Abstract

The research has been conducted at rainfield lowland of non tidal swamp in Kecamatan Rambutan Kabupaten Banyuasin in March to May 2014. Objection of research was to find the treatment for seed of rice before planting with application of Zn and nitrogen fertilizer. This factorial experiment was set by randomized block design with three replications. First factor was 6 rice varieties, second factor is two levels of Zn treatment (0 mM and 5,0 mM), and third factor is two level of N fertilizer (30 and 60 kg/ha). The 15-day seedlings, were submerged for 5 days. The parameters, dry weight of seedling, carbohydrate of stem, and chlorophyll of leaf, were measured on 10 days after submergence treatment. Carbohydrate and chlorophyll was measured according to the methode of Yoshida et al. (1976). Result of research showed that application of Zn and N increased dry weight, carbohydrate, and chlorophyll of seedling. Therefore rice seedling will be more tolerant in submergence stress.

Abstract

Duku germplasm source is South East Asia. Duku trees are mostly cultivated in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. Duku have been known by Indonesian community more than hundred years ago. Duku trees grown almost in all over provinces. There are an indication of increasing duku consumption among the society. In contrary, duku trees are still undercultivated. Mostly, duku trees are traditionally planted and existing trees are relatively old. Duku growers hardly apply good agricultural practices on their duku trees. Sometimes, harvesting time is shifted due to climate change, ie rainy season. In marketing duku fruits, growers have low bargaining position. In order to develop duku production and good marketing system, aiming to raise growers income, comprehensive-integrated long term research and development program should be done. The ultimate goal of the program should be included, production of high quality duku seedlings, development of cultivation methods (Good Agricultural Practices), development of harvest/postharvest technology (Good Handling Practices), and development of duku agribusinesssystem (SCM).

Abstract

The role of nitrogen, phosphor and potassium distribution to all the plant tissue. so as to growth promoted the main crop high potential rice ratoon. The objective this research evaluated vegetative growth and productionof rice ratoon national varieties with nitrogen, phosphor, and potassium fertilizer. Using split plot design with three replicate. Varieties (G) main plot (G1: inpari 6, G2: inpari 10 and G3: inpari 29). Fertilizer (P)sub plot (P1= Urea 250 kg ha-1, TSP 100 kg ha-1 and KCl 50 kg ha-1. P2= Urea 300 kg ha-1, TSP 150 kg ha-1and KCl 100 kg ha-1. P3= Urea 300 kg ha-1, TSP 200 kg ha-1 and KCl 150 kg ha-1). The result show that inpari 29 significant in growth and production. The fertilizer treatment of Urea 300 kg ha-1, TSP 150 kg ha-1and KCl 100 kg ha-1 beter forvegetative growth and production. The combine of inpari 29 and 300 kg ha-1, TSP 150 kg ha-1 and KCl 100 kg ha-1 have high production.
