Abstract

Most of tobacco farmers in Madura cultivate tobacco var. Prancak-95, yet the response of the variety to NPK fertilizer had not been identified. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of NPK fertilizer on growth, yield and quality of madura tobacco var. Prancak-95. The study was conducted on silty loam soil at Lecen-lecen village, Pakong sub district, Pamekasan District, from April to December 2015. Tobacco was planted on early of June 2015 with double row spacing of (130+35)/2 cm x 40 cm. The treatments were arranged using Randomized Block Design with 3 replications. The treatments were 9 combinations of three level of N fertilizer (40, 60, and 80 kg N/ha) and three level of K fertilizer (19, 60.5 and 102 kg K2O/ha), and farmer’s fertilizer package (40 kg N + 36 P + 25 kg K+ 5 tons manure per hectare) as a control treatments. The results showed that yield and quality of madura tobacco var. Prancak-95 was increased when the doses of N and K fertilizers were increased. NPK fertilizer with dosage of 60 kg N + 45 kg P2O5 + 102 kg K2O + 5 tons manure per hectare was enough to produce sliced dried leaf as much 1,168 kg/ha and crop index value of 110.1.Keywords: Nicotiana tabacum L., NPK fertilizers, madura tobacco AbstrakPenanaman tembakau Varietas Prancak-95 telah berkembang luas di Madura, tetapi responnya terhadap pemupukan NPK belum diketahui. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh peningkatan dosis NPK terhadap pertumbuhan, hasil dan mutu tembakau madura varietas Prancak-95. Penelitian dilakukan pada tanah dengan tekstur lempung berdebu di Desa Lecen-lecen, Kecamatan Pakong, Kabupaten Pamekasan dari bulan April hingga Desember 2015. Tanam dilaksanakan pada awal Juni 2015 dengan jarak tanam ganda (130+35)/2 cm x 40 cm. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok dan diulang 3 kali. Perlakuan terdiri dari 9 kombinasi paket pupuk dengan 3 tingkat dosis N : 40, 60, dan 80 kg N/ha dan 3 tingkat dosis K : 19, 60,5 dan 102 kg K2O/ha, dengan kontrol paket pemupukan petani. Separuh dosis N sesuai perlakuan diberikan pada tanaman berumur 7 HST, sedangkan sisanya diaplikasikan saat tanaman berumur 21 HST. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produksi dan mutu tembakau madura varietas Prancak-95 meningkat bila dosis pupuk N dan K ditingkatkan. Dosis pupuk NPK untuk tembakau madura Prancak-95 adalah 60 kg N + 45 kg P2O5 + 102 kg K2O + 5 ton pupuk kandang per hektar. Paket pupuk tersebut dapat menghasilkan tembakau rajangan kering 1.168 kg/ha dengan nilai indeks tanaman 110,1.Kata kunci: Nicotiana tabacum L., pupuk NPK, tembakau madura

Abstract

Tobacco Generally farmers in Lombok apply single fertilizer of ZA or Urea (as a source of N), and SP36 (as source of P), without combining with K and Mg fertilizers. The fertilizers are added more than twice with unappropriates doses. Application of compound fertilizer might increase growth, yield and quality of Virginia fc tobacco at Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province, because the fertilizer consists of NPK macro nutrients which have important role for tobacco. The experiment was carried out at Kopang Rembiga village, Kopang District in 2014. The objective to was identify the effect of NPKMg compound fertilizer on growth, yield and quality of Virginia tobacco. Split Plot Design with three replicates was used to arrange treatments. Three varieties of Virginia tobacco (Coker 176, Coker 319 and NC 297) were set as main plots, and three rates of NPKMg fertilizer (60, 80 and 100 kg N/ha) were arranged as sub plots. Results showed that increasing of NPKMg fertilizer up to 100 kg N/ha increased growth, yield and quality of three varieties of Virginia tobacco. Addition of 100 kg N/ha NPKMg (100 kg N+ 60 kg P2O5 + 133 kg K2O + 13.34 kg MgO per hectare) gave the highest values of grade index and crop index of three varieties, thus the fertilizer could be recommended for Virginia tobacco in Lombok.

