Abstract

Factors Influencing Production of Wetland Paddy (Oryza sativa L.) in Serdang Bedagai District. Sedang Bedagai Regency is one of rice producing areas in North Sumatra with the production is increasing from year to year. Production of wetland paddy is determined by total paddy area, harvested area, plant pest, and other production factors. The purpose of this research was to find influence of total paddy area, harvested area, and pest attacked area to rice production in Serdang Bedagai District, North Sumatera.The data used was the data series of rice production in the period of 2007-2017 (11 years). Multiple linear regression analysis was employed to analyze those data. The results showed that rice production in the study area was influenced by total paddy area, harvested area, pest attacked area as shown by the value of F-count > F-table. Furthermore, t-test showed that  only harvested area variable had a positive correlation on the rice production while land area and pest attacked area shown negative correlation.Keywords: wetland paddy, production, Serdang Bedagai  ABSTRAK Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai menjadi salah satu daerah penghasil beras di Provinsi Sumatera Utara dengan produksi yang terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Produktivitas padi sangat ditentukan oleh penggunaan faktor-faktor produksi seperti luas lahan, luas panen, organisme pengganggu tanaman (OPT), dan faktor produksi lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh luas lahan, luas panen, dan luas serangan OPT terhadap produksi padi sawah di Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai, Sumatera Utara. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah data deret waktu (time series) dari tahun 2007-2017 (11 tahun). Analisis regresi linier berganda digunakan untuk menganalisis data tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produksi beras di Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai dipengaruhi oleh total luas padi, luas panen, dan luas serangan OPT yang ditunjukkan oleh nilai F-hitung> F-tabel. Uji-t menunjukkan bahwa hanya variabel luas panen yang memiliki korelasi positif terhadap produksi beras, sedangkan luas lahan dan daerah yang terserang OPT menunjukkan korelasi negatif.Kata kunci: padi sawah, produksi, Serdang Bedagai

Abstract

Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands 9(1): 41-49.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the application effects of three different compound fertilizers on yield, and assess the income increase at different rates of compound fertilizers. Three compound fertilizers namely NPK 14-0-46, NPK 19-9-19 and NPK 11-11-11 was conducted at three different farmers’ field in Langkat District, North Sumatra Province under upland conditions. In each farmers’ field, a Randomized Complete Block Design was applied with four replications per treatment.  Seven treatments tested consisted of full rate of farmer fertilizer practice and six rates of each compound fertilizer plus half rate of farmer fertilizer practice. In each of compound fertilizer tested, pod yield and seed yield increased quadratically as increasing compound fertilizer rates. The highest pod yield and seed yield of peanut were 1649 kg/ha and 1072 kg/ha, respectively with half rate of FFP + 200 kg of NPK 14-0-46. For compound fertilizer NPK 19-9-19 the highest pod yield and seed yield were 1632 kg/ha and 1032 kg/ha with half rate of FFP + 500 kg of NPK 19-9-19 while for compound fertilizer NPK 11-11-11 the highest pod yield seed yield were 1421 kg/ha and 930 kg/ha with half rate of FFP + 250 kg of NPK 11-11-11. However, adding each  half rate of farmer fertilizer practices with  200 kg of NPK 14-0-46 or 300 kg of NPK 19-9-19 or 250 kg of NPK 11-11-11 with HypoMa-1 cultivar gave the highest values of the benefit for the farmers under upland soil in Langkat, North Sumatra.

Abstract

Black ghost fish is a fish which is good economic value, both in the national and international scope. Market demand for the black ghost fish high, so it requires an effort to fulfill consumer demand for the black ghost fish. One of the efforts is to giving stimulation with thyroxine hormone into the commercial feed which is used for the growth of the black ghost fish. This research aims to determine the optimum dose of decent used for the growth and survival of black ghost fish optimally. The tested fish used are black ghost fish size of 6 cm which is maintained in an aquarium sized 60 cm×40 cm×40 cm by 13 units with water volume 24 liters per aquarium arranged randomly. The design which is used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with doses of without treatment, 10 mg/kg, 15 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg and 25 mg/kg. The results showed that the optimum dose which is good for the growth and survival of black ghost fish is 25 mg/kg, which is 4.36 cm long growing from the initial length and weight growth of 4.96 g of initial weight.Keywords: Black Ghost, Thyroxine, Growth, Survival Rate

Abstract

Rivers can be used as sources of drinking water and fulfillment of daily life, is also used foraquaculture. To implement an aquaculture activities, the river waters are used as aquaculturemust meet the requirements of physical parameters, chemical parameters and biologicalparameters of water. It is necessary to study the quality of the waters to determine thepotential for development of aquaculture in River Keureuto. To determine the quality of thewaters of the River Keureuto for aquaculture activities is by comparing the quality of thewaters of the River Keureuto that have been studied with the quality standard PP. No. 822001 with storet method. This study was conducted in March-May 2015 in Keureuto River.The method used is purposive sampling method. Samples were taken at 3 stations. Physicaland chemical parameters river waters keureto based Quality Standard PP.
