Abstract

Barong Landung when with religious beliefs will be the last resort if humans encounter problems that cannot be solved with common sense, such as pest attacks on plants, infectious diseases in the community and so on. The magical and religious aspects of Barong Landung are presented as a manifestation of God in ritual ceremonies that are applied to expel disturbing bhuta kala. The form of Barong Landung in Sembung Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency consists of: (1) historical form; the form of barong landung related to the history of the ancient Balinese king, namely King Balingkang who was married to a Chinese named Kang Ching We who was cursed by Dewi Danu which caused the king and his consort to turn into statues of men and women who were often nicknamed barong landung; (2) the shape is seen from the way it is made (anthromorphic motifs (human motifs), mythological story themes, smooth tapel types, symbolism expressions, complete faces); (3) form based on aesthetics (using clothing and accessories). The functions of Barong Landung in Sembung Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency are: a function as a sacred art (religious magic), and a function as a syncretization of Chinese culture and Balinese culture. The Philosophical Meanings of Barong Landung in Sembung Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, namely: The meaning of the essence of human life, the spirit of facing life, the meaning of aesthetics, the meaning of rwa bhineda.

Abstract

As the center of culture, the Balinese language acts as a civilization builder. Building a civilization is synonymous with building humans, which includes building ethics and aesthetics. As cultured creatures, humans are very concerned about the development of ethics and aesthetics properly for the existence of human civilization itself. Balinese language in this case will accommodate the development of ethics and aesthetics, seen from the Balinese language used as a means of communication that is polite and polite as well as the existence of aesthetic diction in social life in society. There are two important things that will be discussed in this paper, namely: How is the Balinese language in the development of ethical knowledge? and how is the Balinese language in the development of aesthetic knowledge? Based on a glimpse of the background of the Balinese language when it is associated with ethics and aesthetics, the results of the discussion can be presented as described below. (1) Balinese language as a developer of ethical knowledge, which can be used in social behavior, as seen from the words that have the value of respect; either to respect the interlocutor or to humiliate the speaker (basa Bali alus singgih, basa Bali alus sor, basa Bali alus madya, and basa Bali alus mider). (2) Balinese language as a developer of aesthetic knowledge, which can be used in art, so that human life will be happier because it can be entertained from the existence of Balinese language that contains beauty (mabebasan tradition in pesantian, modern Balinese poetry, Balinese songs as a form of musicalization of Balinese poetry, novels and short stories containing intrinsic and extrinsic beauty values, and Balinese language in the art of calligraphy/rerajahan).

Abstract

Lontar Text is one of the relics that is loaded with noble values that need to be preserved and disseminated so that it can be used as a guide to living both in social life and religious life. Various ejection are published with the aim to more easily convey the teachings of Hinduism to the public to improve Sraddha and Bhakti, one of which is the ejection of Gaguritan Garuda Nebus Biyang which can be used as an effort to internalize values in basic education. The educational values contained in the ejection of Gaguritan Garuda Nebus Biyang which can be used as an effort to internalize values in basic education are the values of honesty, the value of loyalty, and moral values. The value of honesty is shown by the Garuda when he brings tirta amerta without trying or touching it first; the value of loyalty could be demonstrated by the Kadru when he kept his words freeing the Winata from his culture if the Garuda succeeded in bringing the tirta amerta before him; while moral values can also be seen in the character of the Garuda, which is devoted to parents, shown by the Garuda who is valiant and unyielding to get a tirta amerta. Keywords:  Geguritan Garuda Nebus Biyang Text, Valuation Internalization, Basic Education

Abstract

The preservation of the Balinese language cannot only preserve the existence of Balinese language, script, and literature. In order to be sustainably maximized, Balinese should also be empowered to take a role in economic life. There must be creativity of human ideas that support the Balinese language in order to exist in entrepreneurship, as a creative economic development. Therefore, the writing will discuss issues relating to the creative economy and efforts to develop Balinese in the creative economy. Economic activities, which in their development are called creative economics, penetrate into various aspects of life related to the needs of human life, including also relating to speaking in Balinese. The existence of Balinese in the development of the creative economy that is developing in various fields, namely: crafts (by processing palm leaves written in Balinese script); fashion (by using a T-Shirt that reads Balinese or Latin); music (through Balinese pop songs); Performing arts (through Cenk Blonk puppet show); (by utilizing social media, the Balinese language is introduced to the public through creative and interesting videos).  Keywords: creative economy, entrepreneurship, Balinese language

Abstract

Language as a social activity is part of culture. Language is a very important community legacy, its function, position and benefits. Likewise with the Balinese language as a means of communication in Balinese society. Balinese is used as an introduction in Balinese life. In the life of the community, the Balinese language has an important role as a communication tool because the Balinese language is located as a mother tongue. Mother tongue is the first language that is mastered by humans from birth through interactions with fellow members of the language community, such as family and community environment. As a mother tongue, Balinese has a function, namely: a symbol of regional pride and Balinese society, a symbol of Balinese identity, a means of communication within the Balinese family and community, and supporters of Balinese regional literature and the growth of Indonesian language and literature. Based on a brief description of the background of this paper, there are three issues that need to be discussed, namely: what is the nature and elements of Balinese culture?, and how is the relationship between Balinese language and Balinese Culture?

