Abstract

Bintaro or known by botanist as Cerbera manghas is a semi mangrove plant which seed oil content could potentially be used as biofuels or renewable resources. Bintaro is known as a plant associated with mycorrhizal fungi / AMF. This research aimed to find out associated arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi with bintaro grown in unnatural conditions. Surrounding soil and root of 15 bintaro around UNTAN area were taken as samples. There were 2 types of soil, the alluvial soil (bintaro sapling and trees) and peat (bintaro seedling). There were 4373 spores from all soil samples, in alluvial soil were found 248 spores / 100 g soil, and in peat there were 378 spores / 100 g soil. Totally there were 10 genus of Glomus and 2 genus of Scutellospora found around bintaro plant in the two types of soil. The average of AMF infection was low. Key word : Bintaro, FMA, Mycorrhiza, Unnatural condition.

Abstract

Agarwood’s is a product of non timber forest products in the form of lumps, flakes or powder have a distinctive fragrance aroma emanates from the womb chemicals of gubal. The benefits of Aloe for deodorizers, room, body cosmetics, medicines and simple. The stands are agarwood (Aquilaria malaccensis Lamk) in natural forests declined due to logging is done in vain, so type A.malaccensis entered in Appendik II of CITES (Convention On International Trade In Endangered Species). To support the efforts of the conservation and sustainability of production, as well as anticipate the development of value to the market and demand continues to increase, the need to perform planting and cultivation. But this time, high-quality agarwood trees not yet available so that required good quality seeds. Seeds like this can be obtained by using seeds from the tree stem through the process of glorification (test line). One that could serve as the seed-producing trees, the forest is the agarwood (Aquilaria malaccensis) contained in Demplot Forestry District Office of Ketapang. But to point the tree seed producer, should begin by doing a test descent. The problem to date, yet gleaned information genetic properties of the agarwood tree. So that needs to be done heritabilitas/test type a. ardesiacus in Demplot Forestry District Office of Ketapang. This research aims to know the: (1) genetic variation of tree diameter and height added a. ardesiacus; (2) the value of the heritabilitas family on the character height and diameter of plant; (3) genetic traits observed among all the test of a. ardesiacus. The results of the study, expected to be material to obtain tree seed-producing qualified as a superior especially in order planting Aloes in the future. This research uses experimental methods in the form of factorial with Randomised Complete Block Desing then with Deuteronomy as much as 5 blocks and each block consists of 10 families, with 5 number of trees exist, so treeplot 250. The results showed the plant A.malaccensis aged 4 years in demplot showed variation in the nature of plant height and diameter. Variation characteristics of high properties and properties/diameter of the plant is affected by genetic factors as high as estimates the value of heritabilitas to the nature of the height and diameter of the value above 0.8. Based on those results, the selection may be made at Demplot Department of Forestry to locate seeds as a source tree plus with the desired properties criteria. The genetic correlation between height and diameter of the plants shown through analysis of correlation regression, show a positive. The positive correlation show that every high added value added is always followed by the diameter of the plant. Keyword : Test of heritability, A.malaccensis.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the structure and composition of the vegetation in the area of permanent sample plots (PSPs) PT. Kawedar Kapuas Hulu. The benefit of this study is expected to be a reference in the PUP area management efforts in the future. The research was conducted in the area of permanent sample plots (PSPs) PT. Kawedar Wood Industry Kapuas Hulu for 4-week study effectively in the field. The method in this study is a terraced-line method which is a combination of to track and double plot, which placed intentionally (purposive sampling). Transect made of four (4) lanes in the direction of the wind, which is the aspect of the East, West, South, and North, with the width of each lane 20 meters long and ± 500. The results of the research are 48 species that include: 36 species of trees with 745 individuals, 37 species of poles with 904 individuals, 29 species of saplings with 1.266 individuals, 30 species of seedlings with 1.960 individuals. Diversity of trees (H ̅) 1.2604, poles (H ̅) 1.1537, saplings (H ̅) 1.2094 and seedling (H ̅) 1.3141. This suggests that the species diversity index value stands at PUP area. PT. Kawedar Wood Industry is the diversity of the medium, which ranged from 1.5 to 3.5. Keyword: Structure and composition, permanent sample plots, vegetation

Abstract

Agroforestry area in the village of Nanga Kalan Ella Hilir Subdistrict Melawi District is an area that is developed from the forest service, these areas are interspersed rubber plant aloes, sengon and mahoni. Gaharu is one of the priority plant because it has a short cycle, does not have a requirement to grow the and have high production values high. Purpose this study to determine the level of damage caused by insects aloe plant and identify the type of insect aloe plant in the village of Nanga Kalan agroforestry area. The results were obtained insect pests that attack plants, consisting of the 4 order Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Hemitera, with the 5 Family Lymantriidae, Chrysomeliae, Acrididae, Pentatomidae, Alydidae and 5 Genus is Euproctis, Aulacophora, Valanga, Heteroptera, Leptocorisa. The types of insect pests which attack plants such as aloes : caterpillar fur (Lymantriidae), leaf beetles (Phaedonia inclusa), locust wood (Valanga nigricornis zehnleri), ladybugs plants (Anasa tristis Deger), walang rice pest (Leptocorisa oratorius) . As  much as 71 rods aloe plant attacked by insect pests of 150 stems of plants were observed, with the percentage of insect pests in the aloe plant is 47.33%, moderate damage category. Damaged parts of the plant are the leaves and the leaves are perforated bud from top to bottom, bite at the edge of the leaf up to the middle, wrinkled leaves and roll, half the leaves disappear and leaves no living bone.