Abstract

ABSTRACTHigh Cl content of tobacco might have negative effect on quality. The study tried to find out correlation between added Phonska fertilizer to rice planted before tobacco on tobacco Cl content. The objective was to determine the effect of added Phonska (10.8% Cl) to rice planted before tobacco on tobacco Cl content and quality. The study was carried out in the area of tobacco in five districts of Jombang, East Java Province from May to November 2012. Collecting data was done using survey method to the tobacco farmers and soil and tobacco samples were collecting from 100 points which were distributed in five districts based on land use map. The results showed that the most tobacco farmers (67%) added Phonska to the rice planted before tobacco. Addition of Phonska each year had caused accumulation of Cl in soil with high level >2% (90%). Based on analysis of variance it was known that tobacco Cl content was strongly influenced by Phonska addition to rice planted before tobacco plants (PPP) and soil Cl content, but not influenced by Phonska as starter to tobacco plants (PPT). Cl tembakau bisa berasal dari pemupukan seperti Phonska (10,8% Cl) atau dari tanah. Penelitian observasi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan pupuk Phonska (10,8% Cl) pada padi terhadap mutu dan kadar Cl tembakau yang ditanam setelah padi. Kegiatan penelitian dilaksanakan pada areal penghasil tembakau di lima kecamatan Kabupaten Jombang mulai bulan Mei sampai Nopember 2012. Survei pendahuluan untuk penentuan 100 satuan titik lokasi dilakukan secara proporsional yaitu berdasarkan prosentase terhadap luas areal tanaman tembakau dan mewakili bekas lahan padi yang tidak dipupuk dan yang dipupuk Phonska dari lima kecamatan berdasarkan peta penggunaan lahan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survei, yaitu wawancara petani tembakau tentang penggunaan pupuk phonska pada padi dan tembakau, pengambilan sampel tanah dan daun tembakau. Penilaian mutu/harga tembakau oleh grader pabrik rokok. Sampel tanah dan daun tembakau dianalisis kadar Cl di Laboratorium Mutu Hasil Balai Penelitian Tanaman Pemanis dan Serat. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis secara deskriptif yaitu klasifikasi berdasarkan persentase kejadian. Untuk  mengetahui hubungan atau pengaruh antar variabel dilakukan analisis regresi menggunakan program SPSS. Dari hasil survei diketahui bahwasebagian besar petani (67%) menggunakan pupuk Phonska untuk tanaman padi sebelum tembakau dan akumulasi Cl tanah tergolong tinggi >2% (90%). Dari hasil analisis sidik ragam diketahui bahwa kadar Cl daun tembakau sangat dipengaruhi oleh pemupukan Phonska pada padi sebelum tanaman tembakau (PPP) dan kadar Cl tanah, tetapi tidak dipengaruhi oleh pemupukan Phonska pada Tembakau (PPT) sebagai starter. Abstract

Farmers of Besuki NO cigar tobacco use single fertilizer of ZA or Urea (as a source of N-ammonium), and SP36 (as source of P) in excessive rates which may increase cost of fertilizing and reduce tobacco quality. The experiment which was carried out at Ampel village, District of Wuluhan, Jember in 2015 had an objective to quantify the effect of NPK compound fertilizer on growth, yield, and quality of Besuki NO cigar tobacco. Treatments were packages of fertilizing which include source of compound fertilizer (NPK, KNO3, and KS) and frequency of fertilizer addition (3 and 4 times). The research used Randomized Block Design with 9 treatments of fertilizer package and they were repeated three times. As much 8 treatments of fertilizer packages were compared with farmer’s fertilizer package (650 kg Urea + 25 kg SP36 +100 kg ZA +200 kg KS with 4 times application). Results showed that the highest fresh yield of cigar tobacco (19,6 tons/ha) was produced by farmer’s package. However, the high dried leaves (2,5 ton/ha) and crop index (69,75) were yielded by tobacco with 250 kg NPK + 100 kg Urea + 200 kg ZA + 150 kg KS + 100 kg KNO3 per hectare which were applied 3 times.Keywords: NPK fertilizer, cigar tobacco, yield, grade index, crop indexAbstrakPada umumnya petani tembakau cerutu Besuki NO memberikan pupuk dengan dosis dan waktu pemberian berlebihan dengan jenis pupuk N-amonium, sehingga menyebabkan bertambahnya biaya pupuk dan penurunan mutu tembakau. Penelitian yang dilakukan di Desa Ampel Kecamatan Wuluhan, Jember pada musim tanam 2015 ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh paket pupuk majemuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan, produksi, dan mutu tembakau cerutu Besuki NO. Penelitian didesain menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 9 perlakuan paket pemupukan yang diulang tiga kali. Perlakuan paket pemupukan meliputi sumber pupuk majemuk NPK, KNO3, dan KS, dikombinasikan dengan frekuensi pemupukan sebanyak 3 dan 4 kali, sehingga diperoleh 8 paket pemupukan, yang dibandingkan dengan paket pemupukan petani (650 kg Urea + 25 kg SP36 +100 kg ZA +200 kg KS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan paket dosis petani (650 kg Urea + 25 kg SP36 +100 kg ZA +200 kg KS per hektar diberikan 4 kali menghasilkan produksi basah tertinggi (19,6 ton/ha). Namun demikian hasil tertinggi produksi kering (2,5 ton/ha) dan indeks tanaman (69,75) diperlihatkan oleh tembakau yang dipupuk dengan 250 kg NPK + 100 kg Urea + 200 kg ZA + 150 kg KS + 100 kg KNO3 per hektar dengan frekuensi pemberian 3 kali, yaitu saat tembakau berumur 3, 15, dan 30 hari setelah tanam.Kata kunci: pupuk majemuk, tembakau cerutu, produksi, indeks mutu, indeks tanaman

