Abstract

This paper aims to explain the motives of education in Archipelago (Indonesia) since prehistory until the contemporary period. Whether the motives of education in archipelago have changes every period? Or it just shows the continuity? The author attempt to look this phenomenon on historical perspective with peruses some literature such as books, articles, archives and online magazine. This paper finds out that the motive of education in Archipelago has been changed from the prehistory period until the colonial period (from practice to economic motive). Since colonial to the contemporary period we can find the continuity about the motive, that is the economic motives to produce a worker. Abstract

This study examines transmigration and the development of transmigrant areas. The study focuses on transmigration organized by the government and self-help as well as the development of transmigrant areas. The purpose of this study is to see how much influence and impact transmigration has on regional developments in transmigrant areas. This research uses historical method consisting of source collection, source criticism, interpretation and writing of historiography. The results of this study indicate that transmigration affects the development of migrant areas such as land conversion, deforestation, infrastructure development, employment, agriculture. As for other influences in the form of flood disasters that occur due to drainage reservoirs not being able to accommodate properly and the loss of green areas.Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang transmigrasi dan perkembangan kawasan transmigran. Fokus dalam pengkajian ini ialah transmigrasi yang diselenggarakan pemerintah dan swakarsa serta perkembangan kawasan transmigran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah melihat seberapa besar pengaruh dan dampak transmigrasi terhadap perkembangan kawasan di wilayah transmigran. Metode yang digunakan ialah metode penelitan sejarah yang terdiri dari pengumpulan sumber, kritik sumber, intepretasi dan penulisanhistoriografi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa transmigrasi mempengaruhi perkembangan kawasan migran seperti deforestasi, penjualan satwa, pembangunan infrastruktur, fluktuasi curah hujan, pertanian dan pergantian lapangan pekerjaan. Adapun pengaruh lain berupa terjadinya bencana banjir yang terjadi akibat tampungan drainase tidak dapat menampung dengan baik dan hilangnya area hijau.
