Abstract

Pembibitan bud chip cane merupakan salah satu penerapan program bongkar ratoon yang sering mengalami kesulitan dalam memenuhi persyaratan benih bersertifikat. Upaya peningkatan produksi dan pemulihan kesuburan tanah dapat dilakukan aplikasi pupuk organik kompos asam humat, kiambang, dan pupuk kandang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan bud chips terbaik. Mendapatkan dosis komposisi pupuk organik yang paling efektif. dan mendapatkan interaksi bagian kuncup biji dan komposisi pupuk organik. Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok. Faktor pertama adalah 3 bagian bibit (B1) bud seed bud chip (B2) bud seed bud chips tengah, (B3) bud seed bud chip, dan faktor kedua jumlah komposisi pupuk organik (P) perbandingan Asam Humat: Kiambang : : (P0) 10%: 70%: 20% (P3) 20%: 10%: 70%, (P4) 30%: P0) tanpa pupuk organik (P1) 30%: 40%, (P5) 100% pupuk organik asam humat, (P6) 100% kompos kiambang, dan (P7) 100% pupuk kandang. hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan analisis varians dengan uji F, pada Uji Lanjut dengan Uji BNT pada taraf kepercayaan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bud buds chip B1 tumbuh lebih cepat dibandingkan B2 dan B3. Pemberian pupuk organik komposisi P2 nyata lebih baik terhadap tinggi tanaman, sedangkan komposisi pupuk organik P7 menunjukkan peningkatan jumlah daun dan diameter batang lebih baik dibandingkan komposisi organik lainnya.

Abstract

Pepper is one of the spice crops that contribute to improving the Indonesian economy. Pepper cultivation is carried out on a small scale to a large scale. Pepper propagation by cutting is considered quite effective and efficient. Politeknik Negeri Lampung has been develop the Pepper Nursery Unit since 2007. This unit runs a business in the production of climbing pepper seedling, shrub pepper seedling, and pepper nursery training. The aim of this program is to support the mission of Politeknik Negeri Lampung in preparing itself to face college campus autonomy through the acquisition of revenue from established business units, accelerating the process of developing an entrepreneurial cultural system in the campus environment, providing competency development opportunities for staff and students, and increasing the role of the Politeknik Negeri Lampung for the community, especially in agriculture. The impact of this program is the availability of hight quality pepper seedling, increasing income generating Politeknik Negeri Lampung, establishment of the Pepper Nursery Unit and training service, improving the skills of Politeknik Negeri Lampung students in pepper nursery, developing entrepreneurial potential for students and staff, as well as increasing the role of Lampung State Polytechnic in community service activities.Keywords—Campus entrepreuneurship, estate crop, nursery business.

Abstract

Average production of pepper obtained from the of farmers in Air Naningan regency is between 350-450 kg/ha/year, which still very low, so that they must be helped to overcome the problems. The purpose of this activity was to conduct the pepper seedlings have mycorrhiza technologies. The methods that used include a survey to identify the feasibility and desire targeted farmers, extension with a lecture and sharing, training, and demonstration plots. The output from extension program was increasing knowledge, understanding, and skills farmer members in applying the pepper seedlings have mycorrhiza technologies so that cultivation can become a sustainable pepper production and became a mainstay of alternative sources of income of targeted farmers. In addition, these activities can increase Politeknik Negeri Lampung role in efforts to disseminate applied technology in an effort to improve social welfare in Lampung. Keywords : MFA, pepper seedling, single internode seedling

Abstract

Klon kopi robusta (Coffea canephora Pierre ex Frochner) yang tidak dapat dipercaya yang berbeda-beda. Upaya mempercepat pertumbuhan setek dapat dilakukan dengan mempersembahkan auksin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi auksin terbaik pada pertumbuhan setek kopi robusta klon -BP 308. Penelitian berlangsung selama 4 bulan mulai dari 18 November 2019 hingga 18 Maret 2020 di Kebun Percobaan dan Laboratorium Analisis Politeknik Negeri Lampung. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan lima ulangan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan adalah instrumen pengendapan yang terdiri atas 0 ppm (Z 0 ), 100 ppm (Z 1 ), 200 ppm (Z 2 ), 300 ppm (Z 3 ), dan 400 ppm (Z 4 ). Variabel pengamatan dari penelitian termasuk proporsi setek hidup, jumlah daun, volume akar, bobot basah akar, bobot kering akar, bobot basah tajuk, dan bobot kering tajuk. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan dapat disangkal bahwa memberikan auksin dengan konsentrasi 300 ppm mampu meningkatkan jumlah daun setek kopi pada 2 BST.

