Abstract

Perennial Philosophy (Philosophy Perennis) is the most monumental work of Seyyed Hossein Nasr's thought, and with that thought he succeeded in bringing together the religion of Islam, philosophy and Science which he said would remain forever. As a universal religion Islam is a continuation of the religions that have been revealed to the apostles, starting Adam a.s. arrived at the Prophet Muhammad. the whole religion is called al-Islam, which in essence is a total surrender to God.Even so according to Nasr, even though Islam and western religions and traditions have equality in several respects, Muslims must not take Western values and views for granted. There must be cech and balance, there must be criticism and auto criticism regarding Western ontology, especially dealing with modern science. The importance of criticizing the basis of modern science ontology, according to Nasr, is because ontology is the most fundamental part of the development of science.Keyword : Religion, Philosophy Perennis, and Seyyed Hossein Nasr

Abstract

Political dynasties refer to conditions in which leaders seek to place their family members, relatives, and close relatives in important positions with the aim of establishing a political power within the government structure, both at the national and regional levels. In which, Jokowi's political dynasty has become a quite popular discussion that has developed to date due to the involvement of several members of his family who have direct family ties or relationships with Jokowi. The purpose of this study is to find out how the perception of students of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Studies of UIN Sumatera Utara towards Jokowi's political dynasty and what factors caused the emergence of Jokowi's political dynasty according to the student. This research is a qualitative research that is descriptive with an approach that includes political, historical, and phenomenological aspects. The data collection techniques used in this study are interviews and documentation. The results of this study show that there are two perceptions produced by students of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Studies towards Jokowi's political dynasty, namely a positive perception that acknowledges the existence of Jokowi's political dynasty and a negative perception that rejects the involvement of the Jokowi family in the political realm as a practice of political dynasties. The factors for the emergence of Jokowi's political dynasty are divided into internal factors and external factors. These internal factors include Jokowi's popularity and ambition. Meanwhile, the external factors are a paternalistic culture, support from political parties, media influence, and lastly, the lack of strict regulations that talk about and limit the practice of political dynasties.

Abstract

Regional elections are a crucial component of Indonesia’s democratic system, allowing citizens to choose local leaders and influence regional policies. However, the integrity of these elections often faces challenges from electoral fraud, such as vote buying, digital misinformation, and weak regulatory frameworks. This study aims to analyze the role of the Medan City Election Supervisory Committee in minimizing electoral fraud during the 2024 Pilkada. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research explores the effectiveness of Bawaslu’s supervision strategies and the obstacles encountered in ensuring fair and transparent elections. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and analysis of official documents. The findings reveal that although Bawaslu has made significant efforts in voter education and inter-agency coordination, several challenges persist, including limited human resources, low digital literacy among voters, and insufficient legal provisions to address digital campaign violations. The study also highlights the importance of public participation and collaboration with civil society in strengthening electoral supervision. Furthermore, the integration of technology such as AI and data analytics is recommended to enhance Bawaslu’s monitoring capacity. This research provides practical insights and recommendations for improving electoral oversight mechanisms and promoting democratic integrity in local elections, particularly in the digital era. It is hoped that this study can contribute to more credible and inclusive democratic practices in Indonesia.
