Abstract

In the next World Free Trade Era, presumably 70% industrial growth, especially in Java will be centered around the cities and this situation will increase environmental pollutions. The government continuously do the efforts to keep down the problems although there are also many pollution cases that couldn’t be completed. Because of lack in continous control and monitor by institution which handle environmental problems.This paper explains the role of monitoring environmental management, especially in monitoring environmental pollutions. As supporting data this paper discuss a case about using information technology in environmental managemnet in Japanesse Environmental Offices. This case shows that monitoring environmental pollutions, air water and others is an important job which is done by environmental departement in Japanese local government office. The environmental pollution monitoring has an important role in controling environmental pollutions.

Abstract

Water pollution in big cities, especially in Jakarta has become a serious problem. One of the potential reasons is home wastewater, which comes from the kitchen, bathroom, washing waste or human feaces. Limited facility for processing wastewater in the cities and bad sanitation system right now has quickens the process of water pollution, especially river and shallowunderground water pollutions. For example, general septic tank system used by the people is the one, which does not fulfill technical terms. As the land become narrow, the reservoir system is not proper anymore, because wastewater penetrated through the earth still contains high concentrated pollutant. Bacteriological pollution in shallow underground water also can be potentially caused by bad human feaces waste. As the slow development of centrally processing system of home/city wastewater is a problem, the individual process home waste water (On Site Treatment) is a new way to solve it.

Abstract

Karang Anyar Flat was built about 30 years ago to provide public cheap and proper housings located in the center of the town. But rightnow condition of the flat is not comfortable anymore, especially the problem on domstic waste treatment instalation. It doesn’t running well; it brings bad smell and most of the pipes broke down. It need a plan to repair the domestic waste treatment instalation and improvement in pipes network system.

Abstract

Ciliwung River flows through the city center and passes through the village, dense housing and slums. So that the river is experiencing the most severe pollution mainly household waste water and industrial pollution compared with other rivers that flow in Jakarta. One of the efforts to control pollution of the river is by monitoring the water quality of the river. This monitoring should be carried out continuously online to analyze the quality of water entering or residing in the water bodies. To support the plan of installing online monitoring system of river water quality is necessary to know the perception of people who are in locations where the system installed. This is done with the aim to socialized the implementation plan and to determine the support and participation of the public in the vicinity. The results of this study show that the majority of the population supports the installation of technology online water quality monitoring in the Ciliwung River. With the hope that people can know directly how the conditions of Ciliwung River water quality.Key words: Ciliwung river, online monitoring of water quality technology, public perception

Abstract

Masalah pencemaran lingkungan di kota-kota besar menunjukkan gejala yang cukup serius khususnya pencemaran air. Penyebab pencemaran tersebut tidak hanya akibat air limbah industri tetapi hal ini juga air limbah rumah tangga/permukiman (domestik) yang semakin hari makin besar sesuai perkembangan penduduk. Upaya-upaya pemerintah dalam menanggulangi permasalah tersebut telah banyak dilakukan antara lain telah dikeluarkan undang-undang maupun peraturan-peraturan baik dari pemerintah maupun dari kementerian serta lainnya. Akan tetapi hasilnya masih belum signifikan, permasalahan masih terus berlanjut. Tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah untukmemberikan informasi tentang kebijakan dan strategi pengelolaan air limbah domestik dalam rangka mendukung pengelolaan air limbah permukiman yang terpadu, efisien dan efektif dalam perencanaan, pembiayaan dan pembangunaan serta pelaksanaannya. kata kunci : pencemaran air, air limbah domestik, kebijakan dan strategi

Abstract

Abstrak Kebutuhan penduduk akan air bersih terutama untuk minum dan masak sangat tinggi, ini sejalan dengan pesatnya pertumbuhan penduduk di perkotaan. Permasalahan yang ada saat ini adalah kondisi kualitas dan kuantitas air bersih sangatlah terbatas. Salah satu pemenuhan kebutuhan akan air minum penduduk perkotaan adalah dengan mengkonsumsi air minum dalam kemasan dan air minum isi ulang. Untuk membantu masyarakat Sumbawa dalam pemenuhan sebagian kebutuhan air minum, PTL, BPPT telah membangun instalasi pengolahan air siap minum (ARSINUM) di SMK Al-Kahfi, Sumbawa. Peralatan pengolah air siap minum yang dibangun mempunyai kapasitas 10.000 liter per hari dan selain digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air minum asrama siswa juga untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air minum masyarakat sekitarnya. Untuk keberlangsungan unit ARSINUM tersebut, dibutuhkan pengelola yang dapat merawat dan mengoperasikan unit dengan baik dan memasarkan air minum hasil produksi kemasyarakat luas. Metodologi yang digunakan pada implementasi teknologi pengolahan ARSINUM adalah pengumpulan informasi, survei dan interview, observasi serta analisis SWOT. Evaluasi hasil implementasi alat pengolah ARSINUM menunjukkan bahwa diperlukan strategi pemasaran yang baik yang didukung oleh keunggulan-keunggulan unit ARSINUM, dan diperlukan sistem transportasi yang baik pula untuk mendistribusikan galon isi ARSINUM ke masyarakat. Kalau transportasi tidak direncanakan dengan baik, maka hal ini akan meningkatkan harga jual air minum. Kata kunci: teknologi pengolahan air siap minum, usaha galon air minum,  engelola arsinum.
