Abstract

Aim of the research was to determine of medicinal plants and their utilization of sekabuk village Sadaniang sub district Pontianak regency. Method of the research is descriptive with interview technical , and data was analyzed to obtain plants species, families, parts used, method of processing, form of the herb, dosage, method of use and type of disease that can be treated. The results showed that were 51 species and 37 families of medicinal plants used. From 51 species of medicinal plants 17 species (33.33%) is trees, 41 species (80.39%) is single plants , 22 species (43.14%) used is leaf 25 species (49.02%) used by boiling, 23 species (45.10%) used by drink and 29 species (56.86%) used to treatment of inter diseases. Abstract

Variance in water contains and weight of wood are influenced by several factors including the drying temperature and the type of wood. This study was conducted to determine the effect of drying temperature and the type of wood on the dimensionstability. Design factorial in completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors which are the temperature drying of wood (500C, 700C, 900C, 1100C) and the type of wood (Lagerstroemia speciosa Pers and Dracontomelon mangiferum BI). The results showed that the drying temperature and the type of wood give significant effect and highly significan on the dimensional stability of wood. All treatment drying temperature on the wood Lagerstroemia speciosa Persshowed good dimensional stability values with the ratio of T / R is greater than 1, wherein the drying temperature of 1100C showed the ratio of T / R from the bottom at 1,02.After air dry, then the stability of the value dimensions is catagorized to in good category with the lowest ratio of T / R from Lagerstroemia speciosa Pers wood and Dracontomelon mangiferum BIwood arround temperature 1100C with a value of 1,11. Lagerstroemia speciosa Pers wood moisture content in the tangential area with drying temperature 1100C the lowest, value is 3,5529 %. But in general all treatment for drying temperature has shown the value of water content below 17 % which is at equilibrium moisture content between 12 % - 20%. The highest Wood density values for Lagerstroemia speciosa Persis 0,6925 gr/cm3,while for Dracontomelon mangiferum BI timber the highest value is 0,7101 gr/cm3. Abstract

Benuang (Octomeles sumatrana Miq) wood less attractive to industrial carpentry, because of Benuang wood has a low at strength level (strength class IV - V). Densification of wood is one solution, which is the timber compaction process that aims to improve the strength and durability of the wood. There are two factors for treatment in this study that include temperature factors felts (1700C, 1800C and 1900C) and Time Felts (50 minutes and 60 minutes). Samples made ??of from Benuang with wood measuring 30 cm (L) x 8 cm (W) x 4 cm (H), then steamed in an autoclave and hot pressed (hot press) with a target thickness of 30% and the pressure felt by 60 kg/cm2. Then created a test sample for testing. The parameters measured are physical properties (color and touch wood impression, moisture content, density and dimensional changes) and mechanical properties (static bending persistence / Modulus of Elasticity, strength of bending fracture / Modulus of Rupture, and firmness press parallel fiber / Cruishing Maximum Strength). The design that used in this study is a 3x2 factorial experimental design in a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 replications. Results showed that the densification process on wood Benuang generally not been able to increase the strength of the timber, that is still in the same class with the timber control (strenght class IV-V). But partially strength there is still best value that on the showed densification timber with temperature 1800C with clamp time for 60 minutes, with decrease in water content of 43.12%, increase in value density of 27,22%, dimensional change impairment of 7,57%, MOE impairment of 71,61%, MOR values ??decrease by 61,93% and MCS impairment of 18,41%.