Abstract

Sugarcane is proved to absorb more Si than any other nutrient from soil; therefore continuous cropping of the plant at the same soil would bring consequences of more Si and organic matter depletion. Silicon (Si) is considered a beneficial nutrient for sugarcane production. Field study was carried out in 2013-2014 at Kempleng village; Purwoasri sub district; Kediri district; East Java. The objective was to find out the effect of frequency and concentration of Si liquid fertilizer on Si and N absorptions, stem diameter and length, yield and commercial cane sugar (CCS) of sugarcane var PSBM 901. Split plot design with three replicates was employed to arrange the treatments. As main plots were frequency of spraying (one time, two times, three times, and four times with interval of 20 days started at 30 days after planting), while as sub plots were concentration of Si fertilizer (0, 15% Si, 30% Si). Results showed that interaction between frequency and concentration of Si affected on all parameters observed. Spraying of sugarcane four times with 30% Si gave highest value of cane yield, rendement, and sugar yield, i.e. 184.16 tons/ha and 8.36%, 15.37 ton/ha respectively.Keywords: sugarcane, yield, commercial cane sugar AbstrakTebu tergolong jenis tanaman akumulator unsur Si, sehingga penanaman secara terus menerus pada lahan yang sama akan berakibat semakin terkurasnya unsur Si dan menurunnya bahan organik dalam tanah. Unsur Si berperan penting terhadap pertumbuhan tebu terutama pada tanah-tanah tropis. Untuk mengetahui efektivitas pupuk Si cair pada tebu, telah dilakukan penelitian lapang pada tahun 2013-2014, yang berlokasi di Desa Kempleng, Kecamatan Purwoasri, Kabupaten Kediri, Jawa Timur. Tujuannya untuk mengetahui pengaruh frekuensi dan konsentrasi pemberian pupuk cair Si terhadap serapan Si dan N, pertumbuhan, produksi dan rendemen tebu varietas PSBM 901. Penelitian disusun dengan Rancangan Petak Terbagi dengan tiga ulangan. Sebagai petak utama adalah frekuensi penyemprotan (1 kali, 2 kali, 3 kali, 4 kali dengan interval 20 hari sekali sejak umur tebu 30 hari). Sebagai anak petak adalah konsentrasi pupuk Si (0, 15%, 30%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara frekuensi penyemprotan dan konsentrasi pupuk Si berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan serapan Si dan N, diameter batang, panjang batang, produksi dan rendemen tebu. Penyemprotan pupuk Si pada tebu sebanyak 4 kali (umur 30, 50, 70 dan 90 hari) dengan konsentrasi 30% Si menghasilkan tebu dengan bobot dan rendemen tertinggi serta gula hablur, yaitu masing-masing sebesar 184,16 ton/ha dan 8,36% serta 15.37 ton/ha.Kata kunci: Tebu, Si, produksi, rendemen

