Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The main instrument in this study was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing instrument and camera. The data were collected through interviews, literature study, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted by identifying the data, classifying the data, describing the data, and making conclusions. The results show that the learning process for the musical ensemble at SMP Negeri 29 Padang consists of group division, coinciding, selection of musical instruments, and learning of each music / instrument. The music ensemble learning activities are divided into three stages: preparation, practice / process, and evaluation. In the preparation stage, the teacher prepares the teaching document and  subject matter while the students prepare musical instruments. In the practice / process stage, the teacher gives apperception in reminding about the meaning of musical ensembles and types of musical instruments, introducing songs to be played, and providing musical scores as well as techniques for playing recorder and pianica. In the evaluation stage, the teacher assesses, reviews, and sees the success and development of students towards learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the piano learning methodsare used in Purwacara Music Studio Padang. It is seen in terms of objective, material, method, and evaluation. This research used a Qualitative approach which produced descriptive data about Piano Instruction in Purwacara Music Studio Padang.T he data were collected through observation, interview, documentation, and interactive data analysis consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the piano learning process in Purwacara Music Studio is in accordance with the determined curriculum whose learning objective is students are able to play piano in right fingeringand sitting attitude. In the learning process, the methods implemented are lecture method, questions and answers, demonstration, drill, and assignment. Meanwhile, thelearning materialsare divided into two materials: music theory and music practice. In addition, evaluation is always held in every course meeting, and final evaluation as well as a test for improvement levelis held every 6 months. To get  more tangible and use fulbenefits, based onthe results of research and discussion about piano instruction in Purwacara Music Studio, forming a special team for designing piano learning materials in an guidebook is a suggestion the writer gives. This is due to the fact that available materials are not neatly arranged in a guidebook. Thus, the existence of the arranged materials in a guidebook can further enhance the process of learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe online instruction of Culture and Arts especially in Music subject matter in class VII.5 at SMP Negeri 17 Padang. This is a qualitative research using a descriptive analytic approach. The research instrument used was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing tools, cameras, and cellphones. The data were collected through literature study, interviews, and documentation.Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation ofonline instructionin the subject matter of simple musical instruments in class VII.5 at SMP Negeri 17 Padang is using the Whatsapp Group media recommended by the Principal of SMP Negeri 17 Padang. This is a way to deal with online learning so that learning activities can be continued even though it is conducted in distance. The planning step for learning simple musical instrument is not optimally conducteddue to the fact that the teacher does not create lesson plans for online instruction.The implementation of online learning in the subject matter of simple musical instrumentcontinues to run smoothly even though the learning process faces various obstacles. The learning outcomes of Culture and Arts for grade VIIin the subject matter of simple musical instruments are less effective and less optimal. This is due to the fact that learning activities conducted do not pay attention to standards of preparing online learning materials.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the Gandang Sarunai music inheritance system in the community of Nagari Luak Kapau, Alam Pauh Duo, Solok Selatan Regency. This research is qualitative research which aims to get things related to the topic. The data related to the topic were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation technique.The results show that the Gandang Sarunai music inheritance system in Nagari Luak Kapau was inherited by using an open system. This inheritance is done in colleges or studios. The heirs must be the ones who have desire, talent, and interest to learn the music of Gandang Sarunai. This open inheritance system in Nagari Luak Kapau also uses several requirements so that the heirs are able to learn and inherit traditional music from the Gandang Sarunai. In addition, the Inheritance System of traditional music gandang sarunai in Nagari Luak Kapau, Pauh Duo district, Solok Selatan Regency, was inherited through enculturation. It is where humans are considered as beings that have logical reasoning, have the power of reflection and intelligence, as well as learn to understand and adapt the mindset, knowledge, and culture of another group of humans.