Abstract

Lontar Kala Purana is one of the classical literature in Bali. This Lontar is one of the Hindu texts containing stories about Sang Hyang Kala and Sang Hyang Panca Kumara and its relation to the implementation of the manusa yajna ceremony in Bali which is a sapuhlegernceremony namely pangruwatan ceremony for people born to wuku wayang. Based on a brief description of the background in front, there are several things that can be raised as the following meaning of Lontar Kala Purana?, and (3) what value found in Lontar Kala Purana? Based on the analysis carried out, the results of this study are as follows: (1) philosophically the text of Lontar Kala Purana contains the meaning of time majesty (Kala) which is the  ower/omnipotenceof God Almighty/Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, (2) symbolically the text of Lontar Kala Purana contains several meanings (teachings of leadership, warning, asuri sampad, and daiwi sampad, (3) values of ethics (respect for parents and tolerance).

Abstract

Geguritan Japatuan in the story there are two main characters who have different characters in observing something. Based on this background, there are three formulations to be discussed, namely: (1) what is the teaching structure contained in Geguritan Japatuan?, (2) what is the concept of divinity in the Geguritan Japatuan text?, and (3) how is local wisdom contained in Geguritan Japatuan text? In data discovery used literature study techniques, while in data analysis used descriptive qualitative techniques; while in writing, verbal language is used narratively, with a combination of inductive and deductive techniques. Structurally, the Geguritan Japatuan text can be divided into three parts: introduction, content, and closing. The concept of God in Geguritan Japatuan is the mention of the name of God as a manifestation of God, namely: Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Indra; While Local Wisdom in Geguritan Japatuan is related to Catur Sanak.

Abstract

Geguritan not only as entertainment alone, but can be said as a means for an author inconveying his ideas, and invites us to remember our identity and culture is very valuable. Theprocess of creating geguritan is still ongoing in society, with various main topics and actualthemes being warmed up in the community. Proven with the birth of Geguritan Yadnya RingKuruksetra. Geguritan is loaded with the value of life, especially in terms of the implementationof a yadnya based on the teachings of Hinduism. This geguritan raises the virtue of a sincereiklasan wrapped in a very simple story. The values contained therein are packaged in a structure,they can be used as guidance in people’s lives. The problem to be studied as the target of thisresearch is about the aspect of the content concerning the structure that builds the values ofGeguritan Yadnya Ring Kurusetra namely: (1) how is the structure of Geguritan Yadnya RingKurusetra? and (2) how are the values of longing in Yadnya Ring Kurusetra Geguritan. Thetheory used in this study is the structural theory of literature, especially with regard to its intrinsicstudy. Writing method used is literature study on text over script and translation GeguritanYadnya Ring Kuruksetra. In the analysis used descriptive qualitative method with combinedtechnique of deductive with inductive. Based on the study conducted, Geguritan Yadnya RingKuruksetra using the language of Bali Kepara and using a kind of pupuh, namely pupuh sinom.Behind the simplicity of the story there are very great values contained religious values (reflectedin the Three Basic Frameworks of Hinduism), which is very useful, as a guide of Hindu societyin the life of society. Values are very interesting, can be used as a very good example forHindus, especially Hindus in Bali. Abstract

Character education can be integrated in learning on any subject. Learning materialsrelated to norms or values in each subject need to be developed, exported, and attributed to thecontext of daily life. Thus, learning character values is not only on the cognitive level, buttouching on internalization, and the real practice in the lives of daily learners in the community.In this study there are several problems that will be discussed namely: (1) How is the role ofBalinese language in shaping the character? and (2) How is the implementation of charactereducation in Balinese language? Balinese language and literary works have a very importantrole in facing the life of Balinese people who have character in accordance with the purpose ofnational character education. Balinese language is not outdated, does not appreciate the nationallanguage. But this is a Balinese form of character that truly characterizes the Balinese. This isa form of local wisdom that later if still sustainable will have a broader impact on improvingintelligence, benefit in social life, love of ancestral heritage, and will ultimately affect the Theworld of Bali's tourism that features culture and more breadth will scent our beloved countrynamely Indonesia.

Abstract

The construction of Palinggih Padmasana as a simbul (Niyasa) that embodies Ida Sang Hyang Widhi needs to pay attention to the structure, layout, and aesthetics of Palinggih, because it is related to the sanctity of Palinggih itself as the ancestral heritage of Hindus.  Based on the problems studied, the type of research used in this study is descriptive - qualitative research because it is a type of case study, namely research that only describes, describes, and summarizes all the objects studied from various existing conditions and situations. The research was located at SMPN 2 Singaraja, Buleleng District, Buleleng Regency. The results of the study were processed as follows (1) The Structure and Layout of Padmasana's Most Powerful Room in The Junior High School (SMP) Negeri 2 Singaraja, Buleleng District, applies the tri Hita Karana concept in its construction, also guided by the concept of the tri mandala zone. (2) Padmasana's Most Intense Aesthetic Value in The Junior High School (SMP) Negeri 2 Singaraja Buleleng District is adjusted to three characteristics, namely Unity, Complexity and Solemnity. (3) Social Religious Perspectives of Residents in Junior High School (SMP) Negeri 2 Singaraja, Buleleng District, on the Structure, Spatial And Aesthetics of Padmasana. Most powerfully Padmasana which is the place of worship of Hyang Widhi which is full of religious values has contributed to the formation of the religious character of the school residents because of the intense relationship between the school residents and god, with their neighbors and with their environment, or often known as Tri Hita Karana.Keywords: Structure, Layout, Aesthetics, Padmasana, Social Religious
