Abstract

Dilatarbelakangi kondisi petani  di pedesaan yang pendapatannya rendah dan  umumnya petani mempunyai usaha sampingan yaitu beternak. Beternak yang erat kaitannya dengan kehidupan petani adalah beternak itik. Di desa Pegalongan kecamatan Patikraja terdapat Kelompok tani ternak itik (KTTI) yang masih aktif,  yaitu KTTI “Unggas Jaya”.  Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh kelompok mitra adalah pengadaan bibit, harga pakan, performan itik, harga jual telur dan itik afkir rendah,  Solusinya menggunakan daun sukun fermentasi yang berpotensi sebagai bahan pakan itik berkualitas, karena murah, mudah didapat, mengandung vitamin E,C dan A, mineral, antioksidan dan senyawa aktif  lain yang bermanfaat bagi kesehatan tubuh ternak itik. Antioksidannya dapat meningkatkan performan, kesehatan, kualitas produk sehingga aman dan berkualitas. Metode untuk memecahkan masalah di kelompok mitra melalui alih tehnologi, praktek (IB, penetasan, fermentasi, pengolahan dan pengemasan produk), evaluasi, pendampingan dan pengkaderan. Target luaran adalah produk, artikel ilmiah popular. Hasil dari demo yang sudah dilakukan adalah : pertumbuhan itik lebih baik daripada sebelumnya, itik lebih sehat-sehat, petani sudah mampu melakukan IB,  fertilitas telur hasil IB tinggi yaitu pemeliharaan pejantan lebih dihemat dan peternak dapat menetaskan telur menggunakan mesin tetas.Kata kunci: karkas itik; keamanan pangan; antioksidan; daun sukun, fermentasiAbstractThe background is the low income of farmers in rural areas and side business of farmers is raising livestock. Duck raising was closed with farmer lifes. There are active duck farmer groups (KTTI), namely the "Unggas Jaya" in Pegalongan village, Patikraja sub-district. The problems in farmer group are procurement of day old duck, feed prices, duck performance, low selling prices of eggs and culled ducks. Solution of the problem is using fermented of breadfruit leaf which have the potential as quality duck feed ingredients, because they are cheap, easily obtained, contain vitamins E, C and A , minerals, antioxidants and other active compounds that are beneficial to ducks health. Antioxidants are safe because the performance and ducks health can be improved. Problem solving method in “Unggas Jaya” farmer groups use by technology transfer, practice (Artificial Incemination, operation of hatching machine, fermentation, product processing and packaging), evaluation, mentoring and cadre of participant. Output targets are products and publication of articles in journal. The results of the demonstrations that have been carried out are: duck growth is better than before. The duck is healthier, farmers are able to do IB, high IB fertility eggs are more conserved and farmers can hatch eggs using hatching machine.

Abstract

Background. The research objective was to assess The Addition of an Acidifier in Feed Containing Probiotics of Egg Index and Egg Mass of Sentul Chickens. Materials and Methods. The material used was 60 female sentul chickens aged 5 months, with 4 treatments, 5 repetitions, and each experimental unit consists of 3 chicken. Treatment: R0 = basal feed; R1 = basal feed + probiotic with lactic acid acidifier 0.5%; R2 = basal feed + probiotic with lactic acid acidifier 1.0%; R3 = basal feed + probiotic with lactic acid acidifier 1.5%. Design with CRD (completely randomized design) and data analysis using ANOVA. Results. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on egg index and egg mass of Sentul chicken. Conclusion. It was concluded that the addition of lactic acid as an acidifier in feed containing probiotics up to a level 1,5% was not able to improve the quality of egg index and egg mass of Sentul chickens.

