Abstract

The use of human labor in measuring and cutting cables manually requires a long time plus the number of cables measured and cut in large quantities, it can take time and manpower so that the work is ineffective and cause losses. For this reason, this research was made a tool that can measure and cut cables automatically using the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Omron CP1E as its control system. In this automatic cable cutting tool the monitoring and input system uses HMI NB7W-TW00B. With this tool, it can measure cable lengths and directly cut them automatically so that it can save time and human labor in measuring and cutting the cable.

Abstract

Data communication technology allows the building of a network of  computers with online applications.  With the Padang  State  Polytechnic  library  system  that  still  uses  a manual  system in the form of  books  and  cards – cards that contain data – data book is considered not efficient anymore, so it takes a library of WEB - based information systems. With the utilization of internet technology in tended for delivery and the need for rapid information retrieval, facilitate student and informed the user in the title of books desired, assist the Polytechnic library Country Meadow in logging the books, because of the internet as a very broad network is an effective and efficient means for this application.

Abstract

An antenna is a device that can receive electromagnetic waves at the receiver, and radiate electromagnetic waves on the transmitter. With the antenna we can receive information transmitted by the transmitting station through the receiver. In other words antenna helps in doing long distance connection with transmitter. In general, the antenna used to receive television signals uses many elements such as driven, reflectors, and directors. But in this study the antenna was made by using a parabolic reflector with a half-lambda driven dipole without using a director.Antenna is made there are several parameters measured as a proof of the success of the antenna. The parameters are: antenna gain, antenna impendance, VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio). The success of the antenna is also determined by the antenna's ability to receive a television signal which can also be seen by performing a direct test of the antenna.

Abstract

In the district IV Nagari of North Bayang there are rivers that have a large water flow. Given its geographical position, these rivers has a large enough height difference. These rivers provide great opportunities for the development of electric energy generation in microscale powerplants.This District only have 2 villages that reserved the electricity, while others not covered due to the difficult path impassable and distances. So as to provide the electricity needs of society, the government in collaboration with the PNPM Mandiri established several microhydro powerplants (PLTMH), because of the potential for water in this place is quite large and abundant.PLTMH in this District is among PLTMH Muaro Aie 72.5 kW, PLTMH Pulai Indah 60 kW, PLTMH Bayang Janiah 15 kW, PLTMH Pancuang Taba 75 kW, PLTMH Limau-Limau 25 kW and PLTMH Ngalau Gadang 25 kW. By doing this analysis study can be known the potential of water flow on the PLTMH Muaro Aie and Pulai Indah. Due to the large potential of water flow present then the power raised also will be bigger, and new plants can be built or added to distribute the power to other areas that have not been fed by electrical energy.

Abstract

The development of the telecommunication the rapidly and the increased the need for information , trigger the increasing number of system project communication and discharging radio frequency .This needs to a design and planning ripe to make the existing system can work optimal without any disturbance of discharging frequency two closely ( interference ) .At the end of this task using software aplication pathloss 5.0 to do design as well as performing calculations link budged in observance of some other factors such as the position of site, the height of the contours of, the condition of propagation , and device used .The end of this duty also using visual basic 2010 to assist in performing calculations link budged.In the design uses the topology of ring from the area of the Padang city was used in 6 ( six ) link , first bypass to tabing at a distance of link 3,59 km , tabing to minang plaza at a distance of link 1,87 km , minang plaza to hotel pangeran at a distance of link 2,48 km , hotel pangeran to simpang anduriang at a distance link 4,05 km , simpang anduriang tobalai baru at a distance of link 2,31 km and balai baru to bypass at a distance 3,75 km.

