Abstract

Wan Abdul Rachman Forest Park (Tahura WAR) is one of the forest areas in Lampung Province. Tahura WAR has a fairly high diversity of flora, one of which is the bamboo plant. There is not much data related to the diversity of bamboo plant species found in Tahura WAR, especially in the Utilization Block. As an effort to develop the potential of bamboo, it is necessary to conduct research on the diversity of types and distribution patterns of bamboo plants. The purpose of this study was to analyze the diversity of bamboo plants and their distribution patterns in the Tahura WAR Utilization Block. This research was conducted in May 2020 in the Tahura WAR Utilization Block, using the river transect method along the 720 m length and 4 m width. The results showed that there were four types of bamboo plants in the Tahura WAR Utilization Block, namely Gombong bamboo (Gigantochloa pseudoarundinaceae) and Tali bamboo (Gigantochloa apus), Ater Batu bamboo (Gigantochloa atter) and Betung bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper. These four species showed a level of diversity bamboo plants that are categorized as low and the distribution pattern is random.

Abstract

Ismail et al, 2017. Responses of Kemiri Sunan Germination to Scarification at Various Submersion Time in Sulfuric Acid. JLSO 6(1):71-77.The duration of submersion and the level of acid concentration which are the decisive factors to succed the chemical scarification. The duration of submersion should be adjusted to the level of seed skin thickness, the level of acid concentration and the type of acid used. This study aimed to analyze the inmersion effect of kemiri sunan seeds in sulfuric acid solution to break the seed dormancy and to get the most effective time of submersion in order to break the dormancy of kemiri sunan seed. The experiment was conducted in the greenhouse for 2 months (62 days). The randomized complete design was employed as experimental method. There were 4 treament tested, i.e : (1) control (without immersion in H2SO4 solution); (2) immersion in H2SO4 solution for 10 minutes; (3) immersion in H2SO4 solution for 20 minutes and (4) immersion in H2SO4 solution for 30 minutes. The results of research showed that control gave the best results in term of the percentage of germination (G), mean daily gremination (MDG), and germination rate (GR).

Abstract

Agroforestry system is an optimal and sustainable land use system by combining forestry plants and agricultural crops on the same land management unit. Agroforestry consists of simple agroforestry and complex agroforestry (agroforest). Agroforest in Sumberejo subdistrict Tanggamus district cultivate certain types of plants, especially nutmeg. Nutmeg plants combined with agricultural crops and other forestry plants. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research aimed at: 1) know the types of plants that make up the nutmeg agroforest vegetation; 2) determine the density of each type of plant composing the nutmeg agroforest vegetation; 3) know the structure of nutmeg agroforest in the Sumberejo district of Tanggamus. The study was conducted in Sumberejo of Tanggamus Lampung in Februari – March 2019. Sampling plot was done by census of the entire farmer population. The population consists of farmers who have their own community forest land with a minimum area of 0,25 ha. Data collection method was done by double plot method. The results showed that the nutmeg agroforestry constituent plants in Sumberejo of Tanggamus regency consisted of 42 species of plants that were included in 35 families. Nutmeg density of the tree phase reaches 60,5 individuals/ha. The structure was formed of 3 stratifications, they are strata C, D, and E.