Abstract

Tanaman induk adalah sumber bahan tanam yang ditanam pada areal lahan yang tidak terlalu luas yang mana tidak sampai menghasilkan buah. Fungsi pupuk KNO3 dapat meningkatkan ketahanan tanaman serta dapat memicu pertumbuhan dan perkembangan fisiologis tanaman. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mencari konsentrasi KNO3 terbaik untuk pertumbuhan cabang ortotrop tanaman induk lada tahun pertama. Penelitian menggunakan 4 taraf perlakuan konsentrasi KNO3 yaitu K0 (Kontrol), K1 (2%), K2 (4%), dan K3 (6%), menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktor tunggal dengan tiga ulangan. Data pengamatan dianalisis ragam uji F taraf 5%, apabila terdapat perbedaan pengaruh yang signifikan maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT). Variabel yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah tinggi cabang ortotrop, jumlah daun, jumlah ruas cabang ortotrop, jumlah cabang ortotrop yang tumbuh, indeks kehijauan daun, dan luas daun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi pupuk KNO3 berpengaruh pada variabel jumlah daun dan jumlah ruas pada umur 4 dan 5 Bulan Setelah Perlakuan (BSP), sedangkan variabel tinggi cabang ortotrop, jumlah cabang orthotrop, indeks kehijauan daun, dan luas daun tidak dipengaruhi oleh KNO3.Kata kunci: Tanaman induk, KNO3, cabang ortotrop

Abstract

Pohon induk merupakan tanaman yang ditanam pada areal tertentu sebagai sumber bahan tanam. Pemberian pupuk dengan dosis yang cukup pada tanaman lada diperlukan untuk mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan dosis pupuk NPK yang terbaik bagi pertumbuhan tanaman induk lada tahun kedua. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Politeknik Negeri Lampung dan Laboratorium Analisis Kimia Politeknik Negeri Lampung. Penelitian dimulai pada Oktober 2019 sampai dengan Agustus 2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktor tunggal dengan empat perlakuan dan setiap percobaan diulang tiga kali sehingga terdapat 12 satuan percobaan. Setiap satuan percobaan terdiri atas tiga tanaman. Perlakuan dosis pupuk NPK terdiri atas tiga taraf, yaitu 287,5 g.tanaman-1.tahun-1 (P1), 575 g.tanaman-1.tahun-1 (P2), 862,5 g.tanaman-1.tahun-1 (P3), dan sebagai kontrol menggunakan pupuk tunggal dengan dosis pupuk yaitu urea sebesar 200 g.tanaman-1.tahun-1, SP-36 96 g.tanaman-1.tahun-1,dan  KCl 40 g.tanaman-1.tahun-1 (P0).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk NPK sampai dosis tertinggi belum mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman induk lada pada tahun kedua, kecuali pada indeks kehijauan daun dosis 575 g.tanaman-1.tahun-1 dengan nilai rata-rata tertinggi 41,42.

Abstract

Pepper (Piper nigrum L.) is one of the estate crops with high economic value and a foreign exchange earner for Indonesia, but its productivity is still low. For this reason, nutrient management is essential to increase the productivity of pepper parent plants. This study aimed to obtain the best composition of foliar fertilizer for pepper parent plant growth, obtain the best spraying frequency of foliar fertilizer for pepper parent plant growth, and obtain the best combination of composition and spraying frequency of foliar fertilizer for pepper parent plant growth. The study was conducted from November 2020 to April 2021 using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with a factorial pattern of 4 × 2. The first factor was the composition of foliar fertilizers with four levels of treatment, namely control (D0), NPK foliar fertilizers 11:8:6 (D1), NPK foliar fertilizer 20:15:15 (D2), and NPK foliar fertilizer 32:10:10 (D3). The second factor is spraying frequency of foliar fertilizer with two levels of treatment, namely every two weeks (F1) and every four weeks (F2). Each treatment was repeated three times and each experimental unit consisted of two parent plants. Observational data was analyze using analysis of variance and continued with the honestly significant difference test (HSD) at the 5% level. The results showed that the composition of NPK foliar fertilizer 20:15:15 with the spraying frequency every two weeks gave a significant effect but did not give the best effect. Significant interactions were shown in the observation variables of number of leaf, number of internode, leaf greenness index, leaf area number three, and leaf dry weight number three.