Abstract

We-based e-Learning System can be used to support lecture’s activity. Lecturer as a teacher need a servise of the Sistim which suitable for their activities. Lecturer’s activities consist of delivering materials, discussion and interaction with their students. Because of that the aplication design is needed to support the activities of lectures.             Designing the web based e-Learning System is intended to give a service on the lecture. Lecture can do their teaching activities, delivering the materials and administering it using this e-Learning aplication. From the student side, they have to receive the materials easily from anywhere at anytime. This research have an objective to design a web based e_learning System which give an adequate service supporting the lecturer’s activities. Lecture can use this aplication ti deliver their materials, communicating and interacting with their student, observing the progress of students and give result of learning evaluation from the web.             The design and implementation of this e-learning application is based on the requirement of the users. The users consist of lecturer, student, quest, and administrator. The process of aplication design is built within Sistimatical stages. After finishing the design process, the aplication is implemented on the real Sistim. Doing the design testing and functional is to test if the aplication can go well together with design and funtionality.e-Learnign aplication that has been built is designed based on lecturer’s need when doing their lecture’s activities. This e-Learning aplication can be used as contribution for building new aplication or5 improving others that has already exist.

Abstract

At this present time increasing electrical energy requirements, and therefore found the latest energy is solar energy. Solar energy can be harnessed as a potential alternative energy source because the energy is very large as well as environmentally friendly. Tool that can be used to convert sunlight directly into electricity is called photovoltaic. On the control panel to control the water pump on the motor control circuit design life turns automatically and manually. To control the timing of the displacement of the pump used to pump two timers. On the control panel of diesel propulsion sell used four times the displacement step. Switching time between steps in the set by a timer. The control panel uses the same circuit with the motor circuit alternating rounds.

Abstract

Daerah Taram merupakan daerah pelayanan listrik PT PLN (Persero) Rayon Lima Puluh Kota. Feeder Taram ini, sering mengalami gangguan fasa ke tanah yang dapat menyebabkan penyaluran listrik ke daerah Taram tidak lancar. Sesuai dengan rekapitulasi laporan harian gangguan JTM pada bulan Juni 2015,  gangguan satu fasa ke tanah sudah tercatat sampai 27 kali gangguan. Dari keseluruhan outgoing feeder di GH Tanjung Pati, Feeder taram inilah yang paling sering mengalami gangguan satu fasa ke tanah yakni 12 kali gangguan.(Sumber : Area Payakumbuh). Upaya untuk mengatasi gangguan satu fasa ketanah sudah dilakukan tetapi gangguan tersebut masih sering terjadi. Upaya selanjutnya yaitu dengan melakukan penyettingan relai ulang karena nilai setting arus GFR disisi outgoing GH Tanjung Pati Feeder Taram kurang efektif. Setting relai hasil analisa yang terdapat pada analisis perbandingan hasil perhitungan dengan data lapangan, untuk mengkordinasikan sekaligus mempercepat respon jika terjadi gangguan. Resetting relai, data settingan relai lama (data lapangan) GFR Feeder Taram pada tanggal 19 Januari 2015 dengan Io 0,20 A dengan TMS 0,05(tanpa satuan). Data settingan relai baru berdasarkan perhitungan tanggal 5 September 2015 dengan Io 0,19 A dengan TMS 0,05(tanpa satuan).

Abstract

Water stove is one type of development in the field of alternative energy by utilizing a water electrolysis process that separates water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen gas by flowing electric current into electrolytes (water fluid and NaCl catalyst) through Aluminum electrodes. Hydrogen and oxygen gas are used as fuel for water stoves to light a fire. Electrolyser is designed by using 4 tubes with maximum fluid per tube consisting of 250 mL water and 4 gram NaCl catalyst. The stability of the electrolysis process is regulated based on current flow and temperature in the process. Monitoring current using ACS712 current sensor and temperature control using a thermistor that is used as temperature control at the temperature of the tube area and then processed by the Arduino mega 2560 microcontroller. In the electrolyzer with a 12 Volt 21 A voltage source, the water stove can light a fire with a maximum current of 21 A (2 tubes in parallel with a maximum current of 10.5 A) and a temperature setpoint of 700 C. However, the current is too large and the temperature too high can cause heat and increase the electrolyzer chamber temperature and this negatively impacts the electrolyzer tube. Based on this explanation, a regulatory unit is needed in the form of current and temperature controls on the electrolyzer to prevent excessive evaporation of the tube and make the tube too hot and melt. With the current and temperature control and proper construction, the water stove is safer when operated by the user.
