Abstract

Sundanese Volcano were built by two geological systems, as reflected by its geomorphologic appearances. First, the system of tertiary sedimentary rocks stratigraphically composed by Subang Formation and successively overlayed by Kaliwangu and Citalang Formations, and Second, the quaternary volcanic rock system. This research aims to find out tectonic control on both systems by analyzing the morphometry features, and the indication of watershed morphology, by the application of the statistical verification. Data were collected through field observation including the measurement of fractures and other geomorphologic features. The Landsat image analysis and digital topographic interpretation have been undertaken to obtain the data on river segment, the direction of lineament, drainage density, bifurcation ratio of river segment, geomorphological index of Vt (high-low ratio of the valley), Vratio (cross-valley ratio), SL (index gradient of the river), Smf (Mountain-front sinuosity), and Facet percentage (Facet face of the mountains).The geomorphologic features were controlled by the tectonic development. General pattern of the azimuth direction of the fracture, the direction of alignment and the river segments in the Tertiary rocks system exhibited the same direction as the general pattern of fracture azimuth, the direction of alignment and direction of river segments in Quaternary volcanic rocks system. The tectonic control on the Tertiary rocks continued to the Quaternary volcanic rocks. Neo-tectonic evolved the Tertiary sedimentary rocks and the Quaternary volcanic rocks systems. The difference value watershed morphometry, as well as the geomorphological index values on Tertiary sedimentary rocks and Quaternary volcanic rocks demonstrated that the intensity of tectonics differ significantly in both groups. It is presumed that the tectonics in the Quaternary system was more active than the Tertiary system. In conclusion, the Tertiary and Quaternary rocks were influenced by neo-tectonics manifested in a variety of geomorphological features such as typical geomorphic depression (wedging), identifying landslides in both Tertiary and Quaternary rocks systems. The evidence might be important in analyzing the occurances of the landslide in Purbaleunyi highway connecting Jakarta and Bandung which are strongly presumed to be closely related to the neo-tectonic activities. Similarly, the attention should be drawn to anticipate the acute landsliding in the planned Cileunyi-Cirebon highway connecting Bandung and Cirebon.****Gunungapi Sunda tersusun atas dua sistem geologi yang dicerminkan oleh kenampakan geomorfologinya yaitu sistem batuan sedimen tersier yang secara stratigrafi tersusun oleh Formasi Subang dan di atasnya secara tidak selaras ditutupi Formasi Kaliwangu dan Formasi Citalang serta sistem batuan vulkanik kuarter. Metode penelitian dengan analisis variabel morfometri berupa Daerah Aliran Sungai dan Indeks Geomorfologi, serta verifikasi uji statistik. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan melalui penelitian lapangan meliputi pengukuran azimut kekar, serta penelitian geologi lapangan lainnya. Sementara analisis melalui citra Landsat dan dijital topografi dilakukan untuk mendapatkan data arah segmen sungai, arah kelurusan, kerapatan aliran, nisbah percabangan sungai, indeks geomorfologi Vf (Perbandingan tinggi rendah lembah), Vratio (Rasio penampang lembah), SL (Indeks gradien sungai), Smf (Sinusitas muka pegunungan/ Mountain-front sinusosity), dan Facet % (Facet muka pegunungan). Pola umum azimut kekar, arah kelurusan dan arah segmen sungai pada sistem batuan sedimen Tersier memiliki arah yang sama dengan pola umum azimut kekar, arah kelurusan dan arah segmen sungai pada sistem batuan vulkanik Kuarter. Kendali tektonika yang signifikan pada batuan Tersier berlanjut hingga ke Kuarter. Dengan demikian neotektonik berkembang pada sistem batuan sedimen Tersier dan sistem batuan vulkanik Kuarter. Perbedaan nilai morfometri DAS, serta nilai indeks geomorfologi pada sistem batuan sedimen Tersier dan sistem batuan vulkanik Kuarter menunjukan bahwa intensitas tektonik pada kedua kelompok batuan berbeda. Dapat ditenggarai bahwa tektonika pada sistem Kuarter lebih aktif dari pada sistem Tersier. Secara keseluruhan batuan yang berumur Tersier dan Kuarter dipengaruhi oleh neotektonik yang dicirikan oleh berbagai fenomena geomorfologi berupa morfologi khas/ unik dan adanya zona depresi (wedging) yang dapat diidentifikasi serta longsor yang kerap terjadi pada penyebaran kedua sistem terebut. Nampaknya kejadian longsor pada bahu jalan tol Purbaleunyi tidak terlepas dari gejala neotektonik ini, selanjutnya untuk menjadi perhatian dalam perencanaan jalan tol Cileunyi - Cirebon yang akan datang.

