Abstract

Currently there are many companies that do to handling of sugar cane litter by burning. Burninf will affect the quality of land. Litter by scattering the land will restore the nutrients into the soil. This study aims is to find out the comparison of the influence of litter applications burned and litter scattered. The study was conducted at Cinta Manis District of PTPN VII in April to June 2017. Secondary data such as plant growth and soil on treated litter treatment were obtained from Cinta Manis District Company. The soil data of litter treatment was scattered in the analysis at Chem-Mix Pratama Yogyakarta Laboratory in July 2017. The data analysis using T-Test by comparing between the two comparable values effect of the litter treatment was burnt and the litter treatment scattered to the soil and plant. The result of the analysis of variance showed no significant difference between the treatment on the parameters of stem size, stem height, stem diameter, stem weight, and cane productivity. The littered treatment of litter gave higher yield on the parameters of stem height, stem diameter, stem weight, and sugarcane productivity, compared to the treatment of litter burned. Abstract

Sugarcane in Indonesia are very important economically because they were the main raw material for the sugar industry. To meet sugar needs, efforts are needed to intensify and extensify sugarcane cultivation, ensuring high productivity and yield. One of the expansions of sugarcane fields in Yogyakarta is fields with sandy soil. The planting system is an intensification effort, both with single rows and double rows, where each system has a different impact. This research aims to analyze the impact of sugarcane planting (single-row and double-row planting systems) on soil conditions and sugarcane yields on sandy land. This research used a one-factor Randomized Block Design (RAK) with two levels of treatment, namely single-row and double-row systems. Each level was repeated 6 times in blocks, with the land area of ​​one block being 50m2, so the total land area used for research was 300 m2. The analysis was carried out when the plants were 6 months old, by taking samples of 5 plants in each experimental unit and analyzing the Brix percentage, pol percentage, purity value, sap value, and yield. Soil samples were taken from a depth of 10-30 cm from each experimental unit and analyzed for moisture content, organic matter, soil pH, cation exchange capacity (CEC), available nitrogen, available phosphorus, and available potassium. The data obtained was then analyzed using a T-test at a 5% level and correlation analysis using SPSS. The planting system did not have a significant effect on organic C, pH, CEC, available nitrogen, available phosphorus, and available potassium of the soil. Single-row sugarcane planting provides higher and significantly different poll%, sap value, and sugarcane yield compared to double-row planting. There was a strong correlation between soil organic matter and the sugarcane yield content obtained (r=0.52). Maintaining soil organic matter is an alternative to maintain and increase the yield and yield of sugar cane plants.

Abstract

Pemerintah menargetkan untuk peningkatan gula nasional adalah dengan cara perluasan areal tebu di Indonesia. Pencarian lahan baru sebagai usaha perluasan areal tebu harus diteliti sumberdaya lahannya agar berproduksi secara berkelanjutan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengidentifikasi kelas kesesuaian lahan secara spesifik bagi tanaman tebu di Desa Wedomartani agar dapat memberikan saran sesuai dengan hasil analisis kesesuaian lahan untuk pengelolaan lahan yang tepat. Penelitian ini dilakukan di bulan Juni-Juli 2023 di Desa Wedomartani dan Laboratorium Tanah dan Nutrisi Tanaman Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada tiga titik lokasi di desa tersebut dengan menggunakan metode random sampling. Penentuan lokasi penelitian atau SPL didasarkan pada lahan yang ditanami tebu di Desa Wedomartani. Parameter yang diamati antara lain kondisi iklim, drainase, tekstur tanah, kedalaman tanah efektif, Kapasitas Tukar Kation (KTK), pH tanah, C-Organik, N Total, P Tersedia, K Tersedia, kemiringan lereng, bahaya erosi dan banjir serta volume singkapan batuan dan batuan permukaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kondisi lahan di Wedomartani untuk kesesuaian lahan tanaman tebu yaitu S3rc dan S3na yang mempunyai faktor pembatas berupa tekstur tanah dan kurangnya P Tersedia. Perbaikan yang dapat dilakukan yaitu penambahan pupuk organik dan pupuk anorganik yang mempunyai unsur hara P.
