Abstract

Pancasila is basic for the life of the nation and society in Indonesia. The Church as an element in the Indonesian society has a specific contribution in this civic life. This contribution could not be separated from “new relationship” between the elements of society-state-market. This new relationship is coloured by the dynamic of societal life after 1998, the new cultural bond, problems of poverty, environment damage and ongoing development. The Church’s contribution could be enlightement in various levels of societal life, such as, guide for social conduct, network creation, development that respons the people’s need, development of the elements of society that is characterized by multiculturalism to achieve a just, prosper, and peaceful society.

Abstract

Abstract

The relationship between natural resources and development in the so-called developing world is important. The question posed in this paper is how do the different types of natural resources; oil, LNG, and forests affect the broader environment-development relations? This study shows that the presence of natural resources especially the oil and LNG industries played a major role in the Indonesian national development. In the context of Evans conceptual continuum, Indonesia has both the elements of predatory and developmental state viewed from the environment-development relations.

Abstract

Social forestry program expected to give space for people in forest management, improve livelihood, and conserve the environment at once to decrease poverty rate on people who live around the forest. This article aims to describe the benefit of community member which is complemented by deepening of view and alternative of social forestry program in Kelompok Tani Hutan Gunung Gajah Lestari (KTH GGL) and Lembaga Masyarakat Desa Hutan Rawa Sakti (LMDH RS). Qualitative approach in case study form is used which interview 49 informants include managements and members that accompanied by focus group discussion as data triangulation which processed by Nvivo application and Microsoft Excel. The result shows social forestry program has viewed giving benefit although it felt not optimal by the members in both groups. However, rough calculation on utilization of forest areas tends possibly to contribute around Rp.1,5-3 million rupiah/planting period. The utilization of forest areas is revival means or additional income where social-economic context is needed to be understood on identify commodity alternative that can be developed in the further time. The rest is the need for natural science approach which can answer the confusion of community to find alternatives commodity which more give revenue.

Abstract

Sexual violence occurs in higher education institutions. Sexual violence mitigation studies have a theoretical novelty using Giddens' structuring of the problem of sexual violence. The research aims to determine the relationship between policy stakeholders, lecturers, students, and education staff; know the obstacles and challenges; and know the model of sexual violence mitigation in higher education. The research used qualitative with case studies of three higher education in Indonesia. The informant consisted of 27 respondents: students, lecturers, and education staff. Data collection through interviews, documentation, observation, and focus group discussion (FGD). Data processing using the NVivo 12 Plus application; Publish or Perish; and VOSviewer. Data analysis using: data reduction; present data; and conclusion. This research shows that the relationship is very important between policymakers and lecturers, students, and education staff in efforts to prevent and handle sexual violence. Cooperation of all parties in facing challenges in handling and prevention of sexual violence on campuses that have obstacles, to realize a campus free from violence. This study concludes that realizing a campus that is free from sexual violence can be implemented on campuses in Indonesia. Recommendations for participatory and gender-responsive sexual violence mitigation policy models are applied in higher education in Indonesia.
