Abstract

Ondel-ondel is a puppets become an icon pride city of Jakarta as a result of the community especially the Betawi culture as the original inhabitants of Jakarta. This paper attempts to reveal the icon Jakarta through the history, description, function and how to preserve the culture of local order not dragged down by the current modernization that progressively growing fast. This research uses qualitative methods and served proper techniques of descriptive obtained the Courtâ s website through the study of literature. Stage arts preservation ondel-ondel namely through stage screening, storage and actualization. The efforts to maintain and preserve the ondel-ondel as one of khazanah Indonesian culture is with: enter the subjects of genuine arts Jakarta especially Ondel-ondel into the educational curriculum, using ondel-ondel in each event of provincialism, change the puppet ondelondel regularly in the building of government and the culture of DKI Jakarta in order to preserve the craftsmen ondel-ondel, create sudios or betawi arts groups in each village, packs form of puppets ondel-ondel into the miniature or animation that preferred by the children as the successor of the cultural heritage.

Abstract

Introduction. This study discusses Leiden University Library reference services through the KITLV-Jakarta. Since KITLV was acquired by the Leiden University Library, the KITLV-Jakarta Library which was a KITLV-Dutch representative, is now a representative of the Leiden University Library in Jakarta. Data Collection Method. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive research involving observations and interviews as well as primary document data sources. Data Analysis. The data was analyzed by involving the process of data reduction, interpretation, and conclusion. Results and Discussions. The results of the study indicate that reference services, particularly for reference collections found in the Leiden University Library cannot be accessed directly through the KITLV-Jakarta Library. Only KITLV librarians can request the reference service from Leiden University librarians. Conclusion. Librarians at the KITLV-Jakarta Library do not have the same access as librarians at the Leiden University Library, even though the KITLV-Jakarta Library is a representative of the Leiden University Library in Jakarta.

Abstract

Introduction. The academic library in the Pancoran area have user-oriented reference services by creating services called Personal Assistant Library Service (PALS). This paper discusses the reference services at Pancoran University which aims to describe the implementation of PALS at Universitas Pancoran as an effort to improve the academic library. Method. The method uses case study with qualitative approach. Techniques of collecting data through interviews conducted on librarians who work in the library. Results and Discussions. The findings of the strategy undertaken in an effort to improve reference services at the Pancoran University library can be done in a personal way by forming PALS services. In the case of Pancoran University, these efforts are reflected in the collection support provided for new services, reassessing the competencies needed for services and seeing the challenges that exist in its implementation. Conclusion. The improvement of college library services through PALS is an alternative that can be used by other university libraries even though the application at Pancoran University has not been maximized. PALS focuses on the needs of college library users with high ability needs and different subjects with personal handling.

Abstract

Introduction. The awareness of musical heritage shows an effort of preservation that performed by composers, musicians, performers, archivists, conservators, local society, community archivists, and government. Data Collection Methods. The paper used a systematic review method with a qualitative approach represented by literature from Taylor & Francis database. Data Analysis. A multi-stage exclusion process showed nine articles for further review. An analytical grid/chart was used to systematize the most relevant information of the selected articles. A tree illustration (including roots, trunk, and leaves) was used to represent the main idea of each article. Results and Discussion. The raised awareness of the importance of preservation can be supported by creating the music projects, promoting music for tourism, and music repackaging. We categorize seveal aspects of preserving heritage music such as 1) understanding the integrity of the original trace and media, 2) combining prescriptive & descriptive documentation 3) musical repackaging method, and 4) using Art Glove device. Conclusion. A synthesis of proposals was developed to illustrate the musical heritage preservation that represents ideas of selected articles that have been reviewed. In addition, this study also allows the researchers to identify gaps in the literature and research directions.

Abstract

Introduction. Libraries as information institution serves users by collecting, managing and disseminating information and knowledge. One of the important is by preserving cultural heritage. This study aims to describe role of libraries in preserving cultural heritage through publication of scientific articles on the topic of cultural heritage. Data Collection Methods. The paper used a systematic literature review with a qualitative approach. Data Analysis. Several stage involved in data analysis included planning, implementinging, and synthesising the search results Results and Discussion. Findings indicate there are seven selected journal articles discussing policies as obstacles in the preservation of cultural heritage and there are five articles containing the role of libraries focusing on physical form and public education. Conclusion. Based on the selected scientific journal articles describing the role of libraries in Indonesia in preserving cultural heritage, the topics focuses on education for community, procurement, maintenance of physical buildings, ancient manuscripts collections and cultural themes. Furthermore,constraints and challenges faced by libraries,including policies, create an impact on human resources, budget and infrastructure.

Abstract

Introduction. Awareness about the spread of hoaxes through the media during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia should be the main concern for everybody. Data Collection Methods. This paper used a systematic literature review method with a qualitative approach, using the literature which focuses on the spread of hoaxes through the media during the COVID-19 pandemic from Google Scholar, Garuda RistekBRIN, and Research Gate. The exclusion process resulted in 20 scientific papers for further analysis. Data Analysis. Data analysis was conducted manual using graphs and tables to systematize the most relevant information to the research topic. Results and Discussion. Three research questions were answered, including the quantity of publications regarding the spread of hoaxes through media during the pandemic in Indonesia, the focus of the researches, and the methodology used in the study. Based on the findings, 20 scientific papers were obtained, with minor topics including the identification of hoax news about COVID-19 on social media, information behavior on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic, and strategies dealing with the spread of hoaxes during the pandemic. Conclusion. There are many papers discussing the spread of hoaxes through the media during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia and this needs sufficient attention.

Abstract

This study discusses about transformation of Indonesia Open University Library to provide library services for lectures and students, especially students and up to which extent master degree students’ information needs have been fulfilled by Indonesia Open University (UT) digital library. This research uses quantitative approach with descriptive survey method. The result of this research indicates that transformation of UT library has not fully been appropriated by master degree students and information needs have not been fulfilled. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance quantity, quality and ease of access to information source, socialization of information source available at UT digital library and active role of librarians in providing information service.

Abstract

Knowledge sharing in University level happens at the core activites of University. Almost all academics in University are doing knowledge sharing. Knowledge sharing could be found at learning, teaching and community services process. College students and lecturers are the one who mostly doing knowledge sharing. In University, knowledge sharing become an important process because there are difference between learning and studying in High School and in Univeristy. This research used SECI Model to analyze knowedge sharing. SECI Model is used to analyzed the creation and transfer of knowledge developed by Takeuchi and Nonaka (1995). SECI is an acronym for Socialization, Externalization, Combination and Internalization. By doing knowledge sharing college students could get the exsisted knowledge and even new knowledge. The result of this research shows undergraduate students of library science at university of Indonesia batch 2019 are doing knowledge sharing and they are using LINE application as a media.
