Abstract

Injected contraception is the most contraception method chosen by Indonesian women. There are 2 types of injected contraception, 3 monthly injecion which consists of progesterone  only and 1 monthly injection consists of a combination of oesterogen-progesterone. One of its side effect is body weight gain, which is  usually distressing for women due to the increase risk of suffering from many diseases such as heart attack, type-2 diabetes mellitus, sleep apnea, certain cancer, osteoarthritis, and asthma.The study aim was to identify the difference weight gain occurence between 3 monthly and 1 monthly injected contraception users in Karang Kidul Village- South Magelang District. Sample size were 46 respondents for 3 monthly injection and 46 respondents for 1 monthly injection. Case control design were applied and Mann-Whitneystatistical test were used with p value of  0.05 were applied.The result showed a  ρ value of  0,00 which meant there was a difference in weight gain occurence between the users of 3 monthly and 1 monthly injected contraception. The 3 monthly  injection had been proven increasing the incidence of weight gain compared to the 1 monthly one.It was suggested that midwives should give proper counselling regarding to side effect of increasing weight gain during the use of 3 monthly contraceptive injection to be aware of by the users. Further investigation on other influencing factors of weight gain among contraceptive injection users.

Abstract

Symptoms that often arise in the early months of pregnancy are nausea followed by vomiting (emesis). The content of Linalil in lemon aromatherapy is useful for normalizing the emotional state and unbalanced state of the body and functions as a sedative. The pungent odor caused by geranil acetate can stimulate the release of hormones that can calm and cause feelings of calm and affect the physical and mental changes of pregnant women so that complaints of nausea and vomiting are reduced.The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of lemon aromatherapy in overcoming the emesis of gravidarum. This type of research is quasy-experimental, in the form of Pretest-Postest with Control Group Design. Retrieval of research data using a closed questionnaire with Rhodes Index of Nausea Vomiting and Retching (INVR). Sampling with a total sampling of 46 patients was divided into 3 groups, namely 0.1 ml / 0.2 ml / 0.3 ml aromatherapy intervention. Processing data using ANOVA test.The results of the study state that there is no difference in the effectiveness of each dose of lemon aromatherapy in overcoming the emesis of gravidarum. Descriptively, there was a difference in changes in the score of nausea and vomiting in each dose group, namely 7; 17; 20.The results of this study are expected to be used as input for the Head of the Health Office in establishing policies on herbal medicine as a substitute for pharmacological drugs so that midwives can use alternative therapies to overcome complaints of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women. For companies herbal medicine can be used as a discourse to create herbal products, especially lemon aromatherapy with varied doses and affordable prices as a therapy to treat nausea and vomiting in pregnant women

Abstract

Reproductive health received special attention globally at the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Cairo, Egypt. Since the conference, the rights of youth to be well informed about reproductive health and reproductive health services have been consistently confirmed. One of the efforts to fulfill these rights is by providing knowledge using health education media, including a module. To develop a product in form of a module which contains information on adolescent reproductive health as an innovative effort that are acceptable in terms of feasibility. This development research uses quantitative and qualitative methods, applying the Borg Gall development model which has been modified by the Center for Education Policy and Innovation Research Team of the Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of National Education. In order to determine the feasibility of the module, the product validity test was carried out by material experts, media experts, practitioner experts, and module trials. A questionnaire was used as the instrument to determine the feasibility of the module. A health education media has been produced in the form of a module that has been validated by 3 (three) experts, namely health promotion experts, health promotion practitioners and media experts and has been declared feasible and has been tested on a small group of 30 teenagers. The module has been declared eligible and has an ISBN and has had a creation record. It is recommended that the Health Promotion team of the public health cooperate with the BKKBN to educate peer counselors and use the module in providing health education about adolescent reproductive health

Abstract

Pregnancy is an important transition period in the biochemical, physiological and anatomical changes of the female body. Prenatal Class as a forum for pregnant women and their families to obtain information together and learn about maternal and child health as the main social support during pregnancy. Men who feel unprepared for fatherhood tend to be fathers who are not involved early, resulting in a difficult transition into parenthood, less likely to become committed fathers. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the low participation of husbands in the Prenatal Class. This type of research is analytic research with a cross sectional approach. Population of husbands of pregnant women class participants in the city of Magelang. The sample in this study used the cross-sectional sample size formula and obtained a total sample of 48 people, taken using purposive sampling using a questionnaire instrument. Statistical analysis with Spearman Rho correlation test. Interpretation of statistical test results is based on the p value, the strength and direction of the correlation. The results of the analysis in testing the hypothesis by looking at the significance value, there is a significant influence on the factors of education (0.000), employment (0.000), socialization (0.009) and there is no effect of age (0.774), number of pregnancies (0.494) on husband's participation in class pregnant mother. Factors of education, employment, and socialization affect participation, while age, number of pregnancies do not affect husband's participation in classes for pregnant women.
