Abstract

The 21st century education requires graduates who are broad-minded and have literacy. New literacy skills are needed by students to face the challenges of the 21st century. Science learning in the 2013 curriculum is carried out in an integrated manner. But the facts on the ground showed that science learning has not been implemented well, the unavailability of integrated science teaching materials, and student learning outcomes were still low. The solution to overcome this problem was to develop new literacy science integrated learning material. This study aims to determine the validity and practicality of using new integrated literacy science learning material. This type of research was Research and Development. The object of research was integrated science learning material for new literacy themes of motion in life. The data source were the result of the validity and practicality test. The instruments used were validation questionnaire sheets and practicality questionnaire sheets. The results show that the new integrated literacy science teaching materials are valid with a value of 79.65 and the use of new integrated literacy science teaching materials is very practical according to teachers and students with grades of 86.39 and 83.44, respectively.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Science learning material must be implemented in an integrated pattern according to curriculum 2013, but it still done separately such as chimistry biology and physics. To overcome this problem was developing of thematic science teaching materials integrated with new literacy. Where the concept that include to development research was: Using Energy in Daily Life. The goal of this study is to determine the validity and practicality of thematic science teaching materials. The instrument that used is questionnaire about the validity and practicality of product at administrated to Expert in field of this study. There are four Lecturers in field of Science Education and one from Physics Education. While practicality testing was carried out by 2 Science Teachers and 32 Junior High School Students. The technique of analysis data was descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the data analysis, the validity and practicality values of the product with an average validity of 85.77 while the average practicality according to the teacher and students are 96.50 and 88.26. So it can be concluded that the thematic science teaching materials integrated in new literacy are valid and practical for grade VII junior high school students.

Abstract

This article base on the topic of research Development of Problem Based Learning modules on Additives and Addictive Substances for Grade 8th Junior High School the aims of the research is problem-based learning modules that can help students increase their interest in learning and learning independently in understanding additives and addictive substances, as well as investigating the validity of the type of research used is research and development or Research and Development by using ploomp development model consisting of three stages, namely preliminary research, prototiyng stage, and assessment phase. Research instruments used questionnaires (validity sheets) and one to one evaluation for learners. The module was validated by 3 validators from FMIPA UNP science education lecturers, this research was limited to one to one evaluation. The results of this study obtained a validity value of 70.31% with a valid category. Validity test on content feasibility aspect obtained a value of 81.25% with a very valid category, the linguistic aspect obtained a value of 58.33% with a fairly valid, the presentation aspect obtained a value of 66.67% with a valid category, and the aspect of chart obtained a value of 75.00% with a valid category. Thus, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning module based on additives and addictive substances developed meets valid criteria.

Abstract

The education system is required to be able to follow the development of science and technology to prepare a generation that is ready to deal with the challenges of this era. The current curriculum is curriculum 2013. In curriculum 2013 students are required to be active and able to learn independently. The procurement of teaching materials at SMP Negeri 7 Padang is considered not to be able to support independent learning, especially during this online learning period. This study aims to produce science e-module for SMP/MTs based on a contextual approach on work and simple machines to valid and practical. Type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the Plomp model which consists of three stages, namely the preliminary research, the prototyping stage, and the assessment phase. The research subjects were 3 lecturers of Science Education, FMIPA UNP, teachers and students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The instrument used is a questionnaire of validity and practicality. The research data is processed using the kappa moment formula. Based on the results of data analysis, the results of the validity test, the results of the practicality test based on the teacher's response, and the practicality test based on the student's responses were 0.85, 0.87, and 0.83 with very high category. It can be concluded that the e-module for SMP/MTs based on a contextual approach on work and simple machines has been valid and practical for use in class VIII SMP/MTs.