Abstract

DOI:10.17014/ijog.7.2.201-213To find out volcanic characteristics, a geochemical approach can be used, one of which is through the measurement of deuterium and oxygen-18 isotopes from condensate and crater water samples. In this study, Dieng Plateau in Central Java was chosen, because it has a wide spread of fumarole fields and crater water. In addition, research in the Dieng Plateau is very useful in the management of geological-based tourism and geopark development in the future. Results of isotope analysis in Candradimuka Crater show the average number of isotope deuterium is δD – 500/00 and isotope oxygen-18 is δ18O –30/00 which produce the value of the mixing fraction of f 18O = 47.11%. This figure is the highest isotope number compared to other craters on the Dieng Plateau. The high value of the isotope-18 mixing fraction is supported by a strong plume from three vents in Candradimuka. Meanwhile, the results of crater water isotope tests obtained the highest results in Sikidang Crater with the value of the deuterium isotope is δD = – 10.300/00 and the isotope oxygen-18 is δ18O = 6.570/00 which are in the metamorphic water area from the mixing of magmatic processes with surface meteoric water. Based on the deuterium isotope approach with oxygen-18 crater water and fumarole condensate supported by subsurface temperature data, most of the Dieng Plateau has magmatic-hydrothermal characteristics, except Candradimuka Crater which belongs to the magmatic group.

Abstract

Kabupaten Konawe dan Kabupaten Konawe Utara merupakan bagian dari Kawasan Strategis Nasional (KSN) Soroako dan sekitarnya, yang dicanangkan sebagai wilayah dengan komoditi unggulan pertambangan nikel. Penentuan kawasan pertambangan berbasis komoditi unggulansumberdaya nikel ini menggunakan pendekatan Satuan Genetika Wilayah (SGW) dan memanfaatkan Teknologi Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG).Valuasi matrik holistik SGW menghasilkan 204 nilai SGW di Kabupaten Konawe dan 248 nilai SGW di Kabupaten Konawe Utara. Valuasi matrik holistik tersebut, menunjukkan adanya keterkaitan  aspek potensi dan kendala wilayah terhadap total nilai valuasi SGW. Berdasarkan valuasi SGW dan analisis SWOT  kawasan pertambangan prioritas I, maka dapat direkomendasikan bahwa SGW Pedataran Patahan Batuan Ultramafik daerah Langikima dan Wiwirano serta SGW Pedataran Batuan Ultramafik daerah Asera, Andowia, Wiwirano dan Molawe sebagai Kawasan Andalan Pertambangan Nikel, dengan total sumberdaya sekitar 1,14 Milyar Ton, dan nilai valuasi skenario dikembangkan/ditambang berkisar 248 hingga 298.

Abstract

The upstream part of the watershed (DAS) extremely affects the downstream area, one of the erosion processes in the upstream and sedimentation processes in the downstream. This must be considered because excess sedimentation from downstream could potentially cause flooding. The rocks in the study area are dominated by volcanic rocks with various levels of resistance to erosion, from highly resistant lava to highly volatile volcanil materials. The research was conducted with studio analysis, laboratory analysis, normalization and correlation tests. The results of the study shows that the area has various values of erosion and sedimentation, because the Cimanuk watershed has various rock types due to volcanism. However, the value of erosion and sedimentation are directly proportional and highly correlated, this proves that indeed erosion in the upstream part highly affects sedimentation in the downstream part of the Cimanuk watershed.

Abstract

The research area is in the Sarimukti region, Cipatat District, West Bandung Regency, West Java Province. Geographically is at 107 ° 19’51.9024 “EL—107 ° 22’34.9392” EL and - 6 ° 49’56.7156 “SL —-6 ° 47’14.8344” SL. The research area is hill which is dominated by volcanic rock. Based on the physiographic aspects, the research area is include in Bandung Zone. Geological mapping aims to determine the geomorphological conditions in the construction of landfill site in the research area using field and studio approaches. Some of the methods used include geomorphological aspects as well as an assessment of the regional stage of the landfill weighting criteria. The results in the research area are the geomorphological unit of volcanic hills gentle slopes, the geomorphological unit of volcanic hills slightly steep slopes, the geomorphological unit of volcanic hills steep slope, and the geomorphological unit of denudational hills slightly slopes. According to the geomorphological and weighting analysis of the regional stage, it is assessed that this land needs to be subjected to a rather heavy technology engineering, or it is moved to land that is deemed more suitable for landfill.

Abstract

The shape of the earth's surface that exists today is the result of geological processes that have taken place during the geological period which can show how the characteristics and distribution of the rocks. This research was conducted to find out how the geomorphological conditions were by analyzing the morphographic, morphometric, and morphogenetic aspects as a geomorphological shaper in an area. The research location is in Mekarjaya Village, Ciemas District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java which has geomorphological conditions that are influenced by the existence of old submarine volcano activity which then uplifted and exposed by intensive tectonic processes. The method used in this study combines qualitative and quantitative aspects supported by satellite imagery, data processing applications, and references from previous research. The results of this study show that there are 2 geomorphological units in the study area, namely the Slightly Steep Volcanic Hills Unit and Steep Volcanic Hills Unit with andesitic lava rock distribution and volcanic breccia. The river flow pattern that developed is a rectangular drainage pattern.
