Abstract

In constructing correct passive voice, students need to master grammar. In this case, learning passive voice always creates errors. The objectives of this research were to know the types of Passive Voice that taught in SMK Pasundan 1 kotaSerang ateleventhgrade and to find out the causes of errors made by the student’s Writing Passive Voice especially Simple Past Tense. The subjects of this research consisted of 15 students at eleventh grades of SMK Pasundan 1 Kota Serang. The method of this research was Qualitative by using Case Study Method. To collect the data the writer used test as an instrument, while the writer was analyzed errors of the students it is based on the Surface Strategy Taxonomy. The results of this research are Misformation errors consisted 41 errors or 58,57 %, followed by Omission errors consisted 23 errors or 32,58 %, Misordering error consisted 5 errors or 7,14 % and Addition error consisted 1 errors or 1,43 %. Based on the result of the research the dominant errors was Misformation consisted 58,57%. The conclusion of this research was this research related to a cause error made by the students and one of the cause was less understanding about grammar especially Simple Past Tense.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas Situs Web Kamus Cambridge sebagai media pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan pelafalan siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi-eksperimental (non-equivalent design) yang melibatkan siswa kelas X di SMKN 3 Kota Serang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah "purposive sampling," dengan kelas X TKJ 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X TKJ 1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen pra-tes dan pasca-tes digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data, yang dianalisis menggunakan IBM SPSS versi 29.0.1.0 (171). Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa ada efektivitas dalam penggunaan Situs Web Kamus Cambridge untuk meningkatkan pelafalan siswa, sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan yang signifikan dalam hasil pra-tes dan pasca-tes kelas eksperimen berdasarkan kriteria prestasi siswa. Selain itu, uji sampel berpasangan, yang menunjukkan nilai-p dua sisi < 0,001. Hasil ini mengkonfirmasi penerimaan hipotesis alternatif (Ha), yang menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan di kelas eksperimen antara nilai rata-rata pra-tes dan pasca-tes. Sebaliknya, uji sampel independen untuk pra-uji menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,31, yang mengarah pada penerimaan hipotesis nol (H0), yang menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan signifikan dalam nilai rata-rata pra-uji antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Namun, hasil pasca-uji menunjukkan nilai signifikansi < 0,01, yang mendukung penerimaan hipotesis alternatif (Ha) dan menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan dalam nilai rata-rata pasca-uji antara kedua kelas.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the significant difference score of using STAD model to improve students writing ability of exposition text and to describe the students writing ability after using STAD model. This research used quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach. This research subjects consisted of 11th grade students at Daar Al Ilmi Islamic Boarding School with divided into two groups: 11 IPA 2 as experimental consisting 29 students used STAD model and 11 IPS 2 as control consisting 22 students used conventional model. Data were collected through writing test design to measure students ability before and after treatment. Data analysis was conducted using t-test. The results showed that there is significant different score to improvement students writing ability between two groups. The mean post-test score in the control class was 77.82, while in the experimental class it was 80.55. Data analysis showed a significance value (t-test) of 0.002 ≤ 0.05, these results show that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which indicates a significant difference between the two groups. Thus, it can concluded that STAD model has been proven to be effective in the writing ability. The use of this model not only improve writing ability, but also active in discussing with their friends, can increase their enthusiasm and interest in the learning process.
