Abstract

Library promotion through social media is an integral part of library services, especially for academic libraries. Social media can inform the end-users of what library’s resources and services and give librarians an impression of users’ views and needs. This study aimed to determine the use of social media to promote academic libraries in Indonesia. This research used a qualitative approach, specifically a systematic literature review, and includes details about identifying the research questions, the literature search process, data synthesis and search results. Based on the scientific papers identified and reviewed, the majority of research was published in 2019. The most frequent social media platforms for library promotions were Facebook and Instagram. Academic libraries located in Yogyakarta carried out the most social media promotions. Obstacles to promoting libraries through social media in Indonesia were primarily due to internal factors of libraries.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: Leadership is important in enabling a person and a nation to improve and advance.  Background Problems: Leadership is not something that everyone seeks, especially in youth. The youth leadership crisis can be seen from the lack of students who want to become chairpersons in university extracurricular activities. Novelty: This research makes a three-fold contribution. First, this study presents an analysis of the ‘Evolving Leadership Practices Assessment’ quizzes (Olson and Singer, 2004) distributed by the Chairperson and Vice-chairperson of the Library Science Student Association (IMASIP) the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia. Second, this study assesses the IMASIP FIB-UI Daily Management Board. This study also interviewed five informants with 12 closed-ended questions. Research Methods: This paper assesses youth leadership by using a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods, with a case study approach.  Finding/Results: Our result shows and supports the assumption that age and years of leadership will affect the scores obtained at IMASIP, which further research must examine. This research also suggests that the Daily Management Board's performance can be maintained by connection, contribution, and collaboration. Conclusion: The results identify efforts to build and improve leadership among students, including developing and increasing seminars and training in leadership to prepare students who have a role as the successors of the nation’s leadership.

Abstract

Academic libraries are the university's heart. However, studies on the relationship between library use and student performance are sparse. This study contributes to research on the relationship between library use and student performance. This study aimed to examine the relationship between library use of the Universitas Indonesia Library online (accessing through https://lib.ui.ac.id) and on-site (visiting the library) and library science undergraduate students' performance (Grade Point Average) on library science at Universitas Indonesia during pre-pandemic compared to during the pandemic. This study used a quantitative approach through survey research methods. Research respondents is 54 student that participating before and during the pandemic through data analysis chi-square and correlation analysis. The results showed a weak correlation between online and on-site library use and student performance. There was a significant relationship between online and on-site library use and demographic characteristics (gender, age, and year of enrolment).High-level students used the library more pre-pandemic than lower-level students. During the pandemic, students used electronic collections facilities outside the library website. The use of the library supports the improvement of student performance. This study contributed to introducing a data collection approach for assessing and making decisions about the library users needs, resources, and services. The study concludes that academic libraries are continuously improving their performance in contributing to achieving institutional goals and student success before and during the pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to determine breathing techniques that can be used to reduce dyspnea in COPD patients. The method used is to search articles on several electronic databases, namely Proquest, ScienceDirect, PubMed, Embase, and EBSCOHost, using the keywords Breathing Technique, Dyspnea, and COPD. Inclusion criteria were COPD patients, articles with RCT or clinical trial research designs published in the last ten years, and interventions that included breathing techniques. The results showed that several breathing techniques could reduce dyspnea in COPD patients, including pursed lip breathing, active cycle breathing, breathing control, deep breathing, and yoga. In conclusion, these breathing techniques can be used in COPD patients. Breathing techniques can reduce dyspnea and improve quality of life, sputum discharge, lung capacity, and anxiety. Keywords: Breathing Technique, COPD, Dyspnea

Abstract

User experience is an essential component in website development where information architecture needs to be considered. Information architecture can help make it easier for users to find what they are looking for and need on a website. In providing the information needed by users, Universitas Indonesia (UI) Library needs to analyse the relationship between user experience and user perceptions of information architecture. This research uses the Post-study System Usability Questionnaire (PSSUQ), Usability Metric for User Experience (UMUX), Standardized User Experience Percentile Rank Questionnaire (SUPR-Q), and Library Search UX instruments and received responses from 127 UI students. The results showed that library search, system capability, website navigation, trust, loyalty, and user interface significantly affect user perceptions of the information architecture of the Universitas Indonesia Library website. Additionally, information quality, interface quality, and system quality do not significantly affect user perceptions of the information architecture of the Universitas Indonesia Library website. This research is useful for further development of the UI Library website.

Abstract

Although there is a lot of research on websites, there is very little research on art gallery websites in Indonesia. As a result, this study examines the quality of the National Gallery of Indonesia’s (commonly referred to as Galnas) website as a source providing information about the gallery by analyzing end-user perceptions through methods such as WebQual 4.0, importance–performance analysis, and customer satisfaction index (CSI). Fifty undergraduate and postgraduate college students in the Library and Information Science (LIS) program of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Indonesia were selected as respondents based on convenience sampling. The study found that compared to other sources of information, the Galnas website was chosen the least, but the overall services of the website met user expectations, as evidenced by a CSI score of 83.88% for undergraduate college students and a CSI score of 74.96% for postgraduate college students. This research contributes to the enhancement of the quality and accessibility of the Galnas website.

Abstract

A good user experience supports libraries in providing search and delivery services that meet user expectations and needs. This study evaluates the user experience of the Universitas Indonesia Library (UI) website by employing the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) and usability testing to ascertain how well it meets user expectations and needs. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, it gathers quantitative data from 287 respondents via UEQ and qualitative insights from usability testing involving 5 participants. The findings from the UEQ indicate generally positive user experiences across most dimensions, with the exception of Novelty, which falls below the average benchmark in terms of Attractiveness, Clarity, and Novelty. Despite the positive feedback in several areas, the overall user experience of the UI Library website is deemed inadequate, highlighting a significant need for enhancements in user experience design. The paper elaborates on design recommendations derived from both UEQ results and usability testing observations. These recommendations are intended to guide improvements in the website’s interface and functionality, ensuring it more effectively serves its academic audience. Further analysis of these recommendations is suggested to verify their appropriateness and potential impact on the user experience.