Abstract

Background. The study entitled "The effect of in Type and Density of Cages on egg production and Weight of Commercial Laying Hens" was to determine the effect of floor type and density on egg production of laying hens. and determine the effect of floor type and density on egg weight of laying hens. Materials and Methods. The material used in this study was 120 female Isa Brown laying hens aged 18 weeks and weighing about 1.5 kg. Each treatment unit consisted of 40 slat cages, the slat floor contained 20 laying commercial chickens and 1 commercial laying hens, 20 layers and 40 litter cages, the litter floor contained 20 laying commercial chickens and filled with 1 commercial chicken laying plots of 20 plots with each size of 40x50x30 . This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) method with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments included (Litter floor with a density of 2 tail), (Littery floor with a density of 1 tail), (Slat floor with a density of 2 tail) and (Slat floor with a density of 1 tail). Results. The results showed that the average egg production in treatments P1, P2, P3, P4 respectively were 33.47 ± 1.9959, 32.14 ± 2.1761, 34.63 ± 2.0667 and 37.39± 2.2468 percent. The average egg weights in treatments P1, P2, P3, P4 respectively were 48 ± 5.27870, 49 ± 8.95229, 50 ± 4.31113 and 51 ± 5.73045 weight/grams. Conclusion. It shows that there is no effect of floor type and cage density on egg production.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengkaji strain yang berbeda terhadap Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) dan keuntungan usaha ayam broiler. Penelitian dilaksanakan di peternakan PT. Berkat Unggas Sehat Sejahtera, Sukabumi. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei historis yaitu meneliti catatan produksi sesuai variabel yang diteliti. Variabel yang diamati adalah strain ayam, FCR dan keuntungan usaha. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriftif dan uji t. Strain ayam broiler yaitu Cobb dan Ross dipelihara pada kandang close house. Populasi pada masing-masing strain 12.000 ekor dan dipelihara selama 28 hari. Hasil penelitian yaitu rata-rata FCR strain Ross 0,93 sedangkan strain Cobb 1,04. Keuntungan yang dihasilkan dari strain Ross sebanyak Rp 12.136.043,00 sedangkan strain Cobb mengalami kerugian sebesar Rp. 17.140.895,00. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa strain berpengaruh terhadap FCR dan keuntungan ayam broiler. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah strain Ross memberikan nilai FCR dan keuntungan yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan strain Cobb.

Abstract

ABSTRAK.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tepung daun sukun (artocarpus altilis) terhadap produksi telur dan kualitas telur puyuh (Coturnix-coturnix japonica). Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah burung puyuh betina umur 2 minggu yang berjumlah 100 ekor. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan penelitian adalah level penambahan tepung daun sukun dalam pakan puyuh yang terdiri atas 4 level, yaitu: S0 (pakan basal tanpa penambahan tepung daun sukun), S1 (pakan basal + 0,5 % tepung daun sukun), S2 (pakan basal + 1 % tepung daun sukun), S3 (pakan basal + 1,5 % tepung daun sukun). Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali, sehingga dibutuhkan 20 petak kandang. Variabel yang diamati adalah produksi telur, bobot telur, ketebalan dan bobot kerabang telur, kadar kolesterol dan protein telur puyuh. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi dan dilanjutkan beda nyata jujur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung daun sukun (Artocarpus altilis) dalam pakan puyuh berpengaruh tidak nyata (P0,05) terhadap produksi telur dan bobot kerabang telur, akan tetapi berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadapbobot telur, ketebalan kerabang, kadar kolesterol dan protein telur Kesimpulan Penambahan tepung daun sukun (Artocarpus altilis) 0,5% dalam pakan puyuh optimal untuk memperbaiki produksi dan kualitas telur puyuh (Coturnix-coturnix japonica).(The effect of breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis) flour on eggs production and eggs quality of japanese quail (Cortunix-cortunix japonica))ABSTRACT. The research purposed was to determine the effect of breadfruit flour (artocarpus altilis) on egg production and quail egg quality (Coturnix-coturnix japonica). The research material used a hundred quail of female 2 weeks of age. The research used experimental method and Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The research treatment was the level of addition of breadfruit flour in quail feed consisting of 4 levels, namely: S0 (basal feed without adding breadfruit flour), S1 (basal feed + 0.5% breadfruit flour), S2 (basal feed + 1 % breadfruit flour), S3 (basal feed + 1.5% breadfruit flour). Each treatment was repeated 5 times, so it take 20 unit of cages. The variables observed were egg production, egg weight, thickness and eggshell weight, cholesterol and quail egg protein. The data obtained were analyzed using variance analysis and Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test. The results showed that supplemetation of breadfruit leafs flour (Artocarpus altilis) on feed was not significant effect (P 0,05) on egg production and egg shell weight, but there were significant effect (P 0,05) on egg weight, thickness of shell, cholesterol content and egg protein of quail. It can be concluded taht Supplementation of 0.5% of breadfruit leafs flour (Artocarpus altilis) in feed was the optimal level to improve the production and quality of quail egg (Coturnix-coturnix japonica).