Abstract

Tembakau di Kabupaten Bondowoso diolah dalam bentuk rajangan dan digunakan sebagai pengisi (filler) dalam blending industri pabrik rokok. Areal penanaman tembakau tiap tahun berkisar antara 7.000–9.000 ha, dengan total produksi per tahun berkisar antara 6.000–8.000 ton. Permasalahan yang ada adalah terbatasnya varietas unggul yang telah dilepas. Eksplorasi telah dilakukan pada tahun 2008, dan m endapatkan 6 aksesi. Uji multilokasi 6 aksesi yaitu Somporis 1, Serumpung, Marakot, Somporis ah, Somporis lokal, dan Somporis ch dilakukan di 2–3 lokasi pada tahun 2009 sampai 2011. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memilih kultivar yang memiliki penampilan terbaik. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa Somporis 1 dan Somporis ch merupakan kultivar yang unggul berdasarkan indeks penampilan. Produktivitas Somporis 1 se-besar 0,94 ton/ha, indeks mutu 70,73, dan warna kuning tua (cemerlang). Sedang Somporis ch produktivi-tas 0,73 ton/ha, indeks mutu 71,8, dan sangat aromatis. Kedua kultivar tersebut dapat direkomendasikan sebagai varietas yang unggul dan legal di Bondowoso. Tobacco which was planted in Bondowoso Regency, East Java is processed as air-dried-sliced tobacco and is used as filler in cigarette blending. Tobacco planting area is about 7,000–9,000 ha per year with total pro-duction is about 6,000–8,000 tons. The problem was on Bondowoso tobacco is a shortage availability of superior varieties. The exploration of Bondowoso tobacco was started in 2008 and found six cultivars i.e. Somporis 1, Serumpung, Marakot, Somporis ah, local Somporis, and Somporis ch. Multilocation trials of the six cultivars at 2–3 sites were conducted from 2009–2011. The objective of this research was to select the superior Bondowoso tobacco cultivars. Result showed that Somporis 1 and Somporis ch were the superior varieties based on performance index parameters. Somporis 1 had yield 0.94 tons/ha, quality index 70.73, and dark yellow colour (bright). The yield of Somporis ch were 0.73 tons/ha, it’s quality index 71.8, and very aromatic. These cultivars might be recomended as legalized superior varieties tobacco in Bondowoso.

Abstract

Dua varietas baru tembakau madura yang memiliki daun 3–5 lembar lebih banyak dibanding varietas praktik Prancak-95, Prancak N-1, dan Prancak N-2, telah diperoleh. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh aplikasi beberapa dosis N dan K terhadap produksi dan mutu dua varietas baru tembakau madura.  Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Bajang, Kecamatan Pakong, Kabupaten Pamekasan mulai bulan Januari hingga Desember 2013. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah petak terbagi dan diulang 3 kali. Perlakuan petak utama adalah 2 varietas tembakau madura: Prancak S1 Agribun dan Prancak T1 Agribun. Sebagai anak petak adalah 9 kombinasi jenis dan dosis pupuk N dan K: 1) 40 kg N + 25 kg K2O, 2) 50 kg N + 25 kg K2O, 3) 60 kg N + 25 kg K2O, 4) 40 kg N + 50 kg K2O, 5) 50 kg N + 50 kg K2O, 6) 60 kg N + 50 kg K2O, 7) 40 kg N + 75 kg K2O, 8) 50 kg N + 75 kg K2O, dan 9) 60 kg N + 75 kg K2O/ha. Pupuk SP-36 sebanyak 36 kg P2O5/ha dan pupuk kandang 5 ton/ha diberikan 3 hari sebelum tanam sebagai pupuk dasar. Pupuk N bersumber dari pupuk ZA dan K dari ZK masing-masing 1/3 dosis diberikan pada 10 hari setelah tanam (HST), sedangkan sisa pupuk ZA dan ZK masing-masing 2/3 dosis diaplikasikan pada 21 HST. Pengamatan meliputi pertumbuhan, hasil dan mutu tembakau, rendemen, indeks mutu dan indeks tanaman, serta analisa kadar nikotin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh faktor dua varietas tembakau madura Prancak S1 Agribun dan Prancak T1 Agribun yang diuji relatif sama terhadap pertumbuhan, hasil, dan mutu. Hasil uji kontras menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan dosis pupuk N tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter pertumbuhan, hasil, dan mutu. Namun peningkatan dosis pupuk K berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter pertumbuhan, hasil, dan mutu pada dosis pemupukan N tertentu. Kombinasi pupuk N dan K yang diuji berbeda nyata terhadap parameter panjang dan lebar daun, hasil rajangan kering, rendemen, dan indeks tanaman. Berdasarkan nilai indeks tanaman dan keuntungan tertinggi, bahwa rekomendasi pemupukan untuk varietas tembakau madura Prancak S1 Agribun dan Prancak T1 Agribun adalah 50 kg N + 36 kg P2O5 + 75 kg K2O + 5 ton pupuk kandang/ha.Two varieties of madura tobacco which bears3–5 leaves, more than Prancak-95, Prancak N-1, and Prancak N-2 varieties, had been acquired. This study was aimed to obtain an optimal dose of N and K corresponding to those varieties.  Research was conducted at BajangVillage, PakongDistrict, Pamekasan on January to December 2013. The treatments were arranged in split plots design with varieties were as the main plots and N and K dose rates were a ssubplotwith 3 replicates. The varieties were: PrancakS1 Agribun andPrancakT1 Agribun. The subplots were 9 combinations of type and dose of N and K fertilizers: 1) 40 kg N + 25 kg K2O, 2) 50 kg N + 25 kg K2O, 3) 60 kg N + 25 kg K2O, 4) 40 kg N + 50 kg K2O, 5) 50 kg N + 50 kg K2O, 6) 60 kg N + 50 kg K2O, 7) 40 kg N + 75 kg K2O, 8) 50 kg N + 75 kg K2O, and 9) 60 kg N + 75 kg K2O/ha.Thirty six kg P2O5/ha and 5 tons manure/ha were addedat3 days before transplanting as a basic fertilizers. N was sourced from ZA and K of ZK, one third dose of N and K were added at 10 days after planting (DAP) and the rest of N and K dose were applied at 21 DAP. Observations included growth, yield, and quality of tobacco, rendement, grade and crop indexes, and nicotine analysis. In wet conditions of climate anomalies at the beginning of the dry season of 2013, the results showed that there were no difference between Prancak S1 Agribun and Prancak T1 Agribun varieties of madura tobacco in term of growth, yield, and quality. Contrast test results showed that increasing rates of N fertilizer had no effect on growth, yield and quality. However, increasing dose rates of K affected growth, yield and quality at a given rate of N. Combination of N and K affected length and width leaves, yield, and crop index. Based on crop index and benefit, that the fertilizer recommendation for varieties of madura tobacco Prancak S1 Agribun and Prancak T1 Agribun was 50 kg N + 36 kg P2O5 + 75 kg K2O + 5 tons manure/ha.

