Abstract

English language institutes make various empowerment efforts to encourage community participation so they have the ability to achieve a prosperous standard of living. Empowerment efforts undertaken by English language course institutions in Pelem Village have made the community aware of the potential, have the ability to access welfare and change existing barriers. The description is the main attraction to examine how efforts to empower the community through social service institutions English courses in the Village of Pelem, Pare District, Kediri Regency. The purpose of this research is to find out, describe and analyze efforts to empower the community through social service institutions of English courses in Pelem Village, Pare District, Kediri Regency. This research uses a case study approach with qualitative research type. The technique of determining the informant using the subjectivity of researchers and the technique of determining the location using purposive.Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data display and verification. The results showed that the role of the course institutions could improve the welfare of the people of Pelem Village.Keywords: Empowerment Efforts, Institutions and community

Abstract

This article explores public awareness in shaping ecotourism in Mandak Village. Participation through the development of Watu Rumpuk Tourism in Mendak Village, Perdagangan District, Madiun Regency is one of the uses of social participation in an effort to encourage the economic growth of the Mendak Village community. This research approach is qualitative and type of research uses descriptive studies. Determination of informants in research using purposive techniques. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The data validity technique uses source triangulation. The results showed that participation formed by the Mendak Village community was a form of horizontal participation. Where horizontal participation is participation born from community self-awareness in dealing with existing problems. The background of the formation of this participation comes from the condition of clove harvest failure which is a common problem. Then the problem solving is obtained by exploiting natural potential, namely tourism development. Development activities are carried out in mutual cooperation until there is economic growth, all these activities are a form of development carried out by community participation. The participation in Watu Rusun tourism development can occur because of the willingness of the community to be involved in tourism development, the opportunities provided by the community, and the ability of the community to utilize tourism. The benefits of participation in tourism development for the community are the availability of new jobs, the emergence of businesses in processing local potential, and the existence of CSR from investors for tourism development.Keywords: Failure of Clove Agriculture, Social Participation, Watu Rusun Tourism Development, community economic growth.

Abstract

Profit-sharing system is a bond or a cooperation agreement between land owners and their workers as tenants. The wage of cultivation of the land is taken or given from crops which are cultivated. The amount of the profit-sharing is the amount of wages earned by each farmer both landowners and tenants based on an agreement that is 5: 1 on the crop, so that sharecroppers can increase their income and fulfill their family’s needs. Profit-sharing system is done once a year during the paddy season. This is caused by insufficient irrigation water requirements for paddy crops. This research aims to explain and to describe the increase of sharecroppers’ income throughprofit-sharing system in Dawuhan Village Grujugan Subdistrict. This research used a qualitative method. The used informant determination method was purposive while the data collection techniques were through observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained from the field were analyzed by using data analysis methods. The validity of the data, researcher used a type of triangulation. The results showed that the increase of income of farming community in Dawuhan village could be seen from the changes in socioeconomic conditions. Moreover, it then gave a positive impact to the society of Dawuhan village because the production resultof harvest time could be their savings during waiting of paddy season arrives. There was an interlude in paddy season; it was tobacco and chili seasons. Todays, profit-sharingsystem was still implemented as a tradition or habit that was based on mutual trust and helping each other among the farming community. Abstract

Dusun Padasan cenderung memiliki jumlah penduduk yang tinggi. Namun, hal tersebut tidak menjamin pengembangan Dusun. Itu terlihat dari persepsi masyarakat yang pesimis dan perekonomian masyarakat Dusun Padasan rendah. Hal tersebut karena penduduk usia produktif Dusun memilih untuk merantau dan bekerja di luar. Sehingga kurang adanya peran pemuda untuk mengembangkan potensi dusun. Alasan lain juga karena faktor pendidikan masyarakat di dusun Padasan sangat rendah. Padahal Dusun Padasan memiliki sumber daya alam atau potensi yang dapat dikembangkan. Terutama potensi dari tumbuhan bambu dan pekerjaan mayoritas masyarakat sebagai pengrajin bambu. Hal itu yang dipahami sebagai potensi lokal Dusun Padasan yang dapat dikembangkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan inovasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan bambu sehingga dapat meningkatkan nilai jual produk bambu. Hasil dalam penelitian ini masyarakat tersadar akan potensi yang dimilikinya serta pentingnya inovasi dalam pengelolaan bambu khususnya dalam pembuatan kerajinan bambu. Sehingga masyarakat khususnya pengrajin bambu membentuk kelompok agar lebih mudah terorganisir dan mengembangkan inovasi bambu yang sesuai dengan pasar di era modern ini.
