Abstract

Diabetes erupts relatively resulting in a mechanism for controling glucose levels in the body, if it is not controlled creates potential complications of experiencing hyperglycemia and hyperglycemia. Condition can be found in diabeteic patients experiencing anxiety, prolonged severe stress and lack of activity/exercise, resulting in inadequate sleep quality, eventually leading to increased blood glucose levels in every system of the body. The research design was quasi experimental method with pre and post with control group, for each group consisted of 32 samples with consecutive sampling technique. The data were analyzed statistically by Wilcoxon Sign Range Test and Mann Whitney U. The result showed that there was an effect of progressive muscle relaxation with a very significant increase in sleep quality where the first intervention difference was (1) in diabetes p = 0.695 (<0.05), and the second intervention group (2) p= 0.00 (p<0.05), with the second group intervention (2) diabetes p= 0.00 (p<0.05). Suggestions to diabetic patients always try actively perform progressive muscle relaxation regularly and measurably every day, in reducing muscle tension, stress anxiety stabilize blood glucose levels and improve sleep quality in the pillars of controlling diabetes complications.

Abstract

Mother who is the closest person to the child in health care has a significant influence on the attitude and behavior of the child. Kindergarten age children generally do not know and have not been able to maintain the health of their oral cavity, so it is the parents’ responsibility to educate them properly. The purpose of this study was to determine the mother’s knowledge about the prevention of dental caries in preschool children at Nusantara Kindergarten in 2021. This research design uses a descriptive survey with the sampling technique of a total sampling of 35 respondents in Tk Nusantara Tanah Java. The instrument used in data collection is a questionnaire. Analysis of the data shows the results of the description of the knowledge of mothers in Tk Nusantara Tanah Jawa obtained data that the majority of respondents have good knowledge as many as 33 people (91.7%), The researcher recommends that further researchers should conduct similar researchers, it is hoped that they will examine the relationship between knowledge level and dental health maintenance behavior in elementary school children. For further researchers, it is also recommended to choose a total sampling technique according to the conditions and characteristics of the population.

Abstract

Background: Knowing the description of serum electrolytes in those with a history of hypertension and congestive heart failure is critical. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to look into the estimation of serum electrolytes, the correlation between serum electrolytes (sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), chlorine (Cl-)) levels with blood pressure, and the demographic characteristics of heart failure patients with a history of hypertension. Method: A retrospective design was used in this study, which used progress records (e.g., participant demographic data, medical history, and clinical laboratory tests such as serum electrolytes and blood chemistry) from patients with hypertension and Heart Failure (HF) who were hospitalized. Result: The present study established no correlation between serum electrolyte levels and blood pressure. The highest of Na+ levels were 169 mEq/L, K+ 6.4 mEq/L, and Cl- 119 mEq/L. Most participants had the habit of not smoking (87 people, 79.8%) and not consuming alcohol (91 people, 83.5%). Demographic characteristics such as gender, smoking habits, and alcohol consumption had no significant impact on serum electrolyte levels, except for a history of alcohol consumption on sodium levels, which had a significant effect (p-value = 0.014). Furthermore, an absence of correlation was observed between demographic factors and blood pressure. Conclusion: A lack of relationship between serum electrolyte levels and blood pressure. Similarly, demographic characteristics were not correlated with blood pressure. HF patients with a history of hypertension show normal serum electrolyte levels, but a significant relationship between alcohol consumption habits and sodium levels was found.
