Abstract

High resolution of marine seismic reflection seismic were used to detect the layers of seafloor sediment and to interpret the seismic data geologically. The objectives of this study weres to detect and to characterize the seafloor sediment in the Rambat area, West Bangka, Bangka Belitung. Acquisition data was held on 10-24  August  2012 located between 105.1°00'00" - 105.5°00'00 " N and 1.7°00'00"-1.9° 00'00" W. Several methods used to process the data were geometry processing, band pass filter, predictive deconvolution,  and Autocoralation Gain Control (AGC)  in order to reduce the multiple noise and to  ease the data interpretation. Seismic cross section found in Cross Rambat (CRMBT) line 11 exhibited  sedimentation process of the sea floor which rocky substrates. The process was assumed to be occurred due to legal and illegal mining activities for long period of time. Keywords: seismic, acoustic, sediment, band pass filter, deconvolution, noise

Abstract

Since 2016 acoustic detection technology for marine resources had been developed which was relatively simple and sophisticated, namely Ocean Acoustic Waveguide Remote Sensing. The technology was useful for monitoring and quantifying underwater targets such as marine resources and the environment that can be conducted continuously, sustainable, in situ, real-time, and low cost. This research had designed an Ocean Acoustic Remote Sensing technology instrument to detect signal propagation range. The step taken in this research was to build an acoustic device system such as transmitter and receiver based on TR-103 transmitting transducer sensor and Benthos Aq-1 receiving transducer. Based on the experiment results, the transmitter and receiver designed were confrmed with the measured piezoelectric quantity specifcations. The results at open ocean in the Thousand Islands showed the detection range of transmitter signal propagation to the receiver was 100 m.

Abstract

Acoustic transducer is a source level component in the sonar equation that is indispensable as an underwater acoustic energy source, with a certain emission pattern called beamforming. In this research, we designed the construction of a driver circuit to trigger a piezoelectric (PZT) transducer to produce an acoustic energy beam for the purpose of detecting underwater targets. The manufacture of an acoustic driver with a simple working principle has been carried out to provide transmit (TX) and receive (RX) commands. The RX module will receive the acoustic signal from the TX and the results are recorded for analysis. The mixing of the information signal with noise makes the information obtained cannot be directly verified so that a signal processing process is needed to be able to separate the information signal and noise. Calibration using a spherical target was carried out to determine the detection results and the acoustic intensity level. Signal analysis and visualization methods use Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and wavelets.

Abstract

Although revenue from the oil and gas industry is no longer the main source of national income, it is still playing a strategic role. The oil and gas industry is known as a high-tech, a high-risk, and a high-capital industry, on which the country has limited capacity for regional development, especially of the resources in areas located along the national border. The main objective of this research is to closely identify the recent growth centre status of blocks and sedimentary basins located along the national border. The study relies on published reports, studies, and data such as bathymetry map, national geographic and jurisdiction map, and maps of existing oil and gas blocks. All data were managed under a geographic information system application in order to conduct comparative and qualitative analysis of those overlaying data. Some oil and gas blocks that are located near to neighboring countries, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, The Philippines, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, and Australia have been categorized based on these methods of scoring and ranking analysis to identify new economic centres of growth. Three categories are suggested: very important, important, and ordinary as new growth centres. The Natuna Sea blocks, Iwur, and Timor blocks are considered to be important.