Abstract

Sugarcane is proved to absorb more Si than any other nutrient from soil; therefore continuous cropping of the plant at the same soil would bring consequences of more Si and organic matter depletion. Silicon (Si) is considered a beneficial nutrient for sugarcane production. Field study was carried out in 2013-2014 at Kempleng village; Purwoasri sub district; Kediri district; East Java. The objective was to find out the effect of frequency and concentration of Si liquid fertilizer on Si and N absorptions, stem diameter and length, yield and commercial cane sugar (CCS) of sugarcane var PSBM 901. Split plot design with three replicates was employed to arrange the treatments. As main plots were frequency of spraying (one time, two times, three times, and four times with interval of 20 days started at 30 days after planting), while as sub plots were concentration of Si fertilizer (0, 15% Si, 30% Si). Results showed that interaction between frequency and concentration of Si affected on all parameters observed. Spraying of sugarcane four times with 30% Si gave highest value of cane yield, rendement, and sugar yield, i.e. 184.16 tons/ha and 8.36%, 15.37 ton/ha respectively.Keywords: sugarcane, yield, commercial cane sugar AbstrakTebu tergolong jenis tanaman akumulator unsur Si, sehingga penanaman secara terus menerus pada lahan yang sama akan berakibat semakin terkurasnya unsur Si dan menurunnya bahan organik dalam tanah. Unsur Si berperan penting terhadap pertumbuhan tebu terutama pada tanah-tanah tropis. Untuk mengetahui efektivitas pupuk Si cair pada tebu, telah dilakukan penelitian lapang pada tahun 2013-2014, yang berlokasi di Desa Kempleng, Kecamatan Purwoasri, Kabupaten Kediri, Jawa Timur. Tujuannya untuk mengetahui pengaruh frekuensi dan konsentrasi pemberian pupuk cair Si terhadap serapan Si dan N, pertumbuhan, produksi dan rendemen tebu varietas PSBM 901. Penelitian disusun dengan Rancangan Petak Terbagi dengan tiga ulangan. Sebagai petak utama adalah frekuensi penyemprotan (1 kali, 2 kali, 3 kali, 4 kali dengan interval 20 hari sekali sejak umur tebu 30 hari). Sebagai anak petak adalah konsentrasi pupuk Si (0, 15%, 30%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara frekuensi penyemprotan dan konsentrasi pupuk Si berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan serapan Si dan N, diameter batang, panjang batang, produksi dan rendemen tebu. Penyemprotan pupuk Si pada tebu sebanyak 4 kali (umur 30, 50, 70 dan 90 hari) dengan konsentrasi 30% Si menghasilkan tebu dengan bobot dan rendemen tertinggi serta gula hablur, yaitu masing-masing sebesar 184,16 ton/ha dan 8,36% serta 15.37 ton/ha.Kata kunci: Tebu, Si, produksi, rendemen

