Abstract

There is a positive relationship between the high woman representation in public and the success of corruption and poverty eradication. This means that the role of women becomes very strategic along with the increase of woman representation in public region. In Indonesia, the problem is that woman representation is very low in public region, and from time to time it tends to decline. The low woman representation indicates that the motivation of women to lead is lower than that of men. It is estimated that work-family conflicts and the ambition of women are the significant factors which cause the low motivation of women to lead in Indonesia. The population consists of the civil servants of local governments in ”Gerbangkertosusilo” in East java. The data were collected by distributing questionnaires to respondents. Using complexity model and multiple measurement method applied to each concept in the research models, all the data were analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and Correlation Analysis. Four relationship hypotheses were significantly proven. These significant hypotheses suggest that: 1) the motivation of women to lead is lower than that of men; 2) the higher the work-family conflict, the weaker the motivation of women to lead (in comparison with men); 3) the stronger the motivation of women to lead, the stronger the work-family conflicts; 4) the stronger the interaction between ambition and work-family conflict, the weaker the motivation of women to lead in comparison with that of men.Keywords: Work-family conflicts, Motivation to lead, Ambition

Abstract

Internally, in order to realize organizational citizenship behavior, we need strong leadership, in this case, the transformational leadership which is capable to bring changes to the university itself. This study was aimed to knowed influence of the transformational leadership, organizational justice, organizational trust and job satisfaction towards the organizational citizenship bevior of the lectures at the private universities in East Kalimantan. The Sampling technique used was multistage sampling, i.e. a step by step sampling method by taking 10% of the number of sample because it amounted to more 100. The number of sample in this research was 140. The research findings showed that: First: Ttransformational leadership had a significant influence toward organizational justice, Second: Transformational leadership had significant influence toward organizational trust, Third: Organizational justice had significant influence toward organizational trust, Fourth: transformational leadership did not have influence toward job satisfaction, Fifth: organizational justice significantly influenced job satisfaction, Sixth: Organizational trust significantly influenced on job satisfaction, Seventh: Transformational leadership significantly influenced organizational citizenship behavior Eighth: Organizational justice significantly influenced organizational citizenship behavior, Ninth: Organizational trust significantly influenced organizational citizenship behavior, Tenth: Job satisfaction significantly influenced organizational citizenship behavior.Keywords: Transformational Leadership, Organizational Justice, Organizational Trust, Job Satisfaction, organizational citizenship behavior.

Abstract

ABSTRAKS   Hasil uji hipotesis yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa variabel-variabel bebas dividend payout ratio, return on equity, earning growth dan financial leverage secara bersama-sama maupun secara parsial mampu menjelaskan pengaruhnya terhadap price earning ratio dengan R 2 sebesar 57,9%. Sedangkan sisanya 42,1% dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain, misalnya kebijakan pemerintah, tingkat pertumbuhan penjualan, pertumbuhan laba ataupun tingkat bunga. Dengan uji parsial antara variabel-variabel bebas dengan variabel tergantung diperoleh sumbangan R2 yang terbesar pada variabel financial leverage. Hal ini disebabkan karena selama krisis perusahaan lebih tinggi tingkat leveragenya. Dalam pengujian kewajaran harga saham diperoleh hasil bahwa harga saham lebih bersifat undervalued daripada bersifat wajar. ABSTRACT   Results of hypothesis test shows that independent variables, such as dividend payout ratio, return on equity, earning growth, and financial leverage, collectively and partially able to explain the effect to price earning ratio, by R2 as much as 57,9 %. The rest of 42,1% come from other factors, including government policies, level of sales development, profit growth or interests rate. F test has been defined, it is then said as significant and, therefore, first hypothesis is proved. Result of partial test on independent and dependent variables indicates that the highest R2 is resulted from financial leverage variable. This is because condition that during crisis, companies get higher leverage.In fittingness test the companies’ shares tend to be undervalued.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to study the relationship between Banjarese culture, Islamic entrepreneurship and strategy, performance, and competitive advantage on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) which produce gem and jewelry stones. The design of this research is mixed methods, where the primary approach is quantitative one and supported by qualitative approach to improve the study. Target population of this research is SME’s Gem and Jewelry Stone products in Martapura. Sample was taken during the quantitative phase using stratified random sampling. Meanwhile, the data were collected by distributing questionnaires which involving 112 respondents. Qualitative approach from Miles-Huberman Model was applied by involving 5 key informants. Whereas quantitative data were processed using structural equation modeling. The research findings show that Banjarese cultures have not yet significantly influenced to the both performance and competitive advantage of the SMEs. On the other hand, the Banjarese culture has improved the SEMs’ performance and competitive advantage through Islamic entrepreneurship and strategy. It means that the implementation of Islamic entrepreneurship in business activities which have done by owner and manager in SME’s Gem and Jewelry Stone product can improve the performance and competitive advantage.Keywords: Banjarese culture, Islamic Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Performance, Competitive advantage, SME’s.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to integrate causality model between environment, knowledge sharing behavior, and strategic planning process, to innovation and performance. The sample of the research is small and medium sized enterprise of handicraft industry that made of leather, e.g. shoes, leather jackets, bags, luggage, belts, wallets, and other products made of genuine leather which still can’t compete in East Java. Structural Equation Modelling is used to process the data. The result shows that from the nine tested hypotheses, there are 7 (seven) accepted tests (and they have significant impact), and there are 2 (two) unaccepted tests (and they have insignificant impact), such as the impact of environment and knowledge sharing behavior to business performance. The findings of this research are, first, the impact of sharing behavior/developing knowledge to work performance of small and medium sized enterprise should use innovation as antecedent variable, and second, the impact of environment changes to work performance of small and medium sized enterprise is determined by strategic planning variable mediation. A stronger work environment changes force the enterprises to create effective strategic planning process intensity, which do some sustainable information search about market and other information to create creativity in product making designing and services. The implementation of small and medium sized enterprise’s knowledge management is not only just to share knowledge about their market, but also must be followed by increasing the knowledge/ability of the employers, giving opinion about employers’ performance, fluently communicating, and using technology to design product and facilitate communication. New idea in this research is knowledge sharing behavior at SMEs, which have a significan role to create innovation and creativity to enhacing performance.Keywords: Environment, Knowledge Sharing Behavior, Strategic Planning Process, Innovation, and Performance.
