Abstract

Low oil price environment impacted to business of Oil and Gas Company including PT. SDEC. However, PT. SDEC was able securing limited and fixed capital budget to drill well and had committed to drill certain well number to Government of Indonesia. When the initial 12 wells were completed with longer cycle time (average 9.9 days/well) than business plan (7.5 days/well) and also higher cost, the problem became more complex because company need to complete well as per commitment and in other hand no additional capital will be spent by parent company if actual expenditure exceeded the initial budget. Company assigned a team to solve the problem through Lean Six Sigma. Through strong collaboration among team, the project execution performance was improved (the Cp of drilling cycle time was improved from 0.06 to 1.08). As the result of this project save cost around $ 2.8 million.

Abstract

Abstract: Environmental degradation require business to rethink their way of doing business. Industrial Ecology (IE) is a paradigm change that allows a cyclical resource-use in which Circular Economy (CE) rethink and recycle the waste generated into a industrial input, thereby reducing environmental burden. Industrial Ecology (IE) is one of the most referenced grand theories for Circular Economy (CE). This research aims to map IE to CE bibliographically to identify research trends, prominent researchers, and countries with the most publication. This research's methodology is bibliographic mapping of 112 articles using VOSviewer in three steps: data acquisition, data processing, and visual output. This research has identified three research findings. The first finding is the identification of five clusters that correspond with the current research trend. The second finding is identifying Geng Y., Lai K.H., and Zhu Q. as the leading researchers for CE and IE. The third finding is China is the leading country for CE and IE research. The implication is China aiming to transform its industry into environmentally more sustainable. Future research topic venue can incorporate other grand theories to expand the theoretical and practical focus of CE.

Abstract

Small-scale industries play an important role in the betterment of society. Industrial cluster approach has been used by government as an alternative government policy to increase competitiveness of small-scale industries in Indonesia. An industry cluster consists of core enterprise(s) and related enterprises in which the core acts as a pulling agent for the other counterparts. Therefore, developing the core enterprises is expected to increase competitiveness of the whole cluster. This research is a strategy process research, aiming at identifying and modeling strategic behavior of a successful entrepreneur in a metal-making cluster industry at Kiara Condong Bandung, West Java. Based on the literature review, qualitative research methodology is used in this research by combining soft systems methodology (SSM) and grounded theory. The major findings of this research indicate four kinds of strategic behavior models, namely behavior model of strategy setting, behavior model of production operations, behavior model of research and development and innovation and behavior model of marketing operations. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Industri kecil mempunyai peranan penting dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Kata kunci:industri kecil, keunggulan kompetitif, perilaku strategis, resource based view (RBV), soft systems methodology (SSM), grounded theory.

Abstract

Studies on the internationalization process of SMEs have fascinated the attention of researchers around the world. The dynamics in the internationalization process of SMEs have attracted researchers' interest in analyzing the behavior and the factors that influence it with various theoretical approaches to contribute to the development of international business studies. This paper intended to provide an overview of the various theories applied in investigating SMEs' internationalization process. The review was conducted on 100 journal articles between 2013 and 2020. The investigation results show that 17 different theories have been identified in the internationalization process of SMEs and we classified them into five streams. Based on our findings, from those 17 theories, the five primary published theories in order are (1) Uppsala theory, (2) Network theory, (3) Resource-based theory, (4) international entrepreneurship theory, and (5) institutional theory. This study also provides suggestions and implications for future research. Keywords— Internationalization process; Internationalization SME theory; Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)

Abstract

The automotive manufacturing industry in Indonesia plays an important role in driving national industrial growth, with vehicle production exceeding one million units annually and the automotive industry itself contributing 7.63% to GDP and employing around 1.5 million people. PT Mawar Manufaktur (PT MM), as a manufacturer and supplier of automotive components, plays a significant role within this ecosystem. However, amid the intensifying competition in the automotive industry, PT MM faces challenges in enhancing its competitiveness. The current performance management system remains fragmented and primarily focuses on financial and core operational aspects. This study proposes a redesigned Performance Management System (PMS) using the Knowledge-Based Performance Management System (KBPMS) framework. This performance management system combines strategic alignment, interdepartmental integration, and the inclusion of key performance indicators (KPIs) consisting of financial and non-financial indicators. The new PMS is expected to enhance the company's flexibility and competitiveness. The research methodology includes a combination of qualitative and quantitative techniques, such as interviews, literature reviews, external and internal analyses, and the application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The outcome of this study is a comprehensive PMS tailored to the strategic needs and operational context of PT MM. This enables the company to adapt to industry developments, particularly the growing relevance of electric vehicles (EVs), and to sustain long-term growth.

Therefore, it is crucial to identify potential areas of improvement to ensure that CUC can effectively contribute to the success of PT DTC’s new strategy direction. This study focuses on the Learning Team at CUC, which aims to produce learning materials that enhance employee capabilities. To analyze this process, the study uses the ADDIE and Project Management framework to identify the operational process of learning design & development. By using the frameworks, CUC is expected to deliver high-quality learning materials that align with the company strategy effectively. Data collection is conducted by semi-structured interviews with five participants from the learning team, to explore the business strategy of the company and the day-to-day learning operations. The data was analyzed using NVivo 15 software, which generated word frequency queries to identify emerging themes. These themes were further analyzed through quotation analysis understand the contextual situation in the learning process. Data analysis results revealed six areas of improvement: Resource Management, Scalability Planning for High-Impact programs, Stakeholder Communication, Learner Participation, Learning Impact Measurement, AI Technology Enhancement.
