometric. By the results of the study, it was found that the estimation amount of reserves of biomass on land cover in the form of Secondary Forest is the largest that is 203.826 tons/hectare, then the biomass in vegetation undergrowth of 74.180 tons/hectare and the third on vegetation shrub that is equal to 56.306 tons/hectare, On the third closure of the land and from the various components of the biomass vegetation, trees with a diameter 2cm up  have the largest biomass content as carbon sinks through the process of photosynthesis is 27.026 tons/hectare, 55.308 tons/ hectare and 137.473 tons/hectare, while rooting ranks second. Same as the content of the biomass, carbon stock estimation is the largest in land cover in the form of secondary forests, thickets and shrubs, are respectively 95.798 tons/hectare, 42.667 tons/hectare and 26.464 tons/hectare. Carbon content estimation on top (Above Ground Carbon) each respectively based on the order of the land cover is 69.93 tonnes/ hectare, 31.14 tons/hectare and 19.32 tons/hectare.

The purpose of the study was to determine the feasibility of farming with an agroforestry pattern. The method in this study uses the exploration method through direct observation in the field using interviews as a data collection tool. The data and information collected are all costs and income needed in this farming so that it can be known whether this business is feasible or not. The results of this study indicate that the results of the financial analysis show the Net Present Value 0, namely Rp. 514,470,711 at an interest rate of 10%, Net Benefit Cos Ratio 1 which is 20.37 at an interest rate of 10%, and Internal Rate Of Return 12.91% in year 6.  Keywords: Agroforestry, Economic benefits, Conservation.