Abstract

Most of tobacco farmers in Madura cultivate tobacco var. Prancak-95, yet the response of the variety to NPK fertilizer had not been identified. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of NPK fertilizer on growth, yield and quality of madura tobacco var. Prancak-95. The study was conducted on silty loam soil at Lecen-lecen village, Pakong sub district, Pamekasan District, from April to December 2015. Tobacco was planted on early of June 2015 with double row spacing of (130+35)/2 cm x 40 cm. The treatments were arranged using Randomized Block Design with 3 replications. The treatments were 9 combinations of three level of N fertilizer (40, 60, and 80 kg N/ha) and three level of K fertilizer (19, 60.5 and 102 kg K2O/ha), and farmer’s fertilizer package (40 kg N + 36 P + 25 kg K+ 5 tons manure per hectare) as a control treatments. The results showed that yield and quality of madura tobacco var. Prancak-95 was increased when the doses of N and K fertilizers were increased. NPK fertilizer with dosage of 60 kg N + 45 kg P2O5 + 102 kg K2O + 5 tons manure per hectare was enough to produce sliced dried leaf as much 1,168 kg/ha and crop index value of 110.1.Keywords: Nicotiana tabacum L., NPK fertilizers, madura tobacco AbstrakPenanaman tembakau Varietas Prancak-95 telah berkembang luas di Madura, tetapi responnya terhadap pemupukan NPK belum diketahui. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh peningkatan dosis NPK terhadap pertumbuhan, hasil dan mutu tembakau madura varietas Prancak-95. Penelitian dilakukan pada tanah dengan tekstur lempung berdebu di Desa Lecen-lecen, Kecamatan Pakong, Kabupaten Pamekasan dari bulan April hingga Desember 2015. Tanam dilaksanakan pada awal Juni 2015 dengan jarak tanam ganda (130+35)/2 cm x 40 cm. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok dan diulang 3 kali. Perlakuan terdiri dari 9 kombinasi paket pupuk dengan 3 tingkat dosis N : 40, 60, dan 80 kg N/ha dan 3 tingkat dosis K : 19, 60,5 dan 102 kg K2O/ha, dengan kontrol paket pemupukan petani. Separuh dosis N sesuai perlakuan diberikan pada tanaman berumur 7 HST, sedangkan sisanya diaplikasikan saat tanaman berumur 21 HST. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produksi dan mutu tembakau madura varietas Prancak-95 meningkat bila dosis pupuk N dan K ditingkatkan. Dosis pupuk NPK untuk tembakau madura Prancak-95 adalah 60 kg N + 45 kg P2O5 + 102 kg K2O + 5 ton pupuk kandang per hektar. Paket pupuk tersebut dapat menghasilkan tembakau rajangan kering 1.168 kg/ha dengan nilai indeks tanaman 110,1.Kata kunci: Nicotiana tabacum L., pupuk NPK, tembakau madura

Abstract

Tobacco Generally farmers in Lombok apply single fertilizer of ZA or Urea (as a source of N), and SP36 (as source of P), without combining with K and Mg fertilizers. The fertilizers are added more than twice with unappropriates doses. Application of compound fertilizer might increase growth, yield and quality of Virginia fc tobacco at Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province, because the fertilizer consists of NPK macro nutrients which have important role for tobacco. The experiment was carried out at Kopang Rembiga village, Kopang District in 2014. The objective to was identify the effect of NPKMg compound fertilizer on growth, yield and quality of Virginia tobacco. Split Plot Design with three replicates was used to arrange treatments. Three varieties of Virginia tobacco (Coker 176, Coker 319 and NC 297) were set as main plots, and three rates of NPKMg fertilizer (60, 80 and 100 kg N/ha) were arranged as sub plots. Results showed that increasing of NPKMg fertilizer up to 100 kg N/ha increased growth, yield and quality of three varieties of Virginia tobacco. Addition of 100 kg N/ha NPKMg (100 kg N+ 60 kg P2O5 + 133 kg K2O + 13.34 kg MgO per hectare) gave the highest values of grade index and crop index of three varieties, thus the fertilizer could be recommended for Virginia tobacco in Lombok.
