Abstract

This research aims to uncover the effects of Baroque music exposure on students during a narrative writing, and is motivated through the popular beliefs of Mozart effect which can enhance human’s intelligence and performance in cognitive tasks. This research is conducted from January 18 until February 15, 2018. This research is presented by using qualitative design and method to describe and analyse the result of the interview. The population in this research is the eleventh grader students of Math and Science-1 of State Senior High School 1 Gununghalu and there are three interviewees. This research uses description and interpretation technique data analysis. The findings show that the exposure of Baroque music during the narrative writing activity gives positive effects to 66% of the participants. It helps them to relax and to soothe their emotional state, and eventually affects their brain activity to create imagery visions. However, it can also be harmful to others, where 34% of the participants consider the music as a distraction to their activity and reducing their concentration. In the end, the result of the participants’ writing products is determined through additional factors and conditions besides music.

Abstract

Abstrak Dusun Jatisumber desa Watesumpak adalah daerah yang terkenal dengan industri kecil patung batu. Kerajinan patung batu ini sudah ada sejak jaman kerajaan majapahit. Namun saat ini jumlah industri kecil patung batu semakin berkurang karena masih banyaknya permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh para pengusaha. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka penulis ingin meneliti tentang permasalahan industri kecil patung batu dalam meningkatkan pendapatan pengrajin di dusun Jatisumber desa Watesumpak kecamatan Trowulan Kabupaten Mojokerto dengan tujuan (1) untuk menjelaskan permasalahan yang dihadapi industri kecil patung batu di dusun Jatisumber desa Watesumpak kecamatan Trowulan kabupaten Mojokerto dalam meningkatkan pendapatan, (2) untuk mendeskripsikan upaya yang dilakukan pengrajin industri kecil patung batu dalam menghadapi permasalahan yang ada dan dalam meningkatkan pendapatan di dusun Jatisumber desa Watesumpak kecamatan Trowulan kabupaten Mojokerto. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah masyarakat dusun Jatisumber khususnya para pengrajin yang juga sekaligus pemilik industri kecil patung batu sebanyak 10 informan. Penentuan informan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling. Analisa data terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, menarik kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permasalahan yang dihadapi para pengrajin sekaligus pemilik industri kecil patung batu adalah perolehan bahan baku, permodalan, pemasaran, teknologi, dan kurangnya dukungan pemerintah. Permasalahan tersebut sangat berpengaruh terhadap tingkat pendapatan yang diperoleh oleh para pengrajin. Upaya yang dilakukan oleh para pengrajin sekaligus pemilik industri kecil patung batu dalam menghadapi permasalahan yang ada adalah menandon bahan baku dan mencari sumber bahan baku lain, memperbaiki manajemen keuangan, menjaga kualitas produk, meningkatkan kemampuan teknologi, dan bekerja sama dengan sesama pengrajin. Pendapatan yang diterima oleh para pengrajin sebelum adanya upaya yang dilakukan berkisar antara Rp.10.000.000 sampai dengan Rp.35.000.000 per bulan, sedangkan setelah adanya upaya yang dilakukan oleh para pengrajin dalam 1 bulan jika ada satu pembeli asing yang membeli produk patung batu maka pendapatan yang diterima berkisar antara Rp.15.000.000 sampai dengan Rp.80.000.000 per bulan. Abstract

The limited level of public education and the low level of education and skills in the field of Islam are quite complex problems in the development process. The pursuit of knowledge is very important because knowledge is a means that everyone uses to achieve prosperity in this world and the hereafter. This lack of understanding of the teachings of the Islamic religion is very embarrassing because Islamic religious education is very important. On this occasion, we, students of KKN UIN FAS group 18, will provide an understanding of Islamic religious education to the children of State Elementary School 36, Central Bengkulu. The method of implementing community service that we carry out is a qualitative descriptive method. From the activities that have been carried out it can be confirmed that studying Islam in elementary schools has a lot of importance for children's development. The following are several reasons why Islamic religious education is important at the elementary school level, Character Formation, Understanding of Ethics and Morals, Introduction to Spiritual Values, Knowledge of Worship, Prevention from Negative Influences, Strengthening Islamic Identity, and Preparing a Generation with Noble Characters. Based on the implementation of activities and learning during the activities, it is known that socialization related to increasing enthusiasm for learning Islamic religious education at SDN 36 Central Bengkulu City has influenced students and teachers. The real impact is expanding understanding of Islamic religious knowledge through improving learning methods and utilizing the latest technological advances. Apart from that, as activity participants, students can gain insight into the importance of studying Islam so that they are more easily motivated.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) strategies to improve students' critical thinking skills. The research method used was a literature review analyzing various relevant sources. The results indicate that PBL can facilitate students in identifying problems, analyzing information, formulating solutions, and logically evaluating their thinking. Therefore, PBL can be used as an effective learning strategy in developing students' critical thinking skills at various levels of education.PBL is a learning approach that uses real-world problems as a context for students to learn critical thinking, solve problems, and acquire essential knowledge and concepts from the subject matter. This model was first developed in 1969 at McMaster University School of Medicine, Canada, to address health issues and was later adapted for general education to improve student learning outcomes. Through PBL, students are encouraged to learn independently, seek relevant information, and collaborate with peers to identify and solve learning problems. This approach trains students in analysis, creativity, and independence, while also increasing motivation for discussion and the contribution of ideas. Thus, PBL is significantly more effective than conventional learning in training students to think critically and solve problems.
