Abstract

This study begins by addressing compositional gaps in John 12 and its dynamic relationship with the Synoptic Gospels through an initial exegetical exploration. The findings are then developed into a narrative-historical analysis and interpreted using philosophical hermeneutics and catharsis theory to examine the internal condition of the Gospel’s author. The results indicate that John’s emotional state and underlying motives significantly influenced the structure and emphasis of chapter 12. His inner conflict as a disciple closely linked to both John the Baptist and Jesus underlies the unique features of this chapter when compared to the Synoptic parallels. Through cathartic contemplation, John is able to reimagine and narrate painful events with theological and pastoral depth. He recognises the necessity of recording these events faithfully so that his readers might perceive their profound meaning. Ultimately, the narrative conveys a striking message: the world is no longer a safe or ideal place for the followers of Christ. Rather, it has become a dystopian reality, underscoring the cost of discipleship and the enduring relevance of John's Gospel for a suffering community.

Abstract

The initial problem which is revealed in this research is inequality of the implementation of cell groups which only focus on the fellowship (koinonia) task. Basically, the cell group is the medium to implement God’s mission, for instance to do the evangelism task (marturia). The term “cell group” genuinely is taken from the cell philosophy which split (multiply), similarly “cell group” should multiply in quantity because the marturia’s aspect is done maximally. The inequality which happened in the practice of cell groups now is to be the urgency of this research. Finding the strategy of a missionary cell group to complete Jesus' Great Commision. The researcher uses the descriptive qualitative method with library research’s type. Next, the data analyzed with a content analysis method. The data resources are Bible, books, journals and other literature which connect to the research material. The techniques of the data collection are purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The result of this research is the staretgy of the missionary cell group must contain two things that are the essence of cell group namely fellowship (koinoni), teaching (didaskalia) and evangelism (marturia) and the essence of The Great Commision that are outward discipleship, inward discipleship and baptism. Landasan masalah yang diungkapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya ketimpangan dalam pelaksanaan komunitas sel yang hanya difokuskan pada tugas persekutuan (koinonia) saja. Pada dasarnya, komunitas sel adalah sarana pelaksanaan misi Allah, salah satunya adalah untuk mengerjakan tugas pemberitaan Injil (marturia). Komsel sejatinya diambil dari filosofi sel yang aktif membelah (multiplikasi) demikian juga komsel sejatinya harus bermultiplikasi dalam segi kuantitas karena aspek marturianya dikerjakan secara maksimal. Ketimpangan yang terjadi dalam praktik komsel di masa kini menjadi urgensi penelitian ini untuk menemukan strategi komsel yang misioner dalam rangka menuntaskan Amanat Agung Yesus. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian library research dan selanjutnya data dianalisis dengan metode analisis isi (content analysis). Sumber data diperoleh dari Alkitab, buku-buku, jurnal-jurnal dan literatur lainnya yang berkaitan dengan materi penelitian. Data diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dan snowball sampling. Adapun hasil penelitian dalam artikel ini adalah strategi dari komsel yang misioner dalam rangka menuntaskan Amanat Agung Yesus memuat unsur esensial dari komunitas sel yaitu persekutuan (koinonia), pengajaran (didaskalia), pemberitaan Injil (marturia) dan juga unsur esensial dari Amanat Agung Yesus yaitu pemuridan ke luar berupa penginjilan dan ke dalam berupa pengajaran serta pembaptisan.