Abstract

Sugarcane cultivation in dryland is faced with a lack of water availability and low P content in the soil. The technology that is expected to improve the productivity of dry land planted with sugar cane is the use of microbial technology, such as the arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi (AMF) which are synergized with compost planting media as a soil mixture. This study aims to obtain the optimum dose of AMF inoculants, to get the best composition of the planting media, and to get the interaction between AMF inoculant doses on the growth of sugarcane. The study was conducted at the Politeknik Negeri Lampung Teaching Farm from November 2017 to June 2018. The experiment was using a factorial randomized block design with three replications. The first factor is the AMF inoculant dose which consists of four levels (0 g/bucket, 5 g/bucket, 10 g/bucket, and 15 g/bucket); while the second factor is the composition of the compost: subsoil planting media consisting of four levels (0%: 100%, 25%: 75%, 50%: 50%, and 75%: 25%). The results showed the application of AMF inoculants up to 15 g/bucket had not been able to increase the growth of sugarcane. The composition of the planting media 25% compost: 75% subsoil has been able to increase the number of tillers, number of leaves, and stem diameter of sugarcane. There was no interaction between AMF inoculant dose and the composition of the planting media on the growth of sugarcane. Sugarcane requires fertile soil conditions, enough water, and not flooded.

Abstract

One of the efforts that can be made to optimize the growth of double tone oil palm seedlings is to apply an appropriate combination of fertilization. The purpose of this study was to obtain the best KNO3 concentration and dose of NPK fertilizer in optimizing the growth of double tone oil palm seedlings in the main nursery. The research was carried out from December to July 2021. The research location was in the Oil Palm Seedling Business Unit of the Lampung State Polytechnic, Rajabasa, Bandar Lampung. This research was conducted using a factorial randomized block design (RAK) which was repeated 5 times. The first factor is the concentration of KNO3 fertilizer which consists of 3 levels, namely 0%, 2%, and 4%. The second factor is the dose of Compound NPK fertilizer which consists of 2 levels, namely 2.5 g and 5 g. Observations were made on the variables of seedling height, seedling diameter, leaf greenness, number of midribs and leaf area. Observational data were analyzed by F test at level =5%. If the results of the analysis of variance are significant, then it is continued with the smallest significant difference test (BNT) at the level of =5%. The results showed that the application of 4% KNO3 with a dose of 5 g compound NPK fertilizer showed the best results in optimizing the growth of double tone oil palm seedlings in the main nursery on all observation variables.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the world's most enormous vanilla (Vanilla planifolia A.) producing countries. Propagation of vanilla plants by vegetative means using cuttings consisting of 1-3 segments, each node of vanilla has the potential to remove roots and shoots so that with this potential, it is possible for vanilla to be propagated by cuttings. Still, the growing ability is meagre, so special treatment is needed by giving plant growth regulators (PGR). Information regarding using NAA on the growth of vanilla cuttings has not been found. Therefore, this study was conducted to obtain the best NAA concentration for the growth of vanilla seedlings. This research was carried out from July - November 2021 in the experimental garden of the Politeknik Negeri Lampung. The method used was a single factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) with five treatments and five replications, so there were 25 experimental units. The treatment consisted of five levels, namely 0 ppm (R0), 100 ppm (R1), 200 ppm (R2), 300 ppm (R3), and 400 ppm (R4). The data was analysed using the F test. If there is a difference, proceed with the HSD test at the 5% level. The results showed that the 200 ppm (R2) NAA concentration gave the highest average value for several variables, namely, shoot height (16.86 cm), number of leaves (4.68), number of internodes (4.84), and root length (57.05 cm) at the age of 30 DAP to 120 DAP.
